I’ve only ever done it on a road bike. I think the gears on an MTB would make it quite comfortable.

TV mustget himself on the podium now? Maybe 3rd to Evans and one Schleck or another?

Was sorry to see AC blow like that. Thought he was gonna do better.

Re AS’s attack yesterday – I really hope we’re not reading about blood transfusions etc etc in 3 months time. I’m on the edge of divorcing the tour for its previous dishonesty as it is 🙁

Fignon in ’89 was an amazing end of tour. I don’t believe they’ve ever had a TT on the last day since?

Andy Schlecks team mate to show him the line to take down the mountain and then TT him along the valley floor to the final climb?

I regularly hit 50mph (road bike) on a particular hill near here. It’s a pretty straight, wide and smooth main road. A few mph over 50 is about as fast as I can physically spin with 52/11. Do they fit 53’s for the mountain stages?

I have to say when I top out and stop putting in effort and start thinking about what i’m doing, I look at my skinny little tyres and think ooooooh sh!t. . . .

In the vid clip above the guys are freewheeling at 100km/h and touching each others bums ffs!

I rode down Alpe D’ Huez (before I rode up it) and it was pretty cool. But . . . the corners are sharp, the tarmac is smoooooth and the drop is steep. You can big-ring it out the corners and your at 40mph in seconds – just as the next bend appears.

On a technical descent like todays I would have ridden into that guys carpark, through the wall and off down the mountain . . . . never to be seen again!

EDIT: It must help knowing for sure that nothing is gonna come round a bend towards you too??

It was an excellent stage. Nice win for Thor and a good effort by Evans. I’ve been waiting for Contador to get out the saddle and do something special – and today did the trick 🙂

Not sure what happened to the Shrek tag-team – it wasn’t a real mountain stage afterall?

I’m off every afternoon for the rest of the week – I hope the heads of state keep digging into their suitcases of courage and keep it going now . . . .

    oh and RIP BW 🙁

I was walking down a street with quite small front gardens the other day when it suddenly struck me that the predominant feature of each house wasn’t rose bushes or garden gnomes, but 2 f*^k off big wheelie bins next to each porched front door. Once you notice them it does look pretty sh*te 🙁

All great fun – I can loose myself in there for hours.

Is this a drug that can help for a single day, ie provides a spike, or is it something that needs to be taken over a period of time to have any benefit?

I'm in the process of booking 5 or 6 flights to take place over the next year between the UK and South Africa and I'm avoiding BA. I just can't take a chance on them not being able to move me when I need moving!

I'm sure Virgin are making a killing right now.

I'm happy with the kit – it does everything I need and I never usually have a problem. I'll try replacing the batteries in the sensors and make sure it's all clean.

hard to see how that'd click accidentally.

agree. I can imagine it missing a pass or two of the magnet, especially at speed, but seeing it when it's not there is weird!

OK – mine seems to be more clamping my jaw than grinding my teeth. Gonna try taking a relaxant before sleep and work on sorting out some of the things in my life that are clearly playing on my mind 🙂

    LOL @

I used to do this. Would wake the next day aching where the jaw hinges near the ear. It was really uncomfortable. So now whenever I get it, Mrs T would wake periodically throughout the night to see if I was doing it, and if I was, she'd give me a good hard slap. . . .

Isn't there a nicer way she could wake you up, that would leave you feeling calm and relieved and able to fall back into a deep satisfied sleep . . . .?

Yeah – if you're a dentist and someone says you're no good, what better way to prove them wrong than to "yank one of your own teeth out" haha

and that poor guy stuck up on the roof for several days.

Saw this live – very exciting. Cancellara was in yellow at the time – this was the decent and chaseback (Stage 7 2009). Watch him pick his way through the cars at speed and duck around the cliff face!

    Fabian

Mind you yesterday when Schleck & Contador chased and caught the breakaway was pretty exciting too . . . . .
