80 grit sandpaper for a good key and B&Q epoxy.

I never gelled with the 29er but the 650 feels really sweet. Obviously, I work for them so take that with a pinch of salt. The back end has more traction than pretty much any bike I’ve ever ridden.

The forks and shock will likely require some fine tuning to suit your riding style but I found both more adjustable than the previous Pike Monarch combo.

I’d have no trouble making it a one bike quiver if I had to.

I’m not one for mentioning work brand stuff, but the EL Guapo /Selcof Pro hubs are bloody good for the money. Jap stainless bearings, 72POE, very good sealing all round and lighter than Hope (just).

Mech hangers only fail a couple of ways. Either they get pushed into the spokes by being pressed up against something or they get sucked into the spokes by incorrect rear mech adjustment. Neither are the suppliers fault. Only the second could be if they fitted it.

You just have to suck it up.

I’ll weigh it on Monday, it’s not heavy though.

Different forks, cranks, FSA headset, Rapidfire not thumbies.

It’s probably not NOS. More than likely just repainted. There’s loads of them about now that prices are on the up. Buy a shagged looking one, fill it, respray it, hey presto instant profit.

Use, less, thinner, rim tape, it makes things easier.

I’ve been playing with a carbon 27.5+ lately and it’s quite a fun thing, the grip levels are remarkable until speed gets so high that you’d want suspension anyway. Feels a whole load faster than a similar carbon framed fat bike. I could make do with one of these for a lot of fun riding.

I always think you get a better crown race seat on an ally steerer, but I’ve never had a carbon on come loose so maybe it’s just the look of the thing. You can’t argue with the weight saving though, almost as much as a good shit.

Renthal Fat carbon lite, unless your going huge they’re all you’ll ever need.

I can’t think of the last time we had a carbon fork back with a steerer failure that didn’t involved not putting a fork bung in it. Both of them are solid bits of kit, just make sure the rake angle and length is right for your frame.

Has to be this, followed by the Ti mega Alpinestars, and then the first Klein Adroit

Decent anodized nipples should be enough for several years use even on carbon, with a bit of Ti prep for good measure they should last as long as the spokes. (3 year old lightbike rims, CXrays and anodized nipples)

I think I do my bit for local trials I’ll do dig days whenever and I understand that I’m also digging for out of towners as well. As long as they don’t leave their Rockstar/Redbull and tear offs on the trails I’m happy.

The Pivots might look 1998 Giant, but the linkage is lighter and laterally stiffer than the 29er version. I always found the 29er short, the 27.5 corrects that and is more capable in the rough.

What other colours would people like to see?

I’ve only ever had 2 pairs of forks let go, Totem Solo airs, which were renowned for it and the first pair of Pace MXCD to leave the factory which blew the contents of the damping cart straight into my face.

There’s only one thing that separates the best machine and hand built wheels, and that’s the application of lateral force to the spokes at their crossing points as they are built.

Otherwise you could (if so desired) set the machine to just as accurate a tolerance as the good handbuilt guys use. Decent handbuilt wheels will be stress relieved and rolled about a bit before a second truing, machine built may not be though some manufacturers do.

mmm, 650+ testing this weekend, carbon or Hadza? I wonder which i’ll take.

I’d normally reinforce it will a tapered cone of black epoxy, that’s what i use on fragged Di2 cables, Sugru will do just as well though.

Marzocchi are a quality brand with a reputation for serious durability, they have production booked for the entire 2016 season and spares availability for all the current models out way beyond that.

No matter who buys them you’ll still be riding your 2016 zokes long after everyone else has worn out their current fox and rockshox forks.

All the Titus bikes are proto’s hence the stickers and raw. Bish bash comes in black also. The Mesa Verde is captain America, intentionally- I quite like it’s unapologetic obviousness.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by during the show, it was good to put a few names to faces yesterday.

    Full show report coming soon

Top of eccy road. Do you need 4.2 or 8.4? I have both types of chargers, battery packs and an intellicharger.

@officerfriendly, what other info would you like to see in the descriptions? Between the description, build list and geometry most of it should be covered. If there’s anything else think applicable let me know and I’ll add it. There should be a size guide showing for the Fatty Trail but for soem reason its not loading, it’s on the to do list with IT.

I’ve tested the Hesperus and the Fatty Trail, the Bluto wins the day for me, though the Hesperus is stupid light and crazy high spec with those HED rims and Tune hubs.

The Fatty Trail uses a new rim, deeper sidewall, less burping at low pressures and a chunk of change lighter than the old Fatty wheels. It’s also running the El Guapo Fat Bike hubs which are six pawl, 72 POE and as good as any hub at anywhere near sensible money. They are at least as good as Hopes and sealed for British conditions.

Mine has a little cloak made of 2mm neoprene, ziptied top and bottom wrapped around from back of post with front left gaping like a Denim aftershave advert.

Haven’t serviced it in two years. Still sweat as a nut. Might be the UKs longest lived Reverb…

The carbon tubbed xls is a couple of pounds lighter than the clincher wheel version. The cx1 xls with carbon tubs is the same weight as my Viner road bike..

Funkmaster, I’m your height. Same inseam, and I’m plus six ape index. I’d usually go for the small with 70mm stem. But I like my bikes chuckable. My road bike is 54 with 120 stem if that helps.

You boys don’t miss a trick. That was only up for half a day while we were testing some website features. It’ll be on show at the NEC bike show along with quite a few other new On-one bikes.

    We’ve been busy… ;-)

Just updating the On-one geometry charts all the new ones will include reach and stack. All given with forks uncompressed.

One decent wet road ride picking up bits of grit in your blocks is usually enough to trash any carbon rim. Worth bearing in mnd.
