Rumour has it they will do £1099 over the weekedn on the Ultegra if you ask nicely.

They upgraded from a 105/10speed Ultegra mix and held the previous pricing. It was always a limited time deal, had you asked in shop the staff would have told you that. Limited to 1000 bikes AIUI.

It’s still a cracking deal when the competitors price range for a similarly specced 11 speed Ultegra bike is from £1400-£2100 depending on brand.

Off road no, I need to hear my bike under me. On road, in town, no, out of town almost always.

Its clearly in the bike spec on their website. 180.

No you can’t use them at PX/oo

Given that PX sells pretty much zero double crown forks the warranty dept is hardly likely to be full of Boxxer boffins, so yes they likely would take Fishers at their word.

Shit breaks, you haul ass on the jumps you are going to crack stuff. I’m more than confident that i’ll never stress my carbon rims beyond their durability. MTBR is home of the nasty smear campaign, always has been when the vested interests come out to protect themselves.

One rim does not a summer make. Just looking at the way LB rims are sold, direct to customer accounts for them being 50% less expensive than any other brand, add in their none US labour and that accounts for them being half as much as ENVE rims once again.

There’s really no story here other than rider no one knows breaks part in unconfirmed circumstances. And given we’ve all seen broken ENVE rims at £800 who really cares.

I run 53/39 and 11-28 out back. I’m 85kg and that gets me up Winnat’s Pass. A compact and 11-28 should allow you to ride up anything.

I did my ankle on Feb 7th, a few chips to the bone floating round and a lot of soft tissue damage with some ligament shredding. It still swells up like a mother f_cker, it sits off to one side as the ligaments on the left side of my ankle are really thin. I reckon it’ll be 6 months before it’s back to full stability and I doubt I’ll ever recover the full range of motion i had before.

    Welcome to being old……

CB are vague in and out they lack tension adjustment, which may be important to you. Also they are sloppy at the top of the stroke if you pull up hard as you pedal.

Shimano are more difficult to get into but more consistent to exit, they block with mud more easily, but frankly by that time your tyres will be so caked in mud they’ll barely turn.

    Go spd.

Spokes snap, especially at the bend. 700km is pushing their generosity. If you’re a frequent flyer at the shop then I’d expect a freebie, if not then you are relying on their goodwill.

Strip tyre and tube off and take it in during a quiet period. A spoke shouldn’t cost more than £2 and fitting it no more than 5 minutes including a re-tension. Take some beer in and you’ll be golden.

I use a strip of Dacron repair cloth from my kitesurfing repair kit, been on the frame for years, wears better than helitape.

Jamiesilo, the sizing guides are good for what they are, there’s no substitute for swinging a leg over the bike in question.

Find out how tall he is, if he’s smack in the middle of a model size, all well and good. If he’s inbetween sizes, and if he has long legs go for the larger size, if he’s inbetween and has short legs go for the smaller size and add 10mm to the stem length.

As long as he’s not some midget torso’d, giant legged orangutang armed freak, like I am, he’ll be fine.

Drop the Ponza saddle, get the ti railed team3d, you might have to speak to a real human to get that on your order. Add the PX mini tri bars as well.

I’m interested in the outcome of Brant’s enquries into the initial question re the Boxers.

People should also remember the correct response to the line” we showed the importer, they said it was fine”. And it is…. ” f-ck you, why do I give a shit what they say, that’s your problem, my contract is with you. So refund me or give me product of merchantable quality”.

“This really annoys me about planet x/on one, I love the product and I love the way Brant, comes here holds his hands up and tries to sort things out. But why isn’t the rest of the staff being so accommodating?”

In my experience they are. But sometimes you just genuinely can’t pull a rabbit out of a hat and end up too far down the rabbit hole in search of the same solution when you should have called it quits, given up and tried a different approach to resolving the issue earlier on.

‘kinda epitomises On One’s customer service’

Really? you must know a different Brant to everyone who frequents these boards then. He bends over backwards to ensure everyone is happy.

You want to stop those Chinese substituting hub grease for jet wash water, then you’d get fewer warranty wheel claims.

    1. Because we all fatties who like endless travel but want bikes stiff enough to climb with.

I blow through the travel on my Meta sx unless it’s at 200psi.
