Sounds good to me and it says their effort will be acknowledged.

It applies to everyone, so maybe, and its just my opinion, it will give the more fortunate children in society a chance to help out in communities they might otherwise not get a chance to intergrate with and the less fortunate children a chance to see that there is some value in life, even if their position looks very bleak.

Of course a scheme like this will never be perfect – you know how hard it is just to get teenagers to wash the dishes ffs, but good effort for trying.

    🙂

Thanks for pointing that our Rich.

I’m sure that things like this sometimes don’t occur to people and even if you already know it, it diesn’t hurt to read it.

My Gran is 98 this year. Her short term memory went about 12 years ago. She has no memories of anything that has happened in the last 12 years, because there’s been no short term memory to move into long term memory. Plus now thats she’s so old she can’t remember much from pre 12 years ago ayway!

Gran wishes she could just “go”.

I remember her from when she used to look after me in the school hols 35 years ago and it’s heartbreaking to see her now.

Given the choice, i would rather pass away younger than live to 98 but have no memory of it and be constantly confused and scared, which is what she is.

🙁 I wish there was something I could do gran.

OK for the record, in case anyone wants to make me a charitable donation, it is ALL about the zeros on the cheque.

Glad we cleared that one up 🙂

    From when I was a kid . . . .

Jaws – To this day I still make sure I’m not the furthest person out to sea when I swim – so that someone else is easier shark bait than me. I even view big swimming pools with suspicion! 🙂

Dr Who – Some of the Jon Pertwee episodes with “The Master” scared me when I was 10. There was one about witchcraft in particular, but also the one where the maniquins came alive and had guns that came out of their hinged wrists 🙁

The Texas Chainsaw Masacare – Watched it at a friends and he had to walk me home at midnight afterwards! I was about 16. Slept with the light on for a week after that 🙂

    It was a good race.
I liked the way JB slowed down on the last lap so he could boot it over the line once the safety car had moved out the way 🙂

Oh I can vouch for “legal cover” too btw!

It cost me about £17 IIRC, and it was invaluable. Basically within a day or so of the accident my case was handed over to a third party legal team who took care of all the car hire stuff etc. That was particularly useful because it meant I didn’t have a nagging doubt in the back of my mind that her insrance company would actually pay the hire bill!

This insurance bollocks really pisses me off.

I had a nice little car, which happened to be yellow, which I really liked. I chose it over lots of red and green ones of the same model, ‘cos they were ten-a-penny.

Idiot woman pulled out in front of me – wrote my car off. She admited full liability. The settlement they offered was for a “similar” car ie red or green. These were selling for a good grand less than my one had been worth.

In the end I couldn’t replace the car with the money they gave me with one I liked so I bought something completely different and spent the difference on other stuff.

The stupid thing is, her insurance company took ages to have my car assesed and happily paid for me to drive around in a hire car for 8 or 9 weeks, including a 2000 mile trip abroad. the hire bill was around 2 grand.

If they’d offered me the original amount, plus half what they paid in the hire charge, I’d have been happy.

    muppets.

Brazil’s President, while meeting Gordon Brown, has said the global financial crisis was caused by “white people with blue eyes”.

So what colour are the people responsible? I’d bet money on the majority of them being white?

m-f – I never could get into Sabbath with Ozzy, but like nearly all their stuff since. Even the album with Ian Gillan that no one else seems to like!

And Ozzy post Sabbath has always amazing.

I chose BATM for nostalgic reasons, bit Randy really was the master.
