Had a discussion with a colleague at work the other and he seemed quite put out when I said I wasn’t his ‘friend’.
I believe a friend is someone you socialise with not just work along side.
I work with about 30 lads of varying ages (production line in car factory). Half of them I don’t speak to, don’t work near them. Other half I’ll speak to if they speak to me, about half of that number I’ll have a conversation with. About 4 I would willing go out for a drink with!
We settled on ‘work friends’ to make him feel better!

I refunded a buyer once and it went through as an e cheque as my bank account wasn’t linked to my pay pal. Took about 7 days for the buyer to be able to get at the funds. Still doesn’t explain how it’s gone to pending after you’ve withdrew it though?

6000+ employees over a combination of office staff, 2+3+4 shift workers. Loads of people lift share not sure how many spaces. Only a problem days to lates. The biggest pain is trying to get of the car park at the end of a shift. Bike sheds but I wouldn’t leave my bike in one, bikes continually go missing.

Put the reg number into we buy any car etc to see what there (low) offer is

WBAC take the mick though. They offered me £150 for a car in better condition/spec than equivalent ones selling for ~£1800 on autotrader and eBay.

Hence why I said add £1k

The seller will have probably done the same, add £1k if you don’t want to lowball them and start from there

How about a 30 page risk assessment in advance and a note from your mum?
Or you could try not to ride like a self-entitled dickhead when you’re in public areas.

Only one person on this thread coming across as a dickhead and they aren’t in the video!

    Update:
Tap arrived today, ran it through swing arm and all good! 🙂
Looks like the pivot bolt has stripped and left itself in swing arm. Tap cleaned thread out, tried good pivot bolt and went straight in and torqued off no problem.
New pivot bolt set ordered from jungle today!
Dropped stiff cycles and Santa Cruz a thank you email to for their help.

It’s not a and thing really, I wish I’d spent the money on an early MOT before getting other work done on last car, fast forward a handful of months and the emergency work to get it back on the road was looking a bit worthless. Almost a phantom MOT before major or even minor work, as cars get older?

My local garage will do a “pre MOT” basically a MOT without the paperwork for £20

Thing with mot is all it states is that the car was roadworthy at that time on that day.
You could pass mot, drive away, Change headlights, put bald tyres on etc and still have a valid mot but an unroadworthy car…..

Of course you’d be an idiot to do so!

Put your reg number in here to check your mot status

Yes, your car still had a valid mot. But you could be driving an unroadworthy car and in theory be prosecuted for that, highly unlikely though

Having looked again at frame the thread isn’t completely stripped, when you run your finger over you can feel the thread. Once tap arrives I’ll try to run that through to see if that cleans the tread out. Already ordered new pivot bolts as that was fubar! So still not quite sure if the thread in frame is shot or it’s just full of crap from bolt.
At least I know a swing arm is available if it is completely knackered!!

Santa Cruz can supply a new swing arm if all else fails for only……..£300! Gulp!

With my car the insurance quotes came down when I added my wife as named driver and fully comp was cheaper than TPFT…..it’s a black art!

We have two cars, I am the legal owner and register keeper of both. We each have our own policy’s and are named drivers on each other’s policy.
Never been a problem with any of the main stream insurance companys.

Think I may have found a solution if tap doesn’t work!
Going through the SC tech sheets the Bronson V2 uses the same dimension pivot bolt except with a 1.5 pitch thread.
    Found this on line
    https://www.lawson-his.co.uk/recoil-37158-m15-x-1-5-pro-xl-medium-fine-thread-repair-kit?gclid=CNCc-Ma69tMCFcgp0wod7a0IUQ

So all hope is not lost without having to go down the engineering route.

    Phew!

Thanks for all the suggestions and ideas!

Just a thought, could you not re tap the thread on the bolt to m14 (or another smaller size, maybe imperial?) and use a helicoil of the new size in the hole?

This is a technique used by a company I used to work for where the parts were often machined to the limit so removing to much material from the nut part of the thread was a no go.

    POSTED 5 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST

Not sure if that would work, the drill size for a m14 heli coil is 14.3mm so the thread hole in frame is already larger than that.

I had to tap my bronson v1 in the same area, fortunately its been ok since.

Seen the same thing on a few SC frames.

The tread is still there just chewed up, so hopefully it’ll work! Nobody does a m15 x 1 sleeve/repair so it would have to be custom.

Ordered a tap to see if I can salvage the existing thread…….fingers crossed!

    M15 x 1.0? That is a very odd size. Found M15 x 1.5 and M5 x 2.0 but only taps and dies in 1.0.

    Yep!!

    Soooo…..the bolt is M15 x 1.0 pitch.

helicoil don’t make a fitment in that size so far as i can see…..bugger!

It’s an alloy frame and I’m not original owner so warrenty doesn’t apply 🙁

A helicoil will remove an insignificant amount of material

Any idea how to figure what size I need?
