Revolution? I’m with you if you fancy it.

    I’m in!

I’ve always been interested in politics, and have always read newspapers (of various viewpoints) and watch loads of news and QT. Frankly, these last few years, I couldn’t give a flying one now!

All my voting life (since 1977) I’ve lived in a succession of ‘safe seats’ of various colours and have come to realise that my vote actually means sweet fa. It’ll be another spoilt paper from me, until we get proportional representation or a revolution I have no voice that any of the self serving deluded morons in Westminster will listen to.

    I give up!

Have you tried using water in a spray bottle

    This

I had a collie/pointer X that would go mental and bite my front wheel for about half a minute when we went to the woods, a squirt of cold water from a washing up liquid bottle cured it in a week.

My current nutcase rescue goes mad at other dogs when he’s on the lead (off lead he’s fine), again, just getting the bottle out of my pocket is enough to stop him carrying on.

Much better than shouting as that just seems to ramp up the excitement.

    Bit dramatic rosey

No it’s not, I feel pretty much the same. Maureen has had his day, it’s like buying a 35yr old striker that used to be good.

I reckon Poch will go to Spain as there’s been rumours that his family isn’t happy here because of all the attention when they go out, probably poach Kane when he does!

    I wish him well.

That’s the plan. Nice and hot summer dusty, no mud!

is it a tough primer coat?

Seems to be so far. I was most impressed by how it didn’t cover up any small details even when I applied too much and it pooled on some of the wheel hubs, I just left it to dry and it seemed to shrink on! #airbrushbuffoonery

Is that airbrushed or out of a can?

Airbrushed. I used Mr Surfacer 1000 with their Leveling thinner, goes on really smooth and dries very quick!

I used to get that when i was younger from biting my fingernails right down, doctors advice was soak in warm saline until you can pop it, then try and swill it out with same. Worked every time.

Just had a week off work (hooray!), but also had a chest infection so no bike action (boo!), so had a bit of kit time while I’ve been sitting about (hooray!).
Finished assembling the Bronco Stug 3 after painting the interior, it’s a nice kit with some photo etch and a metal barrel included. The tracks were a sod to make as they are 93 links each, with 2 x 0.5mm track pins per link, and are quite fragile. They fully articulate though so they should look good when I get them on.

I used Mr Surfacer primer for the first time and loved it, going to stick with that from now on and may move on to their paint as it sprays so well. After priming I used Lifecolor German Grey acrylic for the base coat which went on nice and smooth as well, I think I may move on from Vallejo paints even though I’ve been happy with them so far.

So I downloaded Civ 6 and spent bloody hours on it, I get so far and then the AI kicks my ar5e all over the place (usually the Romans).

How the hell do I give myself a fighting chance?

Beyond the trappings of wealth and position, he’ll have made mistakes just like I have

I’m nearly the same age as him, and I’ve made lots of mistakes in my life, but none of them involve knocking about with a very young looking 17 year old whilst in my 40’s!

A pair of 1490 boots at work, my little kick against the office ‘business attire’ policy, and a pair of made in England 1461 shoes.

Both have yellow stitching, it must always be yellow stitching!

Another +1 for Drayton Wiser here.

Fitted it myself and it’s working fine, great for keeping the heating balanced nicely instead of the see-saw roasting/freezing cycle with our old thermostat.

Thanks for the input everyone, seems like a recordable Freesat box may be the thing to try.

Now for the next item on the list, broadband?

Virgin would be a front runner for this as we had it in our old house and it was fast and reliable, unfortunately broadband can only be delivered to this house by BT line as there’s no Virgin here, so which provider?

Ah, this was a conventional Sky+ box, rather than a fancy-pants Q box

This is what’s causing the doubt at the moment, mrsspursn17 likes the way she can record 3 things at once. I don’t mind using the online catch-up services such as iPlayer and all4, but she likes an old school recording and doesn’t handle tech stuff well.

In theory they could ask for it back, but I’ve never heard of them doing that

Sky said they want both of their Q boxes back and will be sending prepaid packaging for them.

Has anyone tried brush then roller over the top to smooth out the marks? Seems to be a technique used on painting boats and such.

Other way round, roller then finish with brush.

The quality of brush will make so much difference, I use Purdy Monarch Elite brushes and get a finish so smooth that I can see my reflection a bit in a painted flat panel door.
I use a small sponge roller on a radiator handle with oil based Leyland trade paint (eggshell and gloss).

It means that when people see you on Television they are drawn to you, think you are a great person etc,. even before they have said much.

Like Tony Blair, That turned out well didn’t it?

Definitely design and print. I need about 6 different size hose adapters to fit different tools for my garage vacuum, so that’ll be a starting point.

I have to say most of the novelty stuff people print leaves me cold.

    This

Just got to think of something to print that will justify buying it.

No2 son went to uni and had the loans as we were not big earners and couldn’t afford to fully fund him, he has now been working as a primary teacher for three years and because of the low salary pays off around £500 a year off the loan. The interest on the loan is 1500 a year so it’s effectively increasing even though he’s working.

Although uni was a great experience for him and made him grow up I would be wary of going to uni unless the earning potential afterwards was good, apprenticeships are a very decent alternative.

Seeing his loans statements makes me feel sick!

two tiered pricing structure to help out people without insurance

That’s one way to spin it i suppose.

The other way to spin it is that when the customer says it’s on the insurance the bill goes up, similar to car body repairers, the the insurance companies are milked and the cost is passed on via the premiums.

The only thing the review is liable to propose is a slightly lower line speed (around 190mph as opposed to 230mph)

Just build the damn thing and make it as good as we can!

Having recently travelled from London to Madrid by train I’ve seen how good it can be, HS2 may be costing a fortune, but if you want people so stop traveling by air this is needed.

I think so. I’ve only completed one kit this year with two WIPs.

The Mustang was the first kit I’ve started and finished within a year for a long while! Probably going to do a vehicle next, I’ve got a Bronco Stug III or a Russian SU85 that are contenders for the next build. Or it could be a Tiger, another Tiger, a Panther, a Wespe, a T72, an LRDG Chevy truck, a PzIII, or a Möbelwagon 😂

I made this case for our WWI squaddie, feels like we’ve given him a home now.

It’s one of the 888,246 that were in the Tower of London ‘Blood Swept Lands And Seas Of Red’ installation, I used to pass it on my way to work and it always made my eyes moist!

@JonEdwards – those are two lovely models, great weathering and paint. Well done sir! 👏🏻

Agreed. Top job on the Martlet, especially the underside, and I wish I’d done a more colourful paint job on my P51 now 😭

    spursn17

Finally finished the P51D. It’s the first time I’ve done a mixed camo/natural metal finish and tried a different technique on it as regular washes wouldn’t work for both. To break up the flatness of the metal I weathered it with a few different grades of clear coat, it worked really well but doesn’t show up in the pics. One pain in the bum was that this aircraft had two rear view mirrors on it, I made these out of bits of clear sprue but it was hard to get them to sit at the same angle. Any criticism or comments are welcome, the next one is always better!

BBC on their annual wankfest over Liverpool again the last few days 🙄

When we had a quiet transfer window last year it was because we were in money trouble and manager/chairman disagreement, Liverpool do the same and according to BBC it’s a smart thing to save money and keep the team together.

I’m going to try and stay away from news media as much as possible this season, social is nearly as bad with negativity from fans being the loudest voice.

Getting ready now to go to WHL later with my grandson to actually enjoy some footie.

    COYS!
