I have some Hope ones which I have been impressed with, bit more involved to fit and pricey but seem durable and showing very little heal rub. They do a boost ring as well if that a factor.
Normally the tokens that hold them up I thought which allowed lower pressures but if you are at 25% sag this does not seem to leave much room for change. Your rebound seems bit quick to me maybe although I am not sure that would help with your problem. If you are riding some trails with big hits and drops you are likely to get through 130mm anyway.
You could run a bit more low or bump the pressure up a bit
They have 2.4/2.3 high roller combination and they feel generally sluggish compared to crossmax, superstar tesla’s I have had on before with same tires on previous bikes. New bike is boost back which is a bit limiting at the minute hub wise. I can get a set of pro 4’s with some Easton arcs or wtb KOM’S for 390 ish which maybe best option. I was toying with sticking a pro 4 in to see if this speeds it up.
Would not class it a weathly persons sport, I do it and am not even approaching wealthy and neither are the people I ride with. Racing cars, yatchs are better examples.
I live in the peak and had a bfe never enjoyed riding it here though, horses for courses I guess. I had a go in my mates patrol at the weekend, nice bike could not believe how small the large felt though I am 6″1.
Been riding since 96 and lost count of how many pedals on road, mountain and kids bikes and never had the problem before, not saying no chance me but unlikely in my mind. The burgtec are tight ish in the bearings and the cranks just seem soft to me.
Strange this new sizing, seems like the new way is to barely reach the bars so on that basis you need a xxl. I am 6 foot and had a sit on the large whyte and it felt alright ish I would have put a 30mm stem on it though.
My commute is 20 miles and I have a forme cyclocross a go for a bit and then went back to a road bike. I just found it slower really and although I fancied taking in some off road sections I never found myself doing it. Think if I had spent more on the cross in particular lighter wheels I may have stuck with it
Not quite the same but I had a ti switchback having tested the steel one. I actually preferred the feel of the steel one and wish I had gone for that. The corrision thing was on the older finishes.
I snapped my Dune so chose between process 153, whyte g160rs and rallon. The Rallon arrives tomorrow it seemed good value especially with discount and free pedals from Bike Active. 2016 model looking forward to getting on it. Not much to chose between the 3 from what I could see.
Recent review in WMB was not that great on them saying they are not particularly stiff and when combined with cost it makes them not a great option. Not sure how much weight I put into the review but the XT s on my bike are my oldest piece of kit and for the money are great, do run hope brakes though and never got on with shimano offerings. I am a bit behind as still on 1×10.
Fox doss best for me had multiple reverbs go back, have 2 mates struggling with command posts at the minute. Luck of the draw a little bit in my opinion.
