Can’t believe no one mentioned the kiddy catcher from chitty chitty bang bang. He scared the bejesus out of me, I can smell you ………

Also won’t go near the sea after seeing Jaws
Saw Poltergeist aged 14 and spent most of the film hiding behind the sofa.

Sorry I don’t know how to post a photo but Bessemer Park in Spennymoor was an abomination (thankfully gone now).
Just looking at the old photos makes me feel ill …..

As a confirmed dog lover I was surprised how much I’ve enjoyed having a couple of cats (I rehomed them from a friend).
They’re independent, pleased to to see (when you have food in your hand) and entertaining.
Downsides – the odd dead mouse, taking a dead squirrel away from them and the live baby bird he brought in as a present, that wasn’t my idea of fun at 4am. De-fleaing and worming them is a bit of a pain but some chicken helps them get over the inconvenience of being wrapped in a towel.
Keep the cat is my advice

    Hi
There is a jumps/skills place as you head out of Blackmore on the Chelmsford Road which turns into the Blackmore road. If you’re coming from Blackmore its on the left hand side of the road and its probably about 2ish miles from Blackmore.
If you get to the turn off for Ingatestone Road you’ve gone too far.
    Have fun

I’ve got a little knog front light with 4 lights in it (sorry I don’t know the model). Its great, easy on and off and no problems through the whole of last winter. I also have a knog gator and that’s been trouble free too, just a shame that I now have to use it again….
Knog stuff seems to fairly tough and hardwearing.

I think that there's a Fat Cat in Norwich, if there is its a fantastic real ale pub and well worth a visit.
I've fond memories (well blurs) of the one in Ipswich. It isn't a chain, the pubs are owned by brothers I think

No, I'm physio, scotch cast (fibreglass) is much more comfortable than plaster of paris but your wrist will be in a cast for a number of weeks and when it comes off you'll be horrified at
    how hairy your wrist is
how thin your arm has become
Don't be surprised if the cast comes off and your pain levels increase and don't expect the cast to come off and you be able to move your wrist freely.

    Hi
I'm 5' 3" with 28" inside leg. My road bike is an XS giant (44cm) with feels a great fit and I have a Turner 5 spot in small which I love and feel really comfortable on. I don't know whether this is because I was used to a 16inch hardtail…

Sorry to be a misery but I think the chances of golf on the 14th August are slim to none with the emphasis on none …..
I don't think you'll have regained enough movement or strength in order to play.
Always happy for patients to prove me wrong though ….

As tracknicko said, spices we use are cinnamon, ginger and cumin.
Alternatively, try a Thai dressing of fish sauce, few drops of sesame oil, fresh chilli, fresh lime juice and palm sugar (or ordinary if you don't have it) works really well.
I find cous cous tasteless unless I've made it with stock ….

We both use ALpkit mats and they are great, would recommend them without hesitation.
Don't know about your wife but generally when we're camping we're either a) exhausted or b) slightly tiddly at bedtime or c) a and b and could probably fall asleep on a fence.

I had 4 wisdom teeth removed in one sitting, couldn't open my mouth any more than the width of a crisp for a week and the lower part of my face was hulk green. I was told to gargle regularly with salt water and if a clot of one of the cavities came off then I was supposed to put something in my mouth and bite down to make the cavity bleed again and form another clot! How the hell I was going to do that I have no idea.
Just as I was able to open my mouth again I got the worst case of tonsillitis I have had. Still,OK now apart from when I swim for more than half an hour when my lower jaw goes completely numb …..

    Hi Peter
We know a guy who part owns chalet in Chatel with a double garage underneath. It can sleep up to 10. It's a little way out of Chatel but is handy for the supermarket and Le Fer Rouge (micro brewery making its own bitter, lager and mild!). Email me at linda@sbruce.com if you would like more details.

Karinofnine – well said. I have had the unpleasant exoerience of being on the receiving end of someone's irrational jealousy and it was truly horrible for all concerned. It is destructive, irrational and pointless and unfortunately your girlie seems to be exhibiting some fairly major tendencies in that direction. Get out now before your bunnies are boiled ….
Really didn't like the roughing up lie, what will it be next time …

I use a teaspoon of ground ginger, tumeric and smoked paprika. Add as much (or not) chilli as you like and pop 2/3 bayleaves in when you simmer it.
To get the rice fluffy, coat it in the juices(fat) of the chorizo and when you've added the stock and its simmering, put a lid on it and don't stir it until the rice is cooked and the liquid has gone.
If you need a recipe let me know….

Nerve damage is usually classified into 3 with the mildest being a neuropraxia, this is when the nerve and sheath is still completely intact but it has suffered an insult. If this is what you have then don't load it, just normal movement and let it recover. It usually takes about 12 weeks to be back to normal depending on how bad it was to start and what you've done since (i.e. not continued aggravating it).
The other 2 types of nerve damage are more severe and involves actual damage to the nerve/nerve sheath….you don't want this, recovery can be ages and or not at all.
Or you can tape it and carry on :D

You can get holiday back at our place but you have to have a doctors sick note…
On the plus side if you're sick after a holiday its just counted as sickness. That seems to happen to me fairly often thinking about it …

My old helmet was a Shark and my new one is an Arai. I preferred the visor release on the Shark but the pinlock on the Arai is great.
Fit is the most important thing, and when I compared the Arai to a Shoei it was obvious that I have an Arai shaped head. Choice is limited though when you get down to my head size (xxxs…..)

    Hi
My mother had RA, developed when she was about 36 and misdiagnosed as gout for a couple of years until the rheumatologist diagnosed RA. She died a couple of years ago and by the end she had the worst case of RA I've ever seen and I work in the NHS.
Everyone's experience of the disease is individual, some people suffer acute flare ups and then remissions whereas others (my Mam) have a steady and unremitting progression of the bastard disease.
There are several classes of drugs that can be used in the control of RA but they often have fairly, potential serious side effects that may require fairly often monitoring.
Good luck, sorry if this post is a bit doom and gloom.

This debate is not going to change people's practices, TJ's opinions/presentation of evidence is not going to change my mind about when and where I wer a helmet.
Its fairly obvious that TJ is not going to change his mind either so let's agree to differ and let this thread go ..

I changed my career at 27, went back to Uni and re-trained as a physiotherapist. Great job, lots of opportunities here and overseas and I left Uni with no debt although I did work all the holidays and had saved before going. It can be financially rewarding with a job in a good private practice.
Apart from the police there isn't anything that I'd rather do …. says a lot really!

I'm a very pleased owner of a turner 5 spot (bought 2nd hand). It has bailed me out of sticky situations including jumping stream accidentally (it could have been very messy). I find it climbs fairly well and the suspension is superb.
I had a titus motolite before and the Turner is by far the better bike. I would definitely get another one.
