seems at the minute that if you do not ride in the rain you will not ride at all.

Just waiting for my bfe :D, bb will just screw in you just need to make sure it has been reamed/faced. Not sure if cotic do it or not before they send them out.

just ordered a bfe for January and a new road bike in the Spring :-)

I did the wales coast to coast in 3 days on a pitch fitted with 2.4 mountain kings, dropper post etc, bike was 33lbs. It would have been better on a hardtail/short travel full suss mainly due to the fact the descents did not warrant the bike, got it done though.

I have decided to make the change looking at bfe, chromag stylus will be run with 160/130 dual position lyrics, any ideas/alternatives I am missing

kudos as stated several times the lyrics adjust 130 or 160 so should be able to sort the issue of handling just curious about if people regret the change. Assuming the hardtail is set up right.

Herman o thanks for the offer on the pike’s but going to stick with what I have.

I had not seen it, fairly sure I can’t quite match them on the skill level though :?.

Can you drop the spacer in the dual position ones.

dtalyforth – my lyrics are dual position so 130/160 can therefore spend the majority of time in 130 if I want, the point is I am fed up with bearings, bushes etc and fancy something simple.

Just want it to not be to much of a handicap on the rougher stuff. Tbh can’t see that 100mm forks fit with my riding and not what a bfe is designed for.

Think I am going to order one and hang on the ptich frame and see how it goes before selling it on. Not sure i will go for a 100/120mm option though !

they are the air dual position lyrics so 160/130. I already have a road bike and commuter and unable to justify having both to the management so it’s 1 bike for each. Cotic site says the bfe is built to take 160 so if I can change between 130 to 160, just wondered how i will fare on the technical stuff.

just gone 2 x 10, as I needed a new cassette and having the clutch rear mech means I have ditched the stinger. Not sure about the change in gearing being needed that much but the drive train is virtually silent now and for me that is worth it.

I have the attacks, done a year and going strong. They are the 3/4 and are comfy for me, better fit than endura and I cdon’t fidn them stiff. I have generally found my altura stuff wears better than endura. I commute daily so they all have plenty of use.

Mates attacks have gone on the zips though he got them cheap so could have been older stock.

cheers will have a look, if that is a tra it seems to have 160 forks on bit like the blood, seems to me to be maybe a new version on the lt which is a bit tall and steep as is. Looks good whatever it is!

Had a supernatural ks with remote and now have a reverb. Got fed up with it packing up all the time due to grime in the cable. Seems likely the lev is better but not been out for that long, reverb has been perfect for the 1st couple of months. Don’t mind the cable on the reverb the stick on cable guides form m part help.

My pitch is raw and this is how the guy did it who I got it off

B+Q stripper, various grades of wet n dry, then wire wool, then autosol and cloth. Took flippin ages! its held up well though and looks way better than the paint that was on it!

It does look awesome glad someone else did the work though

I have a pitch use it for long days including the welsh cost to coast in 3, built up with revs, hope wheels etc and comes in at 33lb. Don’t really notice it being a drag to ride uphill even with the baron’s on. It’s my only bike and you just get use to it and I find it very confident going down. Just get what you like the look and feel of and you will enjoy it.

I had the same problem on advantages & ardent which i split both off on the back shortly after I noticed it. I have ripped 6 different rear tires this summer on the sidewalls and have given up on the lighter tires ardent etc. I am heaving round baron’s at nearly a kilo each to save walking back to the car, I am 95kg loaded up.

I have 2013 rlt, been on for about 4 weeks, happy so far fairly basic in terms of adjustment but then so am I. Don’t dive to much under braking and are plenty stiff enought compared to other 15mm forks I have had, in fact much stiffer than the 150mm floats.

Me yesterday morning when a mallard duck stepped in front of me at the last minute and me and my commuter flew 15 feet into the canal on my way to work. Anyone less skillful would have hit the duck and not lost their glasses and ruined their phone in the water :D If only a talent scout was there and not the female on a bike who simply thought it was the funniest thing she had ever seen.

Slight hijack but i am looking to go do this but cannot decide on chain device, what are people using is it best with a simple top or something top and bottom. Will use a clutch rear mech but dropping the chain was always a problem on my 2 x 9 till I fitted a stinger.

Feel smooth when you get them then like all shimano hubs you end up messing about with the cone and cups. Get something with cartridge bearings less hassle.

got one lbs who did it for 210 which seemed pretty good and any problems it go back easily, hopefully require a bit less maintenance than the ks supernatural.

Spent my entire terms grant and loan check on a giant ATX1 downhill bike in 1998 which was about £3800, which as a result left me with a massive slate at the corner shop next door for my fags, fanta and crisps which formed the staple part of my diet then.

I was useless on it as well only managed to finish 2 races in 2 years on it.

I just got a Skoda octavia paid 7k for it with 31,000 on the clock 1.9 tdi really happy with it so far. Very comfortable and 57 to the gallon at the minute. Its the hatch as the boot looked big enough but plenty of estates about. Early days for realiability but worth a look for your budget.
