Just spent 2 hours in torrential rain watching and setting up for son no. 1s game in the Dryrobe absolutely toasty and dry throughout. What’s the point spending £160 on a piece of kit and not using it for a task it’s absolutely perfect for just because of what a few others might think.

Dryrobe I’ve started to ride to both my son’s away football games usually 50 mile round trip ,wife carries it in the car bang it to watch the game and cycle back it’s perfect.

The t shirt came out last week based on a sketch from a comedy podcast. With a right wing nutter ranting on a parody radio phone in. In some fiction becomes truth coincidence a right wing nutter starts with reading out a list of members of the anti growth coalition in parliament that starts the same and is almost as ridiculous.

Maybe she got sacked for forgetting the correct list members of the Anti Growth Coalition. She made a good start but mixed up Tofu for smashed avacado. I’ll lend he my new t shirt so she doesn’t forget in future.

The Wedding Present were the soundtrack to my teenage years growing up in Leeds, they were our band went to see them loads in the late 80’s early 90’s. I’ve been back watching them for the past 5 years, and I’ll probably go to the book reading in Manchester next month.

For my time in University, the House of Love Fontana album is the one that evokes the memories of that time and i still think its amazing.

Another Jet Square taper cranks user and a 30t N/W ring just moved them up to his bigger bike. The only disadvantage is that they are single ring only so unlike butchering a triple you can’t leave the 22t ring on for emergencies.

Ive always thought that for Americans they have to deal with the fact that there was something very fishy about the JGK assassination. If you have a potential massive conspiracy at the heart of your recent history then it makes it much more believable that there many other massive conspiracies out their.

Ive seen Public Service Broadcasting loads over the years and to be honest I was a little board last night some good bits but I didn’t do it for me. It may have been that atmosphere wasn’t great compared to the usual drunken festival crowd.

Got cheap tickets to Public Service Broadcasting in Keele, Stoke is becoming my go place for gigs at the moment. Probably going to see Sea Power and Billy no mates at the Sugar Mill in the next month.

I have a wattbike a Zwift and FulGaz subscription but I’ve decided to do 3 spin classes a week for the winter.

The classes are free with my gym subscription and 2 of them competitive using Spivi. I rinse myself in those class far more than on the wattbike.

The wattbike isn’t great in erg mode with Zwift so I use the spin classes to put high power efforts into my riding.

I find that the classes cover a wide range of cadences and are not all 100rom plus. Plus you can just ignore the instructor and work if the power meter.

I’ve just done it as I wanted a winter road bike it a rush and they are rubbish I don’t trust them.

I have 3 drop bar bikes and a nice flat barred gravel bike I built up myself from a Dolan frame. It hads taken me about six months to get the handlebar set up right but now I have I’m really happy with it. I have a really wide bar with inboard bar ends plus lifeline copies of ergon gp2.

I almost bought a Sondor Frontier frame in the clearance last week but instead I built back my an old Scandal to use for a similar purpose as you it’s currently set up with 650b x42 wheels. I also have a nice hope 26 inch wheels to stick on when I want to take it on more rugged terrain and for bike packing. I took it out at the weekend and I was surprised how well it rode it was not much slower than my other gravel bikes.

The gearing is currently 40 11-42 though I’m going to add a front mech I’ve already added a 28 inner as a bail out gear when it gets steep or it’s fully loaded.

Went see Yard Act at the Sugermill in Stoke last week, they were great and what and excellent venue. I think I’ll go back to see Sea Power in a few weeks.

I use the Sony ones stay in my ears really well and have a massive battery life. I’m no audiophile but they sound fine to me. They block all sound out but that suits me as I’m ever got on with shokz or open Jabra headphones plus they are only £30 probably due not been on trend being connected by a wire.

I love gravel bikes I’ve got three. Was was chatting with guy with a Tempest last weekend he loved it it was the Rival version and he had upgraded the wheels and tyres said he was putting down some pritty tricky terrain.

He’d had it for two years with no problems. Made me think in should have gone titanium rather than carbon on my latest build.

I’ve done 5 rides since last Saturday. I really wanted a rest day today. I’ll do a 30 minutes run walk later today to start.

We spend a week in near Estella a few years ago and are planning to go again next year. If you get chance try cycling up to the Urbasa national park you may have passed signs for it in the way from Pampalona.

