Do they still do that ****t idea of measuring the downtube rather than toptube to give a ‘more accurate’ size? Bunch of twonks.

Nice little sea otter kit feature, tho. Baaaah!

Ton, are you feeling any flex in the rear end? Are the dropouts aligned perfectly with each other? Possibly a hub with a larger axel could be what is needed?

Agree with alpin. Having ridden since ’86, everyone should have 5 years on a non sus bike to hone skillz

Is it sad that I still call a hardtail a front sus?

Bearing in mind the possible long term implications, I’d let him know asap.

She can’t think much of him to sh@g someone on holiday, behind his back and then lie about it.

I was a rock kid so wasn’t ‘allowed’ to like the Who and The Jam at the time. Love ’em both.
Kinks, Hendrix, Jesus and Mary chain, eels, nouvelle vague. Came to them late.
Now i find that if i like a song, whatever genre, I’ll give the artist a go.

How about a cunning arangement of mirrors through the house to give your wife sky in the kitchen. Just watch out where she stands….. she may catch on

Hope it all works out with the SO

As has been said, check your contract regarding cancellations.

Bear in mind the caterer would possibly be booked up many months in advance with very little time to arrange another gig. They may have already paid suppliers for food, booked staff, etc

Olly, maybe they thought to remove one ball bearing from each bearing to save a little weight :D

Can’t coment on the Anthem X, but my ’07 carbon anthem frame is going as well as ever. Running with 100mm forks to take the edge off slightly. Superb bike with lovely sharp handling.

Original bearings are still going, but i do clean and regrease then every 6 months. They’re not full compliment so will be replaced in a couple of months (betd do the enduro bearing kit for about £40)

Anthem x1 did get the what mtb bike of the year in the latest issue (sub copy arrived sat)

Just did my Jones bars with some of the brooks leather tape. It’s expensive and alright, but not ‘mazin. Was a present so can’t complain. Looks quiye nice with the wooden bar plugs.

If the spec of the goods is the same, inform them you are changing supplier as you can source them at a better price.
I wouldn’t think you had any comeback as you have accepted their written quotes. Possibly you are a little remiss in not checking other prices previously. Easy to do if you feel you can (could) trust them.

40 last August. Still feel the same way I did when I was 25. Possibly my body can’t keep up….

Anyway, it’s an excuse for a celebration and treat!!

Used a SS ceramic BB for about 9 months. Not a single problem. I did re-grease it after 6 months as regular maintainance. Can’t say there was much grease in there. No problems with their brakepads either.

I notice Neil from superstar doesn’t seem to post on STW anymore (or does he???)

Fuzzy, try your bike with 100mm forks if you can. Makes a difference.

wiredchops, the mod was suggested after backing out the adjustment screw as much as possible.

Just checked mine (shadow) and it is approx 1-2 mm further away than my old xtr.

Anything that might help the OP :-)

I’m sure i read somewhere (mtbr.com?) that people were having better luck with the shadow mechs with a little bid of modification to bring the top jockey wheel closer to the casette as it runs slightly further away than a ‘normal’ mech. It just involved a little filing to allow the mech to curl around a little more.

XTR shadow here and no real problems. I do find it needs a little more maintainance to keep super sweet, tho.

’07 advanced with 100mm forks here. Slackens the head angle just enough to be perfect with 20% sag.

    Reccomended

Not bought and sold much over the years, but never had problems. Usually sent stuff as the cheque has arrived. So thanks to everyone i have dealt with.

Although, sold a red flite saddle a couple of years ago and found the uncashed cheque a few weeks ago!! Still, no worries as it wasn’t much.

Got some nice stickers from Mr Burt when my daughter was v. ill. She loves him still

Have used fsa carbon bars in the past and found them very good.
Apart from bling, I can’t see any noticable benefits from a carbon stem at the moment.

Cycle surgery were doing the Sugi Gustovs at about £55 a pair a while ago.

Just had a check, and they still are. The liners are superbly comfy.
