I do 13 on a road bike each way all year and have no shower, baby wipe wash and 10 minutes to cool down, 4 miles would be fine on a 100 quid 2nd hand job.

The Dave Buchanan both ways looks good, am looking for something that is a real challenge over a few days, 3 of us doing it with about 10 months to train.

depends on the frame, don’t know about the anthem but my spicy took about 4 hours to do as I found them tricky, did a mates enduro in about 1 hour though with him. Does seem a bit high as they should have the right kit to do it and not need to improvise as they go along.

did the lord of the loops out of the dark peak guide. 115km on the sat nav 4089m of ascent, enjoyed the first 6 hours second 12 was a bit of a bind.

I was riding at Dalby about a year ago the MBUK wrecking crew! were there, we did 2 loops of the black and they remained in the same spot on both occasions when we came round, clothes clean and bikes not very dirty. Not sure if they did a report on the trails or not but if they were only testing equipment it does not seem to be that representative to ride up and down the same bit of trail over and over again.

Belper the Chevin and Blackbrook, good 1 1/2 loop with some decent downhills about 20 mins from Ashbourne in the car.

Its a spicy which I have a cane creek zs3 in, when I changed from the orginal h/set the shop said your choices are limited because of the frame.

cynic – al, sounds about right but i would normally expect the rear mech hanger to give rather than the mech itself and that way my frame would not have been ruined.

Bigyinn – endo a result of rear wheel jamming me stood up and driving forward.

Bike stands on its own in secure parking at work so can’t have had a knock there, I believe it must be a fairly heavy hit to cause the mech to split straight down the centre of the body. I know it is not a dear bike £530 but really a plastic mech !

just a bit irritating that I am going to be paying for this bike for the next 18 months and I cannot use it.

Chain did not snap still on

    sprocker

There was nothing on the road when I looked round so could not see anyhting that would have hit it, the mech itself sheared in 2 around the the limit screws then as a result went into the whee causiong all the damage.

My mate has one and really likes it, if you buy it from chain reaction make sure you check it over though the 1st 2 they sent him had dents in.

put on a 990 sram, so at least the red in it match my bike and hopefully won’t scar it to much. £45 from chain reaction at the minute.
