do you think it matters about my additional weight I can appreciate you come down from a much greater height than me just don’t want them to dive to much into corners and down steep stuff.

Slight hijack but I have the 44 ti ‘s with the rc3 do people use the air assist as lots of reviews of the 55 and 44 which say that you must not have it on as it ruins the feel of the fork. I am 95 kg and therefore in my (poor) marzocchi manual it states I must have it on which to me makes the fork feel notchy. Would i be better to knock it off and dial in more high speed compression or just accept the way it feels, not sure if I can get a heavier spring. Sorry about hijack but sort of on topic if you are a bit heavier.

I have the 44 rc3 ti best forks I have ever had including the 2011 kashima 36 floats I replaced with them not as stiff but unreal plushness. They are very active if you stand up to drive on climbs but hold up well if you stay sat and grind up.

RC3 ti’s are 522mm axle to crown 3 mm more than a 140 rev so should not change handling much but you have 10mm more travel. Not that light but very plush I love mine, 2 year guarantee.

I have one on my heckler been on about a month and I am really happy with it. Simon sets it up how you want and I paid £300 all in with the ti spring which is a bargain. Does not compare to the DHX air that was on before.

Love that descent a walker cried due to the stress of watching us ride down it and accused us of ruining her walk. We had a record of 11 over the bars between the 5 of us going down.

Had mine 8 months and done the main pivot bearing twice and the bottom shoc bush 5 times, just put the tf heavy duty ones in. I bought the proper sc tools from stif which cost about 60 but it’s dead easy with them. Like freestar says use the butcher/nickel guide and torques.

I have been jedi ed and fully agree with what is written above, I tried to pass on his teachings at the weekend, as a result my mate fell off 4 times coming down the stanage plantation. Don’t think I am destined to be a coach :-)

I had 36 floats on and have just changed to 44 rc3 ti’s found the floats made the bike to tall the rc3 seem very plush so far and are only 522 axle to crown, put in a works h/set to knock the ha back by a degree. Bike is as slack as 160 but lower and more stable. Works out alot cheaper to.

muddyfunster – wrong = cornering head/body/eye position and jumping ie lifting of the lip and trying to spot landings.

xcentric – can’t speak for you but our group found it mentally more demanding than physically, we were there for about 5 1/2 hours which to be is really good value for £85

ssboggy, the riber one do you split of the bridleway to the left just before the gate into the field, I have never tried that.

yep head up the road over to starkholmes from cromford decent road climb then turn right up white tor road which is proper steep. Turn left at the junction then very steeply further up hill. At the top(after rest) take the first left and through farm about half a mile take the bridleway on the left (just after road becomes track). Follow up to top then just fire straight down. About 3km which will bring on to a road again. Take first left down path for more descending through a wood :D. we do a route which does these to shining cliff and black rocks which virtually touches no road for 22 miles, welcome to join sometime (sundays always though).

you can get up by coming of the canal where there is a slip way type road to the A6 next to a big house, turn left here through the gate and head up and you will find it

    sprocker

get yourself to the resevoir at the top then head back down the hill towards the fire station. when the road turns left go left through the gate and through the field, straight down over the wall left again. follow along the edge till you cross the broken wall then turn left up the hill. Bit of a climb up then you are there follow your nose down, several ways all good down to the canal.

I would have ridden down it anyway I know were it is just wanted a pointer from the start, only a quick post that needed one quick answer. Alternatively the trail police can post up and draw more attention to it. What is this local ownerships bollocks (not that I live that far away) unless you are land owner …k off. I don’t mind people coming to ride the trails I have contributed to building in my local woods as long as they respect the other users and don’t leave litter. I don’t even mind them skidding and causing braking bumps or ruts shock horror.
