I use Raceface atlas always been really happy with them and had several, are around 50. I have had the chromags but prefer the atlas shape.

I work in this sector and a public forum is not the best place for the advice you need. Get some professional advice from an Insolvency Practitioner or decent accountant.

My son has the mx24 which was about £330 I think with v brakes. It’s been great, decent weight, Kenda small block 8 tires do the road and off well. Lots cheaper than an Isla and look good as well. My daughter has the Genesis core 24 inch which I don’t rate as much as the Orbea spec or finish wise.

I built a hardtail for this winter rode it twice and decided I just prefer full sus so have broken it down again. Horses for courses I suppose but if you can afford to build two up then I would mix and match with them all year round. Smugglers look good too

I like the e13 trs triple compound enduro job on the front, can get them for about £50 or magic Mary’s.

Winstanleys have got 2017 reigns cheap at the min, if not the Bird is well worth a look kit may not be as good but the geometry seems better to me than the Capra

    Narnia
    Burbage edge to fox house
Back of The Grouse inn down to grindleford
Riber all the way down through Bow Woods
    Black rocks multiple ways down

Not sure any of them are legit

    Cavedale is good too

That has happened on my gx mech a couple of times realised before any damage was done. Replaced the chain and not happened since.

I really like them but and am just about to build a Shan up as my winter ride but on dry fast lumpy summer trails I prefer my 29er full bouncer. For me it’s best have both and but if I could only have one it would probably be the full sus as ultimately long days are easier.

I had a large prophet built with pikes and light bicycle dh rims, e13 tires and gx. It weighed nearly 35lb and I found it s drag on long days. Just gone for 29er fuel ex which has Easton heist wheels (cheap on offer), factory 34’s at 140, hans damf/ magic mary and the same gx, transfer dropper, it weighs 30 on the nose and I really can tell the difference weight wise. I ride exactly the same stuff in the peak no slower and prefer the fuel on really tight steep tracks.

Mate works there, they mainly act as a distributor for other brands Lapierre etc as they are owned by a large foreign group. They are still doing the rsp stuff which is just rebranded products. The dropper is good value and the carbon bar is nice too.

I am looking for one as well seems to be a lot of choice around 105 – 120mm mark, phantom, pyga, dhango, smuggler, 429, segment but not a lot in 130 – 150 range unless you spend big money. I had a prime and found it unbelievably heavy. I am after similar thing to OP and want something to handle everything really including the odd alps trip which I think I may suffer on without more travel.

I did it on a genesis longtitude the 2.35 Hans damf were certainly overkill. I did the 73 and never realised before how long that manifold trail is, great food stops and enjoyed the day on the whole.

Belper resident here (although I am about to move) seems to offer what you after 325 is a decent budget as well and you could look at blackbrook and farnah green nearby. Loads of great riding on your doorstep from Chevin to Crich, black rocks, riber etc.

    Fox transfer external and 150mm

Fox transfer external routing sits on post not at the saddle so no issues with buzzing the tire or leg and no raff to fit.

Are they not 1599 anyway, you should be able to find somewhere to give you a 100 quid off, or a transition scout maybe

I have both and think the Fox is much better

I thought I read somewhere that they have moved the shock position in the 2017 alpine6 and it does not ride as well as the older ones. May I imagined it though

I am really impressed with the transfer tbh, better than the lev I had which was unreliable and the cable is a doddle to fit.

I have one only done about 5 rides so far but so far I really rate it. I like the noisy top out and the action is very smooth, has some play but no more than any other post. I paid £217 (non kashima) for the post and then bought a Bontrager lever for £15 that works spot on so not bad value either.

Civil servant, I investigate directors of liquidated limited companies. Prior to this I ran an engineering company which paid twice as much but was generally shit with massive hours. Work a 4 day week now with loads more time for family, riding etc. Actual work between varies between being semi interesting and dull, the main issue is the antiquated way certain areas of the organisation still work, oh and the need to be ‘engaged’.

Just got my son the mx24 team, great little bike. Decent gear range, reasonable weight and tires are good too. Great value for money, he is flying along on it.

Asked my lbs same question and they said they have had every reverb back in the 2 year guarantee period, 2 out of 3 Thomson they had sold back. 50/50 on Ks, best for them specialized command post, and fox good so far but not out for that long. I bought the fox.

Not sure you can get 471’s on 350 hubs for £400, chain reaction are doing cheap crossmax XL’s at the min.

I did the Sarn Helen one which turned into about 330 miles with getting very off course over 3 days. Had a mate in a van who pitched the tents for us on the 2 nights out.

I found it very hard and would have sacked it off had it not been for charity. I would like to do it again with the comfort of B & B’s and more time. The navigation bit got hard when very tired and dark.

Good experience though (and perhaps the 160mm travel bike was the wrong tool).
