I went five or six years ago. Loved it, nice DH bike park. There’s nothing at aloe gang itself but I stayed in Saalbach about 20 minutes drive away. Saalbach is a nice village and will be a better bet for the Other Half. It also has DH and xC tracks and at least one of the hotels is bike friendly.

Go for it. I took a Gemini with 2.5″ tyres and it was great. Anything similar or bigger would be a good choice.

Though to be fair your Captain Sikh America is a cracking photo. 🙂

Jamie – stop it right now. There are only three acceptable accents for Sikhs – cut-glass English, Indian and Glaswegian.

    Fact.

I once got a taxi driven by a Sikh. In Seattle. He had an American accent and it was wrong, wrong, wrong.

Anyone else? The collective wisdom the SingltrackMind must be able to write a guidebook on this one, surely?

    >…Back from the garage.

For posterity and future users of the Forum Search function, there was enough space in the XC setting but the tyre was in contact with the seat tube in FR setting, as suggested above. I was using Mavic X19 rims and Maxxis Swampthing 2.3″ tyres.

    Thanks very much guys.

Ooh, one other hing. Will have a different stroke change anything? Will it feel any different?

I notice brake jack so I am a bit of a Princess and the Pea type of rider 😳

    Hi cynic-al,

Do you mean measure the eye-to-eye with the swing arm collapsed and the rear tyre against the seat tube and no shock in place?

5’8″, 32″ and 16″ here. I think it will be too small for you. I have a lot of seat post showing.

I’ve put it away for the summer but I’m struggling to see a reason to ever get rid of my Blue Pig.

Ok, I will have a morning online hunt to see what I can get my hands on. That’s for your quick advice.

Cheers z1ppy. Either way it definitely won’t work so I’ll need a new mech (or new knees if I keep riding it in 1×9 mode!)

Do you know the product code for your SLX mech, or is there only one.

Yes it’s fine. You just get a mix that has a specific weight that is somewhere between the two original oil weights.

@duncdan: cheers for that. Now I’ve worked out how to service RS forks it’s such a nice thing being free of the need to send them off. But RS haven’t made it super obvious what separates these two fork lines.

    Anyone ridden Sektors?

@Simon: any idea what the basic differences are between Sektors and Revelations?

Ah, quick bit of google action answered that one. Are they reliable? Anyone stripped and serviced one?

Which x-fusion fork? Or isit called a range?

I’ve seen those but I’m a bit hazy on the differences between the two forks. Revolutions seem more expensive and I assume they are betterer, any idea how?

Andy I have no idea what you do for a living but its not material to the discussion. The MP in question didn’t come out of things very well at the start but it really is starting to look like he might have telling the truth, or pretty much the truth, all along. And it really is starting to look like various police officers have spent time lying in an effort to get him sacked. That is profoundly worrying.

    Hi,

45 and bought a Blue Pig 2 yrs ago, just to avoid being That Guy when riding with my GF who was new to the sport. I have barely ridden my other bikes since, great fun and a better work out to boot.

I’ve had this a lot with Hope brakes, more with Mono Minis than M4s and never with V2s. It’s the spring that’s got bent and is catching on the holes in the rotor. If you don’t sort it put it will heat up the spring which will fail. Easy fix though, just carefully bend the free end of the spring so they are flush with the pad backing.

I think dirk_pumpa has it. Just back from the Man Cave after taking the Freehub apart. It was indeed pretty easy – the neighbours 7yr old daughter helped me do it!

The bearings are running fine but one of the springs is a little wonky. No idea what the pawls are supposed to look like but they weren’t obviously damaged. Cleaned everything, regressed the ratchet and put it back together. Still making the high pitched whiny sound and now with grease in it the ratchet is barely making a whisper. Time for new paws and springs I guess.

I presume if the ratchet is worn then it means a new hub body?

Just woken up and read this thread. Top Bombing. There are now tears rolling down my cheeks.

This is why Mother Nature invented 8 year old boys. They’ll poke it with sticks then spend the day throwing increasingly large stones/bricks at it. By the time their Mum calls them in for tea you will just have to wait for the rain to wash the liquified mess away. Sorted!

    Grum,

You can access the external drive from your AppleTV as long as its version 1 (silver) and you’ve hacked it. That is what I do, running XBMC on my AppleTV with all of my movie files on the external drive attached to the back of the AEBS. The drive is then also available on the network.

I don’t know if it’s possible with AppleTV v2 & 3 but it would be worth checking out the Firecore website for details of their hack for the black AppleTVs.

Another vote here for an Airport Extreme. I’ve had mine for about four years. As per Frankers I just plugged a 1TB drive into the back of it and use that as a NAS.

Thanks Edukator, that’s a good bargain option. When I tried googling for hotels in Paris it was a bit like trying to buy paracetamol in an American supermarket – I got paralysed by choice!

    Now then boys, play nicely!

Mama Shelter looks interesting. I’d be *slightly* nervous about railway hotels being more interesting than I’d planned though
