As someone who delivers therapeutic injections I always check the box it is in and the individual vials. Before delivering the injection the batch number, expiry date and dosage administered at written in my notes. I do this before the injection to make sure what I’m going to inject it in date and correct.
I work on the premise you can’t be too careful …….

I work in health care and I fully agree with alansd1980, it needs to be raised as a DATIX and a root cause analysis completed. In my work this would likely be classed as a serious incident and investigated accordingly, i.e the more serious the incident the more senior the investigators.

Investigations are not about wriggling out of fault, they are about trying to find out what went wrong and how can it prevented from happening again.

I’d suggest the local PALS service if it was a hospital staff member. If you get no joy then you can make a formal complaint to NHS England who will take it forward on your behalf with all parties concerned.

You will get a formal written response answering your complaint and when you submit a formal complaint they will also give you date by which you will receive the report of the investigation.

Had to do too many of these recently.

Dogs trust have various desensitising tracks to play, start of at a level that they can tolerate without distress and for a few minutes. Gradually increase the volume. Final stage is to do sudden increases in the sound.
We’ve been doing it with our 7 month old guide dog puppy and he (fingers crossed) seems unbothered so far but aware that the worst is yet to come

There has never been left over toad in our house – a tray of 12 between the 2 of us is the norm but I’d like more.

As a kid we used to have yorkshire puddings and gravy as a starter – I miss those days…..

I would love an invite for dinner the Generalist

Wheatlands farm eco lodges. Don’t mind dogs, we couldn’t take Herbert, he is too young to do longer walks.

Reiterate the above really, mistakes happen. It is not that you have made a mistake the most important thing is how you handle and deal with it. In my experience the fall out from a mistake has never been as bad as what I think it’s going to be….. and the longer I have to dwell on it the bigger and more catastrophic the mistake appears

I thought the finished house looked amazing. The money side of it was just crazy but if they do come to sell then I’m sure they will recoup their money.

Herbie, our 4.5 month old german shepherd puppy is currently having zoomies around the living room.

Can’t believe how much he’s grown since we got him and am slightly concerned how big he’ll end up as his Dad is 40kg.

We’ll be having him for about 12 months so need to make the most of our time together before he heads off for further training. Hope he makes the grade…..

Some gorgeous looking singletrack dogs :)

We laid an solid wood floor (not engineered). Looks great for the most part. The KEY to a great floor is the preparation prior to laying it, my advice is take your time and get the base as level and smooth as you possibly can.
We did LVT in the kitchen and that is fantastic, really practical and looks great. The plants had a 3 mm cork layer which helped loads with underlying imperfections.
    Good luck

Billabong, ripcurl, mystic and O’neill do relaxed fit surf t shirts – they’re quick drying polyester with spf 50. They aren’t super baggy but neither are they skin tight, got one for my other 1/2 and he likes it

Work is getting in the way of our preferred month of skiing in January !
Hope to be out there for 2 weeks though, will look at skillico for the lift pass as the seasons pass is probably not economical this year. Might be able to do some touring in Verbier towards the end of the season.

If you’ve only had it a really short while then get started on isometric exercises for gastroc and soleus. They can be really helpful at improving pain levels

Asked for a cheap dive watch for holiday duties. The lovely people at Momentum sent a 10% off code and the engraved watch was with m within 5 days.

Very happy, just need to go on holiday now:)

Don’t rush it, they always take longer than you expect. You will always have a smaller calf muscle and a hopefully thicker Achilles once it has healed due to the period on immobility and the repair process in the Achilles itself. Little evidence surgical is better than conservative….decision should be based on the patient and their goals.

Mine was surgically repaired, I was 22 at the time and not “oldnpastit” :)

We went for Corion as we have a long run and weight was an issue as the kitchen is over the garage. It comes in 2 m lengths then they weld them together when they fit it so it is effectively seamless.

