Saw him in ’85 at the Brighton Center. Fantastic – and got his autograph afterwards. Saw him bfore the show across the road in a gaming arcade – he was a big bloke!

I see he’s on tour right now – and coincidentally, I saw him in a re run episode of “House” last night!

The only glitch I had (operator error!) was wetting the HR monitor strap when I put it on but not when I started to ride half an hour later. I got some irratic HR’s until I started sweating a bit.

    I know for a fact that 210bpm isn’t happening 🙂

We went for the 500 bundle. HR & Cadence/indoor speed sensor included. Bought 2 so got some discount 🙂

The 800 looks very nice and a touch screen would have been cool – but just too much cash because we needed 2.

Lots of very nice places to choose from, but what to do for a bit on income?

Ice Cream man? You just need a van and some lollies!
Open a little cafe? Sausage Egg and Chips can’t be that hard?
Buy a chain saw and become a tree surgeon?

Interesting Caher – southern europe has crossed my mind. Not St Tropez of course, but there are plenty of normal places. Maybe within an hour of the pyranees or the southern end of the alps . . .

Hmmm I’m picturing lots of woods, valleys and greeness so far . . . and I do like plate sized Yorkshire Pudding. (of course greeness = rain!)

Trying to follow the progress on line and the commontators are saying the tv work and on-screen updates are hopless.

    sheesh.

I haven’t been following your story – don’t spend as much time on here as I used to since moving to South Africa for a bit, but it certainly sounds as though J was quite a guy and put up a hell of a fight. Good for him! Condolances to you T.

To think I didn’t go out riding today because “it’s a bit cold” 🙁

That’s a beautiful tree/bush and obviously a haven for birds. It would be a crime to cut it now.

Tell them to sort their own problems out. And btw, how did they ever put the dish up without coming onto your property???

I really feel for you guys. I was in the UK a few weeks ago and the weather was, quite hoestly, crap. I wore shorts for as long as I could but, after 5 days, I cracked and pulled on tracksuit bottoms.

I love the greeness, the woods to walk in, the streams etc, but even although it stayed light until well after 9pm, you just couldn’t go out and enjoy it without a fleece on. The wind was particularly sharp.

Watching the boats on the thames on tv today, whether you are pro royal or not, you have to feel for the public that look forward to this sort of thing and then get rained on 🙁

hope the next 2 days are better for you.

I haven’t read the whole post so maybe this has been said, but I’m sure it boils down to “any attention is bettter than none”

Like the kid in class who no one liked and who got all of his interaction through being naughty, fighting, generally getting in trouble.

Of course there needs to be support groups for these people and they shouldn’t be singled out, they had deprived childhoods and I read in the mail that the government was on the case as we speak . . .

What a joke. Hammering a tea room 🙁

And yet on the news last night, talking about people that were E-Baying their torches, the official olympic stance was apparently one of “understanding and tolerance”. They don’t mind what people do with their torches.

In South Africa we pay about 3p for carrier bags.

Apparently they introduced this when the carrier bag became known as the countries “national flower” due to the number of them caught on barbed wire fences along the sides of the roads.

A small charge stops people taking more than they need 🙂

Cat: What, am I the only sane one here? Why don’t we drop the defensive shields?
Kryten: A superlative suggestion, sir, with just two minor flaws. One: we don’t have any defensive shields. And two: we don’t have any defensive shields. Now I realise that, technically speaking, that’s only one flaw; but I thought it was such a big one, it was worth mentioning twice.

    or in real life:

Cat: What, am I the only sane one here? Why don’t we fit the electromagnetic cats & traps launch mechanism?
Kryten: A superlative suggestion, sir, with just two minor flaws. One: we don’t have any electromagnetic cats & traps launch mechanisms. I started getting them when I was 21. Then from about 30 onwards they backed off. Maybe I subconciously changed whatever was triggering them? – I don’t know.

Driving at night when people don’t dip their lights in time seemed to trigger it, and so did looking at odd patterns – black and white stripes etc. Even now I can’t look at some patterns (curtains / furniture etc) without starting to get blank spots in my eyes.

I had the same symptoms as mentioned above. Fuzzy areas in my vision with bright jagged patterns for 10 mins, followed by thumping headache and an inability to focus properly for a few hours. I found if I could take 2 of the strong anadin extra headache capsules as soon as the vision started to go, I could fend of the attack.

    good luck!

Just checked the time tables and, weather permitting, they fly every weekday.

If any one has GPS co-ordinates or an idea of what constitues “central Wales” I’d be very grateful.

Incidentally, is anyone going to Duxford on 27th May for the Jubilee Airshow?

Actually, I was quite short of luggage space. As well as my helmet I was wearing 2 pairs of trousers, 3 T-shirts, 2 jumpers and a coat. Took it all off again as soon as I had passed through check-in, silly rule, but it doesn’t count to the weight if you are wearing it. It was fine at Birmingham, someone less cofortable when i had to put it all back on to change planes in Dubai…

lololol I’ve never gone to that length, but did wear 2 jackets getting onto a plane once for the same reason.

We used to drive to Spain for 2 weeks at Estartit, or Italy for 2 weeks at Lake Garda.

4 adults, me and my sister all in a Vauxhall Victor with a double length roof rack 🙂

    Fantastic holidays. Happy days indeed.

Isn’t one of the most annoying things, when a woman is trying to navigate her way out of a shop car park whilst trying to turn the wheel with one hand and on the phone with the other?
