I just googles “caberjé” – the only time I have ever had Google return a single hit: Singletrack, obv. 😀

Got to semi-agree with Spin. Most Tarantino films are overrated but I watched Reservoir Fogs for the first time since release. Very very good. Jackie Brown deserves an honourable mention and one scene in Kill Bill but the rest is tosh.

Although he can be *slightly* forgiven for introducing me to Christopher Waltz.

How fast is an acceptable refresh rate? To be fair I have no idea what the refresh rate on the current TV is.

Hmmm. The downstairs TV is 40″

Perhaps I should replace that and “repurpose it” upstairs.

How big did you go and how far away from the screen do you sit? The TV downstairs is a Sony.

About 3 feet below the top of the ponds. And about 3 inches above the patio 😯

I did consider the What-The-Hell method. But 9,000 litres of water poised precariously just 8ft from my rear window (no pun intended) was making me twitch.

It’s not a humble-brag, honest. But it would be if I also mentioned that I get tired walking from the living room to the kitchen 😛

Never had a pond before so the idea that heavy rain might result in an overflow simply hadn’t occurred to me. I vaguely assumed that there would be some sort of automatic self-levelling mechanism 😳

The STW forum is referred to as “The Boys” in Spw3 Towers.

Mrs spw3 asks me “Why don’t you just ask The Boys?” on an almost weekly basis.

I have a version 1 bike set up with 140mm version 1 Pikes, flat pedals and 1×9 (30t NW and 12-36 cassette mind). Really like it. Climbs well for something designed to hoon down hill. Not planning on selling.

Oh, looks like a gate in anything larger than 16″ size.

Yes he was. The tight fitting muzzle made me feel infinitely better about it though!

Any chance of some pics? I’m feeling all cycletour-curious.

Ooh NCB, that looks like just the ticket.

Now all I need to do is work up the energy to dismantle the front of the GFs bike to measure the bearings…

    My GF is 5’2″

A ‘Petite’ Cannondale hard tail was too short.

She now has a 14″ One One 456 and it is bob-on.

Watch out for the (completely reversible) impotence too. Awkward subject so almost never mentioned in consultations.

Now I’m doubting again. Pikes on?

And yes, MrsSPW3 is definitely lighter than you Euro (she might be reading this…)

Or alternatively it’s exactly the right bike for Mrs SPW3 and she’s going to love it…maybe.

Well, the Reba is already in it so it looks like I’ve just saved myself the effort of swping forks on Saturday.

Rumour has it the weather is going to warm up to a balmy 11 degrees in WestMidlandshire so we might even get to test it.

Given the hideous mix of parts bin components bolted to it I would like to extend my apologies to anyone unfortunate enough to clap eyes on it.

I have a vague recollection the Pikes are u-turn. Never used it before but ran them on my Blue Pig so seemed to suit the bike at full extension.

Hmmm, I may have misunderstood the point of the frame – I assumed it was for stuffing in a big fork and whizzing it down the side of hills in the Alps.

To add to the Saab love,

I’m still driving my 2005 9-5 Aero (Hot) 2.3 litre petrol estate. It’s not been the most reliable car in the world but for some reason I really like it.

    Bad things:
It’s 4.8m long and doesn’t fit in most parking bays or garages.
    It doesn’t go round corners.
It only gets 25 mpg round town.

    Good thing:
    The boot is huge.
The seats are the most comfortable seats I have used.
It’s great for driving to the Alps.
It gets 39 mpg at a steady 70mph.
The long flat roof is great for carting my longboard down to the SW.
When you have a collision the other car is wrecked and the Saab is scratched.
It does well in snow, albeit with snow tyres.
Oh and it’s fast enough in Sport mode to drop most of the rear bumper bellends on the road, at motorway speeds at least.

That’s why I’m still driving it at 179,000 miles and have no intention of selling it.

You are asking for medical advice on a cycling forum.

    Therefore

You have no idea what you are talking about.

    Therefore

You are not in a position to ask for anything.

    Therefore

You should let the doctor decide what to do.

    HTH.

MrsSPW3 and I have 10 bikes between us.

9 of them are 26″ and the 10th is my Kona Smoke pub bike.

I have no interest in other wheel sizes.

I’ve been staying out of this for the sake of my blood pressure but enough is enough.

Short term strikes reduce in-hospital mortality rates because:
    A. Patients avoid coming to hospital so those that die do so either die somewhere else or die in hospital after the strike.
    B. Routine operations are cancelled. You can’t get a fatal complication from an operation you didn’t have

    Hi DD,

    Is NowTV a Sky thing?

I have no issue paying btw, the ESPN stream cost me but was just very poor. No idea if that was a bandwidth thing though.

Awesome. Any ideas on where I can get one by Friday night?

Although I’m wary of “buying cheap, buying twice” so worry about the obvious answer of going straight back to B&Q etc