It has been in for about 8-9 years and looks great still despite a lot of use as we love cooking. If you are careless and damage it they can cut that section out and blend another section in. It was not the cheapest option but it has certainly been a very practical option. I would definitely have it again.

We stayed in a air bnb that had lovely Bosch appliances (ours are Fisher Paykell), the induction hob there was Elina which had a built in extraction system. I was impressed to the point I’d consider it for our next kitchen

I think the sewing bee is great, far better than the bake off and level with the pottery throwdown. Esme is great and Patrick could wear a bin bag and look tailored and smart!

After the made to measure I did guess the winner but thought it was close. The winner had improved loads during the programme, I thought she was nearly sent home mid way through whereas the others were always near the top of the pack. Well done to all of them, they were fantastic !

As has been said weight bearing activities and resistance work is your best friend for osteoporosis. Do not neglect resistance exercises for your wrists as osteoporosis is often picked up when you fall/stumble and break a wrist.

Our bone stock is built up until our late 30’s and 40s then gradually declines as we age with the balance switching gradually from bone deposition to bone resorption. If they suggest medication then my advice would be to take it.

We had a great week in Flaine again. Typical spring conditions of rock hard mornings, softer for a couple of hours then heavy going by 2. Forecast for 40cm of snow this week when we’ve come back which is what happened after our January trip.

No powder days this year but it was so good to be back in the mountains.
The bad news for bunnyhop and nbt – you won’t be happy with a week of skiing again after your road trip this year….

We’re out in Flaine at the moment……

Serge Cornillat is a private instructor, if your son is a good skier and wants to have an entertaining lesson then it’s never a dull moment with Serge (emphasis is on fun with Serge). Lynne Stainbrook is an american who has been teaching in Flaine for decades (all round skiing). Or there Bruno Uyttenhove who works out of the Blackside ski shop (more off piste focussed)

Ski with Catherine and Nicholas specialises in children’s lessons and I’ve heard really good things about them.

If you would like to know anything more then please email- We’re here until Sunday

Ruptured mine at 23 playing racquetball. Surgically repaired that night and plastered for 12 weeks with plaster change after 6 weeks to move the foot to neutral. Unfortunately, the plaster tech couldn’t read the registrars instructions and my foot position wasn’t changed so I had 12 weeks in plantarflexion.

Rehab at home and a few physio sessions, back to some sports/able to run tentatively after 7 months but didn’t go back onto a squash court for 7 years. Not because I wasn’t physically able to but mentally I struggled.

Tell your sis to be patient, they take a long time even when you’re 23 and indestructible…. Age plays a part in recovery times I’m afraid

Pain is not a reliable indicator of degree of damage. Complete rupture can be relatively painless (once it’s happened) unless someone does the Thompson test on you…..

Anyway some good came of it…..I became a physio :)

Our trip to France in 2 weeks has hit a snag – can anyone help ?

One of our party had her 2nd vaccination on 10th Jan and her booster on 20th October – so 9 months and 10 days apart.
According to the French gov website the 2nd and 3rd vaccinations need to no more than 9 months apart to be fully vaccinated whereas the UK gov website for travel to france says you just need all 3.

We have emailed gov.uk and asked on snowheads but I wondered if STW knew anything more…..

When we checked in January you could get a reasonable priced shared transfer with cham bus or alpy bus but only to sallanches or magland then you needed a bus or taxi up the mountain. There is a public bus from Flaine to Sallanche. They were also not running daily. We chatted to our ski instructor who’s wife owns and runs Erica transfers to Flaine – they had more work than they could cope with.
We’re driving on 21st because transfers were such a PITA this year, sorry it’s not good for your dates otherwise we could have helped you out

    Woman here, 51, no kids.

My view is I was always ambivalent about the idea of being a Mum. If I had been with a partner who had wanted a child then I’m sure I’d have been the “traditional” mum of 2 but I fell in love with someone who actively did not want children.
You are always likely to get polarised responses as people who are parents are likely to say it’s the best thing ever and people without children say the same…..

Good luck with whatever you decide