I assume this is stop the daily mail headlines or do think the police might arrest anyone cycling during the funeral for causing offence. I plan to up a mountain on my bike or walking. The only people that will see me will doing the same.

The Thing is still great the practical effects are far better the GGI garbage we get in many movies. I borrowed an colour TV of my gran as she was away we could only afford a B&W one. I was 11 and stayed up to watch The Thing on it I was terrified.

The Young Ones I thought it was amazing (I was probably 9 at the time) but I tried to watch it again recently and it was rubbish.

I’m planning to be up a mountain. A potential good day to do Snowdon ?

Just of the phone with a colleague who is a staunch republication he was going to go into work as he felt hypocritical taking the day off. Convinced him that spending a nice day off riding his bike away from the media coverage on Liz, was a much better thing to do.

Tendons hate both over use and under use I’m stuck with aductor tendonopathy after dropping from running > 200 miles a month to Zero due to another injury. Every time I now raise my volume it comes back.

I’d go see a good sports physio who will rehab you to find what exactly you have and the correct exercises to fix it.

We have been to Spain several times since Brexit with a van with 7 bikes and 2 adults and 3 kids and had no problems. We have been checked by Spanish customs a few times but never mentioned anything about the bikes.

I watched a couple of videos on this yesterday for 11 speed grx and it looked like 40t yes but at 42t it didn’t work. That was without a roadlink.

Not expensive but stupid mistake I mistake I made a couple of weeks ago. Trying to fit a new dropper leaver to my sons very old dropper post half way through realised the dropper was shot and I’d be as well getting a new Brand X one. I decided to cut the outer in the middle of the frame to remove the cable. Only it was his rear brake hose doah.

We done the ferry to Caen twice this year and the ferry to Bilbo twice. One the ferry to Caen and back we meet no one as we get the 11pm ferry and go straight to bed and get off at 7am. Though we were in a line of 5 silver T5 including us at Feb half term clearly all going skiing most of the passengers were in vans. On the 36 hour Easter ferry we had an inset day so managed to get one just before the schools broke up. It was full of Gammons making no effort to even say Merci to the French staff. On the ferry 2 weeks ago very middle class lots of posh English families dressed head to toe in Ralph Lauren.

I’m sure they all see me as a overweight northern monkey showing off with his shit GCSE French

When I built the brick BBQ I added a pizza oven sized space the side and magically the pizza oven fairly got me one for Christmas. I get out a 5ft camping table we have to do the prep and lay out the toppings.

Based on last years usage we are going to be north of £10k from around £2k when our fix ends in October. We’ll be ok but I don’t know how others and small businesses are going to manage.

We are getting showered at work and cutting down on the kids showers no more 1/2 showers for the daughter.

The kids bikes are a mixture of 11 speed SLX and XT I would have certainly put Advent X on it at the time but there was no stock anywhere when I built them up.

For the first time in ages by next MTB bike is likely to be a full build and if you want the better fork and wheels you end up with the better groupset. I’m not impressed with 12 speed I have it on my gravel bike and it’s just not robust. It’s not easy to downgrade from 12 speed as you’ve committed to a particular free hub. It’s likely to be a Sondor at least you can get different free hubs for their wheels.

Has to active don’t care where, I’m as happy spending a week at Cannock Chase as I am biking in the alps or Pyrenees. Holidays have morphed over the years as the kids have grown older. Used to be MTB in the UK and Road riding in Europe but now I ride gravel by myself and MTB with kids whilst the wife road rides. We do less walking now and more kayaking, Suping and dicking around at aqauparks and open water swimming. We arrived on hols on Saturday night. ÄI’ve done a 25 mile gravel ride, the wife has done a 50 mile bike ride and is out on her second now. The kids have done two rides and two sessions at the aqua park. Walking or kayaking this afternoon. We are out here for three weeks i always need a rest when I get home.

I’ve got a dry robe and my mate has a Gill copy was almost as good when we used them all week on a wet camping trip in the lakes a few months ago.

We were Dryrobe W*%##kers we virtually lived in them all week as the weather was so shit.

But tbh in the summer your probably just as well with a decathlon poncho towel. That’s all I use for water sports and swimming on hols. A dry robe would be boiling and if you have a few they take up tonnes of space.
