Thanks for the replies guys, it’s only 5m Sq of floor tiles and 12m Sq of wall tiles, not a huge room. The kit is reasonable level, not bonkers stuff but definitely nice quality. It’s 1200 by 700 frameless cubicle, shower with a main head and one on a riser bar with a separate thermostatic valve. 1500 bath, with panels and thermostatic valve rather than taps, basin with unit underneath.

The fitter has said 2 weeks.

Nope, all of these are beaten by “I could of” instead of “I could have” literally grinding my teeth as I type!

Project manager building and refurbishing pubs! Did can degree in psychology, thinking I wanted to be a clinical psychologist, did a summer job in a secure hospital as a nurse and hated it!

Bummed about with various jobs for a couple of years, recruitment, teaching rugby, barman, then noticed the pub company I was working for had a grad scheme. Figured I could do a better job of designing pubs than I’d seen so applied for the building department.

8 years later, I’ve done a post grad in construction management, i’m a chartered builder, and I’ve just started managing the contract and supply chain for the department.

my dad recently invested in an mx-5 as a post retirement present. Considers it possibly the best purchase he’s ever made – literally smiling ear to ear every minute he’s in it. I wish we’d pushed him to buy one a couple of years earlier.

he spent a bit more than your budget and went for the 2 litre, coupe-convertible. Little bit heavier, but very practical and the electric roof is ace!

Hmmm, they have the traction ones with the harder sole on outdoor gear . com. Anyone any experience of them?

Stu, where have you seen them for less? There’s some on amazon but they only seem to have the glossy finish ones, which are ok, but I prefer these!

I’m going to get lambasted for this but…. Decathlon mini pump is about. 5 quid and is ace. Pretty small, pretty light, fits both Presta and schrader valves and blows tyres up surprisingly quickly.

Yep, sat on sofa with Mrs spud, just finished bottle of champagne and somehow I’ve agreed to do a bottle feed so she can have a couple more. Sadly no cheese in the house though. Predators is well worth watching, although still not as good as the original imho.

I’ve recently built up an old voodoo wanga frame into my first hardtail. Stunned at how much fun it is, and somehow more confidence inspiring for jumps than my 150mm Canyon?!

Jesus, just watched Leicester vs bath. 3 red cards and 2 yellows! Not a high scoring game, but well worth watching.
Watched the England match, now just Wales vs oz, is it worth watching from enjoyable rugby pov?

I got done for 81 on the motorway, offered the course and found it okay actually. I expected what a few have posted, self righteousness, smugness, perhaps some videos or pictures of crashes, that sort of thing.

However, was nothing of the sort. Loads of information about cars, and driving, best practice, the law and since on. The guy seemed to get that a lot of the people there were only there to avoid points. His view was, you’re here, so you might as well listen, otherwise you’ve wasted a day and £90.

Agreed, battlefield 3 is also very good but I found it much harder to get into than COD and it only works if you have a squad to play with regularly.

Oh and forgot Fallout 3, and the sequel, new vegas. Both very very good, bit more to them both than COD.

You’ve not mentioned you like shooters, but let’s be honest, you need to buy halo 4 and call of duty black ops 2. Both are sheer genius but painfully addictive!

Voted by post earlier in the week. I’m not sure how much influence they’ll have, but I wanted to do my bit to keep it out of the hands of politicians – voted for independents for both 1st and 2nd choices.

Lots of people on radio saying they wouldn’t vote as no one had told them anything about the candidates. Apologies but this really riles me – fair play if you don’t agree with the whole idea, fair play if you want a “none of the above” option, but to say you’re not voting because nobody told you about the candidates is just pathetic. Look on the net FFS! Take some f######g responsibility for your choices!

Right, someone has definitely switched my tyres for ones slightly too small for the wheels. There is categorically no way these can fit.

I’d say suck it and see, but I just did the same with new chain, old cassette and it basically ruined what was otherwise a top ride.

