So, after the Pfalz I thought I would do a nice and easy ‘out of the box’ build and chose a Revell/Monogram 1/48 B26 Marauder. I looked at it and thought ‘those raised panel lines look a bit rough, I’ll rescribe them’…

Then I thought I’d by an etched brass detail set, that turned into an Eduard Big Ed set….

Might as well add some decent guns as well…

This may be a long job as well! 😀

Yep, used one off of my bus to put a car engine fire out in the City of london. Had to take the bus out of service after that, punters weren’t amused 🙂

Nice work nairnster. I particularly like the weathering on the F4 and the P51’s. The 109 is very good as well. I think it’s harder to make 1/72 kits look good than the larger scales.

I like 1/48 scale myself and my next kit is a B26 Marauder. I have a fascination for these aircraft as I often cycle past their old bases at Chipping Ongar/Willingale, Matching, and Great Dunmow.

nickc; 1/32 wingnutwings kit, the lozenge camo on the wings are decals supplied with the kit and took ages to fit.

    nairnster; post yours, I’m interested.

Squidlord; thanks, I think it’s one of the best I’ve done.

thepurist; they normally just sit around until they get broken, the fun for me is making them. I gave my Me262 to my 3 year old grandson to play with, lasted about 10 minutes before the undercarriage and back wings were off 😀

    before the grandson!

OP. You don’t listen to her, she doesn’t like what you’ve done for her. Sounds like you’re already married! 😀

I would call a halt to it all and ask for the bike back. She’s not ‘friend’ enough to trust you and wants to get it valued, does she think that you’re ripping her off then?

Mixing friends and money rarely ends well.

Katie Puckrik is just plain brilliant….I love her. Cerys plays some fantastic music and has a genuine passion for it.

    This^^

I like the way 6 divides opinion, shows it’s hitting the spot as everyone likes something different.

LaLa is in a different league though (and the Kenickie album is still one of my favs!).

She wouldn’t go and get her Glock and start shooting people.

I bet one of her sympathisers would though.

So if this Pamela Geller is OK with freedom of speech events then I suppose that she would be all for someone holding a ‘F### The USA’ event?

Pantone 5 U, no doesn’t really work does it.

I like it, #000000 would be better though (again, no chance of this happening!).

Batman was suggested and shot down in flames. I really like Spacefighter Karate Bastard, but in reality that’s got no chance of being passed by the fun police.

I’m pushing for Megatron at the moment as at least they can shorten it to Meg. Poly Styrene is the other one I’m trying to get in as well.

I like Steve as a pet’s name but I’m going to save that one for a dog.

Not happening. I’d give it a number, 617 would be good. That’s been vetoed as well.

    Guinness was suggested and vetoed.

Maybe it should be in a cat forum, but that would be full of mad old cat lady’s who suggest cute names.

At least I can rely on some stupidity here.

Trafalgar Square – Northumberland Avenue; I use this junction every day.

Red light jumping is common here (and all the other lights around there) as the area is so screwed up after the road layout change a few years ago. The worst bit is after those lights where the road narrows, you need a good sprint to make it safely before the cars try and squash you. Would be wonderful if there was a copper there sometimes but they’re too busy to bother with anything safety related!

TheLittlestHobo; I’m not bothered about those things, if I need any work done after the guarantee runs out I’ll go to an independant garage (I can do a lot myself, friends are helpful as well), if it goes to the dealer for anything I’ll use my bike for a few days, and my cars get washed about twice a year!

Car will be abused driving 5 miles to the station, carrying bikes, rubbish to dump, and allotment duties.

I know how to haggle and walk away if the deal’s not right, there’s no leeway on Dacia’s though as they’re already at a low price. Best I could manage after walking and waiting for the customary phone call was a full tank of petrol, they were prepared to lose the sale than drop the price any further (more than one dealer as well).

No, three year’s warranty, after weighing it up I felt that it was enough.

I don’t like the ‘pay us a couple of grand to keep the car’ deals, just feels like long term renting and also ties you into getting another one of their cars.

I just got a bank loan as rates are fairly low at the moment, it gives me the freedom to keep it or sell it on in the future.

I’ve just bought a Duster after my Focus died, I gave them £7400 and the Focus (which was so bad it barely made it to the dealer).

The plan is to keep it for as long as possible. It’s definitly a cheap build, the interior isn’t up to much but I consider it’s like buying bike kit from Aldi, it does the job for commuting. If it does fall apart I wouldn’t worry anyway as I don’t really care about cars much, so long as it starts and stops OK will do me. It hasn’t got a lot of power but living in the crowded south east you can only go as fast as the car in front of you anyway.

If I were doing a lot of miles I may have bought something else, I only do around 8-10k a year though. 2nd hand cars around that price were a few years old, this way I haven’t got to worry about it as it’s gauranteed and no MOT’s for 3 years. I think that the engine and gearbox in mine is from a Megane, on the Sandero I think it’s from a Clio, so spares should be readily available. If not then I haven’t gambled that much dosh.

If I’d spent 20k on a new car it would probably lose the value of my one as soon as I took it out of the showroom!

Yeah, how many of you lot would bonk rich potentially reasonably attractive women for 1K an hour.

It wouldn’t take that long, does she do a pro rata rate? 😀

People blaming Russia need their heads tested.
The blame falls on the EU and their muscle NATO for setting up camp in what should have been left as buffer zones after the fall of the Soviet Union. They are the real aggressors in the long term.
We are also on the precipice of another financial crisis, thanks again to the EU and its utopian idea and reckless enforcement of the single currency.

    +1

The Russians are very sensitive to any potential aggressors approaching their borders, understandable after the pasting they took in the first couple of years after Germany invaded in WWII. The USSR provided their buffer zones, now that’s all gone they’re a bit edgy.

Don’t know how we reckon we can do anything though, too many cuts to HM armed forces to be effective in any major conflict.

    Ideal Classic: check
    Twenty years old: check
    Cast iron jacket: check
    Corroded and leaking: check

Had to replace mine two weeks ago, two bloody cold days as well. If you’ve got the cash change it, it’ll only go west when you least want it to otherwise.

I would take a trolley jack to the two cars, but I would also play the long game. Move the two cars once a week towards the driveway, but only move them 3 or 4 inches at a time. 😀

    Cheers GFS.

It’s a pci-e slot old Radeon 5 series, had it so long that it no longer appears on the AMD support page 😀

I’ll have a look at that link later. I want to stick with an AMD card rather than Nvidia as I dual boot my PC with a Linux os as well and I’ve read that there’s better driver support.

I like the look of that Arma3.

I think I need a new graphics card though, anyone know if an AMD R9 285 would be any good? PC currently has an I5 processor which should be OK but I’m a bit out of the loop with graphics cards these days.

    +1 for Bikeline.

I used them when I got knocked off by a cab, very cycle friendly and kept me updated. They didn’t argue when I asked them to go back to the driver’s insurance company and ask for more, got the extra as well.

Mr Woppit, you do have to watch that junction, the left lane is marked as being able to turn right from.

As for Parliament Square that someone mentioned earlier, I dont’t mind that as if you get in the lane you want it’s easy to stay there.

I don’t like Northumberland Avenue eastbound from Trafalgar Sq, always a race between two lanes to get into one from the lights.

It was always going to be a rubbish game today, one of the best teams in the league v one of the worst.

Atlanta v Detroit a couple of weeks ago was fantastic.
