Got mine on Voda a few weeks back. It's screwed the default web browser. BBC sites with video now crash unless I switch of java. Video content worked fine with 2.1.

Can't say I've noticed any real difference to speed or owt.

Try Mobile Phones Direct Their phones come unbranded and quite often have good deals. I've had very good service from them in the past.

I've got a friend who's just taken over a bike shop. When digging through the stock he found among other things, boxed 5 speed free cassettes and campag chrome toe straps.

Just in case any retro racer fans out there need spares.

Just pre-ordered the new Ben Folds one where he's written the music and Nick Hornby has written the lyrics.

    Nice, I like old racers.

My wife just got hold of her late dads 1987 Raleigh Triathlon. It hadn't moved in over 15 years but all it needed was air in the tyres and off it went. I've sent it off to be powder coated and she'll use it to cycle to work.

Mabie red if you like the man made feel of trail centres.

Drumlanrig if you want something more natural. No real big climbs but flowing singletrack and a lot less crowded than Glenstress.

Old women licking ice cream from a cone really freaks me. Especialy if it's the soft Mr Whippy type. The way they drag their tongues along and it dribbles on their chin. **** they're discusting.

Ah, can't get what they've not got I suppose.

I'd say the Desire is worth waiting for til they've got stock. Now running android 2.2.

There's some good free gps tracking apps available.

    Why no HTC?

The HTC Desire is a good phone but if the phone company aren't offering it at least try for the Wildfire. Very nice little phone.

You really are in the middle of nowhere.

Closest trail centre will be kirrie.

Seen it done a few times years ago. Rik from Drum's wee brother did it but that was on an Orange Missile. Think he broke his Bombers on the landing though.

My brother-in-law just started a job in Kandahar 2 weeks ago. He was really struggling to find a job in this country so it was either take it or loose the house, etc. He's left his wife and two your kids back here. So far he's coping OK, using skype, facebook, etc to keep in touch. If you've any specific questions then email me and I'll ask him.

    Cheers

Skype have apps for some mobile, check Skype site for list. I know there isn't one for android yet but could be 3rd party one. Not sure how good 3g would be for Skype calls. You'd not be long in munching through your data allowance.

What a very thoughtful daughter you have.

I'll need to search out a bottle or two of that one. Very nice sounding indeed.

    Happy birthday for tomorrow.

I had to make a claim on my house insurance. When I took out the policy the compulsory excess was £50 but I opted for a voluntary excess of £100. When I made the claim I had to pay the first £150. I didn't realise they added the two together, thought it was just upping the excess from £50 to £100.

Jeez that seems like a lot extra.

I just took out building and contents insurance with them last night including accidental damage on both parts with bike cover for £327 all in.

Have they reduced your excess to £0 or something? That would bump it up quite a bit.

I'll find ticks on me during almost every ride here in SW Scotland. Usually brush them off before the little buggers bite. My riding buddies rarely get them. I must smell nice to them or something.

It is very nice. They do it in 750ml bottles for when you're really thirsty. Had a couple last night. Mmmm beer.

Very funny guy. I've read them loads of times.

The Armageddon series are also worth a read, they're a bit weird but very funny also. Characters include Elvis, The Dahli Dan and a time traveling brussel sprout called Barry.

I've used Mazuma Mobile a few times and they are quite quick and sending out payment. If you google "recycle mobile for cash" there are a few price comparison sites that might get you more for it but read the reviews first. Some take an age to pay up or say phones aren't working and give you less.

Another vote for PrimoPDF. Been using it for years also, installs as a printer. Never had any problems.

That's weird, I was just about to ask the same question.

    Are crank bros reliable?

if you're taking off the "free cassette" on the old wheel and replacing it with a free wheel single sprocket then you'll probably need to re dish the rim and space the hub over a bit to get the correct chain alignment.

if you're going to fixie it then the same applies but remember that a screw on fixed cog will try and unscrew itself when you slow down the cranks with your legs. not so much of a problem if you keep the brakes fitted though.

check out london fixed gear or somewhere similar for more advice.

    have fun.

get a half link chain to help with limited tension adjustment.

Damn right. Purely from a educational point of view of course.

If he goes for the Lou & Andy look he needs to point at Paula and say "Want that one", then once he's married her he'll need to go "don't like it"

Good suggestion Andrew. Can you see the future Mrs V up for that on her big day though?

I'm sure there will be a few of us with cameras at the ready.

If you have a Vodafone mobile on contract they do home broadband/phone package for £25. This includes line rental, broadband, free calls to land lines at any time and caller ID. They also do a little gadget thing that guarantee 5 bar mobile reception at your home for a £50 on off fee.

Been with them for about two years without any problems.

The thickness of the acrylic can vary a lot between cheap and dearer baths. See if you can get the spec of the thickness before you buy over the net.

I did a 50 mile charity road event at the weekend on the fixie. Worst bit is not being able to freewheel downhill which means braking/slowing the cranks down. My legs were goosed come the end but the worst bit was my arse ached from not being able to stand up on the downhills and relieve the pressure. Flipped the wheel back to SS again, much happier that way.

Mrs Sqwubbsy had hers done a several years ago. I liked it a lot, very sexy. She took them out before our first son was born.

You should get your tongue done at the same time, she might like it. 😉

I'm 37. Brought up in Lochmaben but now live in Dumfries.

The local primary school gets good HMI reports so ideal for my young family.

Sure Lochside & Sandside are rough but you get that most places.