Oh god, every time I hear about cruise playing reacher I despair. Could have been such good films, but patently going to suck.

I am legend was just a totally different story wasn’t it? Apart from the post apocalyptic vampires bit and the title it might as well have had nothing to do with the book.

Just finished reading ‘the running man’ which is another one that bears little resemblance. God help us if they ever sell the rights to any gemmell books…

You know, I sat here staring and staring at that photo for ages, thinking “what’s he on about? I can only see a bit of mud?” then I scrolled down a bit further! Doh!

I know it’s not strictly a UK seller for any comeback, but for speed of delivery, don’t deal extreme now have auk warehouse (albeit with limited selection of stock)?

Not ridden one yet, but I’m saving up for a cotic soul to go with my 140 revs. They get very good reviews on here, and well, I just like the look of them!

Hi, you can run a double set up with a triple shifter from sram, I switched my nerve am from a 3×10 to 2×10 and used the same mech and shifters for both.

Just reread your post, and the galaxy doesn’t score well on the compactness, although it’s significantly smaller than some of the beasts out there. But it is very easy to use, particularly for texting as you can set up one touch messaging direct from the homepage to any contact.

Hmmm, it’s not quite as rugged as your current phone, but i’ve been using a galaxy s2 for quite a while with this :
    amazon case
It protects from dropping and if you can get the screen protector on right it works pretty well.

So far I’ve dropped my phone down the stairs, on the road whilst riding, on the drive getting in my car and all with no issues.

Gah! Too late with my reply! Just had the same experience myself looking for the walking dead. I think they may have it on garden copy to borrow but the streaming catalogue is pretty limited.

Having made this mistake myself a while back, and it didn’t seem to do any damage, but the pc was notably slower.

From the reviews I’ve seen, and I thought msoft security was good enough to cover most issues. (cue stw’s IT experts absolutely ripping into it!)

hi, have you checked the little steel clip that holds the brake pads in? My mate had a similar noise on Sunday out on a ride and we feared the worst, but was just this clip had bent out and was catching the rotor.

    spudly1979

yeah, set up is still very much as I got it back from my mate. Seat is about right now, and adjusted the stem ok, but brakes need new pads, and the bars just feel tiny!

Flash, nope I’m up near Birmingham.

Servers, Yep tried pedaling with almost no pressure on the bars versus almost A wheelie and no difference. It’s about a year old, been ridden a fair bit but i doubt anyone would say ridden hard, maybe 3 times a week Max.

Pretty certain the creak is towards the rear, but whether it’s further than the bottom bracket depends on where you listen!

I did wonder about the pedals, but wouldn’t they creak creak when I bounced on the suspension?

Can’t be cassette or qr, surely creak would have disappeared when we switched the wheel?

    spudly1979

Definitely not saddle or seat post, still creaks without post in! Had creaking issue before I switched the bottom bracket, it was one of the reasons I had it changed.

    It’s a canyon nerve am.

just had a look at the prime and streaming content available in the US, that’d be a big influencer on me buying it – i like the idea i can borrow books and streaming films or tv series to watch whilst mrs spud watches something awful would be a bonus!

Thing is, can i not get most of that from say, netflix (apart from the books bit)?

If as the papers say Amazon has invested millions and millions in the content available, they’d want to make it available to as many people as possible to influence their purchases – its what makes it different from the nexus (and possibly the ipad mini), so why wouldn’t they release the prime and book borrowing stuff in the UK?

my dad is the same, absolutely adamant its just me mumbling or the poor quality of the phone line, or he’s in a noisy environment….the options go on and on!

My mum just invested in a cheap one for her Dad and just told him to try it out – he was impressed, but still rarely wears them!

Has anyone had a go with the original fire? Was the Amazon overlay that bad? I only plan to use for surfing, e books, email and maybe trial Love film and a newspaper. Maybe for work emails as it supports exchange and office apparently.
