I bought a LED tube and put it in a flourescent batten over my indoor workbench on the strength of this thread, what a revelation it’s really bright!
    Thanks guys.

    15st here and I’ve got 5’s and Quattro’s.

I much prefer the Quattro’s as they seem to roll much better, had a few broken spokes with the few pairs of 5’s I’ve had, none on the Quattro’s though.

B26 Martin Marauder. Hard to fly because of its high landing speed, but the pilots loved it when they got used to it.

There is one even more pointless the rat look, what the hell is that about, take a nicely painted car and then just vandalise it.

Mrs spursn17 said a very emphatic no to me buying this a week ago…

Sudocrem the cat and the fleas will stick to it, just pick them off later.

Don’t do what a mate of a mate did and spray the flea stuff into the vacuum while it’s running.

I did this with air freshener to make it smell nice, it actually blew the thing apart! Mrs spursn17 wasn’t happy.

Mrs Spursn17 wanted a banana and ketchup sandwich once, she ate it and really enjoyed it as well. She also went right off oranges and has only eaten one or two in the last 30 years.

    Weirdo!

He shouldn’t jack the train driving in until he finds something else, but…..

I’m in my mid fifties and my job bores the tits off me, and has done for years, I can’t get out because it pays so well and would disrupt my family too much to pack it all in and get a lower paid job. I would give anything to go back to when I was 27 and just do whatever made me happy instead of doing ‘what’s best’. I am so cheesed off at work that it impacts on my friends and family, and also in my ability to be civil to my colleagues at work. I know I’m an arse but can’t stop myself now.

OP; please tell your son to do what he feels happiest doing, even if it’s not the route you feel is perfect for him.

I bought a Duster last December. It was one of the indian one’s that are thought to be susceptible to corrosion (I like a gamble! 😀 ), it was Waxoiled to within an inch of it’s life at the dealers and some of the paint under the bonnet had been redone. On the upside I gave them my knackered Focus and 7 grand and rolled away in a new car with 3 years warranty.

So far no problems and still happy with it. I don’t get excited by cars anyway and they’re just a box to travel about in to me. If you think of it as an ‘Aldi/Lidl car you won’t go far wrong. I’m going to keep it until it dies anyway.

    I’ve got this one…

Just been for a pootle round the local woods and it was up to the job, had it about three years and it’s still OK. For the money they are almost disposable.

    These…

Taking two (sadly now one) black dogs to the woods at night was a nightmare until I got these, I could see them from a long way off and had a different colour (not red though 😀 ) for each dog.

Lidl have cheapo led lights similar to knog lights in their hiking gear from today, they look like they will go on a dog collar OK. I’ll still be buying the NiteIze one’s though.

How much space do you get with Imgur? I looked but it doesn’t say.

Any downsides with Fickr? The 1TB of storage is tempting.

I’m so innocent that I had to look that up! 🙂

I’ve had a look underneath and it has loads of holes like those Boletes so that looks like the winner. I’ll let them live under the trees.

    Beginning of the end?

I don’t ride there very much but it would be sad to lose it.

Is it time for some sort of organised ride to show support for keeping it unrestricted? I’m sure that if done properly a massed MTB ride would surprise the corporation, it’s got easy access from London so it affects a fair amount of us.

I really like Courtney Barnett, very good live as well.

Now this croaky voiced Doris makes me want to put acid in my ears…

    ITV weather girl

I don’t get that one at all. She sounds lovely

It’s that elongated croaky ‘Heeelllloooo’ she does at the start of every broadcast that does me in, and the effected little girly voice she continues with. I’ve heard her interviewed and she can talk normaly, which sounds OK.

Every day/week/month that goes by has me thinking that I’m running out of time.

    This^

Too much to do and so little time to do it. Don’t like getting slower as well.
    Somebody please stop time!

I bought my grandson a Frog 43 on Friday, nice little bike.

Although the website is sold out some of the retailers still have some in their shops. I got mine from the shop in the velopark at Gravesend in Kent, they still have another one in there.

I like how the zip ties are lined up with the word Pikey

Not ‘zip ties’, it’s ‘cable ties’ this side of the Atlantic.

A computer could react faster and not need breaks. Automation is the way forward long term.

Footflaps; the technology is there for driverless cars but I wouldn’t fancy riding amongst them and having to trust the proximity sensors. The drivers often spot someone’s body language that say’s that they’re about to jump and act accordingly.

You’re probably right that it’s coming in the future though, if we could fit PED’s (platform edge doors) everywhere it would happen soon. The problem is fitting them into the restricted space we have, same problem with air con.

I can’t even figure out why we need drivers. Get it automated and get rid of them.

On our line we probably have someone on the track about once a week, often more, and I’ve lost count of the times they’ve escaped unhurt or with only minor injuries because of the drivers reactions.

People outside of the job don’t really have any conception of what we do in the background (I’m not a driver by the way).

LUL have really been watering down the safety procedures over the last few years and the night tube issue has snapped the elastic and totally cheesed everyone off. If I remember right 90 per cent of those balloted voted, and of those 80 per cent voted to strike. Any government would love to have a mandate like that!

Is there a hierarchy of truck drivers?

Of course there is, it’s not usually an Eddie Stobart truck, or one from the big well maintained fleets is it?

People, stay away from tippers, scaffolding lorries, bin lorries, and cement mixers (although some of these seem a little better over the last year).

Being a regular commuter in London I’m not scared at all on the roads, you just need to use your loaf. The thing that gets me is that there is no law enforcement for anyone, all types of road users get away with whatever they feel that they can as there’s an extremely small chance that they’ll get caught.
