I’m probably going park at Castleton on the way up to the broken road and ride from there

I’m riding over too and have been wondering where would be best to watch from, did think about the track that overlooks Ladybower on the way up to Whinstone Lee Tor

Lovely looking bike that. (Explains why insurance premiums are so high 😉)

Hope you’re enjoying the Peregrine too.

Just been today as it happens! Recieved a letter from GP a couple of weeks ago inviting me to go for a MOT, had a blood test last week for cholesterol and blood sugar then rest of the check up today.

Nurse said I’ll get another one in 5 years. I’m 48 btw

Superstar also used to do one that lasted well, I had a couple that easily outlasted the skf ones.

Pollenase, itsi basically the same stuff as beconase but it’s cheaper from my local chemist. The active ingredient is beclometasone dipropionate. I find it takes a few days to build up into my system so it’s no good just using it when I get the symptoms.

    Edit, what seosamh77 said

Tried it last year after having to start wearing glasses, the optician put my lenses in the first time and made me have a couple of goes before she let me take them away. Iirc you need to have a separate eye test anyway and as mentioned above get a free trial.

I soon got used to putting them in but getting them out can be a pain, I stopped wearing them towards the end of the trial after not being able to get either of them out and causing myself a load of pain. I now just stick to glasses, I’ve got a pair of vairifocals I wear day to day and a pair of single vision Oakley’s for riding and running.

Could be tree pollen, I’ve been suffering for the last couple of weeks although not too bad yet. It’s definitely hayfever though, I know what it feels like after 40 ish years!

I had a similar problem last week, if you email the German address on the website and tell them what you want they will sort you out. Really good service from them. Ordered Monday afternoon and it arrived Thursday morning.

I have it in my left little finger and have had corrective surgery twice in the same place, last time was September last year, and it was contracted almost 90 degrees, it back to about 40 degrees now and that’s the best I can expect.

I was told depending on the joint affected it can either be released fully or may be permanently bent, below is what it looked like before the last surgery. as mentioned above it will keep you off the bike for a few weeks.

I’ve also go it in my thumb and on the palm of my hand but as yet they are not causing any issues.

Has anyone else in the family got it? Any Vikings in the family ;-) ?

No direct experience but my niece who’s 5 is coeliac and my dad makes gluten-free bread in his bread maker and I’m pretty sure she doesn’t eat it.
I think she prefers so sort of gluten free crackers

No offence as its a work colleague etc but they are the arseholes who want banning!

^ Yep, he passes another guy I work with who cycles to work and he says he drives like a dick head, he is exactly the reason why the law only allowing 6 points for new drivers was brought in.

    Edit

Thing is he could have had a speed awareness course the first time but didn’t send the paperwork back in time so he ended up with 3 points

Lad I work with just got done for doing 47 in a 30 limit, don’t know what the penalty will be as he is probably going to court.
It’s his second speeding offence this year and he already has 3 points but he also hasn’t been passed his test 2 years so there is a high probability he will have his licence revoked as if you get 6 points in your first 2 years of driving you lose you licence.

Garmin forerunner 25 will sync directly to Strava on your phone if you’re looking for a cheaper option. Mine was £100 from Argos (was probably about a year ago) but can’t fault it for what I want.
Got a long battery life too.

With the hammer the trails get now, I’m kind of past caring how widely they are shared.

This is kinda how I look at it. I’ve been riding the same trail’s for 25 year’s and I’m not about to stop any time soon.
Looking at it another way there was once only a river running down the valley we are talking about, now there’s the A6 a railway line and a canal which have all done more ‘damage’ to the surrounding area than a slightly wider/muddier trail than used to be there.
In the great scheme of things there’s more to worry about :-)

oldejeans – so you’re allowed to ride the trails, but others aren’t? They are well documented enough to not be precious about them. Suck it up sunshine

My thoughts exactly! If you stuck to tracks that didn’t get muddy in the area’s mentioned above then you’d be riding Cromford Canal and the High Peak trail for 11 months of the year

Any physicists able to say either way ?

I’m not in any way a physicist but a caravan is being pulled by the towbar and a bike rack is just pushing down on it. Also one has wheels and the other doesn’t. :D
My car has a 75kg nose weight limit and a 1750kg towing limit, go figure!
As I see it it’s nothing to do with how strong the towball is but how much load the car manufacturers think is safe to push down on the rear of the car without upsetting the handling and making it dangerous to drive.
