A friend has tried them – says there is a slight but noticeable difference.

I read that it changes the sag, 2 bearings changes it more than 1 so 2 makes a difference- but it was only by a couple of %.

“2:1 leverage ratio Maelstrom using a 190lb coil, i get 32% sag. With one of these bearings above the coil i get 36% sag. With a bearing above AND below i get 40% sag.”

I’ve fitted mine to a glory and can’t actually see the bearing rotate at when I bounce up and down – not ridden it mind.

Still, its called a Needle Thrust roller bearing – or axial load bearing whats coller than that ?

I’m sure flange fits in there as well.

Oh yeah and its a stupidly heavy DH bike, 39.4lbs 🙂 so lifting it 5 ft into the air doesn’t fill me with too much joy.

Whats best flat against the wall or up by the front wheel, bearing in mind the handlebars ar 800mm wide 🙂

Should just get a stupid fixie with 4″ bars.

If it was just me it would just sit in the hall covered in mud, but my flat mates can’t appreciate it as a bit of art so its in my tiny cell, I mean room. Actually have 2 bikes to sort out so need the best space saving idea.

Or..,. you can jump on the train to Geneva and take the chairlift onto the Saleve for some of the best trails I’ve ridden…

Sounds like a meet up for exploration of Jura trails might be in order ?

Take the train up to St Cergue from Nyon ?

I’m in Geneva and its bloody awesome – its crazy expensive, but there is a charlift up to 1097m with some awesome trails.

And then when it snows … ski.

There is a BMX track and some mega huge dirt jumps nearby as well. I just got rid of all my bikes and purchased a full on DH bike, what else do you need… les gets is 40mins away…

did I say how expensive it is..very!

Correct running shoes – Have a gait test done on a treadmill and don’t spend the whole time running on the road.

I tore my meniscus running though so what do i know. Back up to some serious Kms now though so all good.

Compression running tights – Really do work – I was amazed

    spoon

Last years models are cheaper at the moment as they’ve just released the skins A400 or whatever

    http://www.compressyourself.com/skins-compression-clothing.html

I’m not sure if wearing them after or during exercise is the best

I’m amazed it seems to make a difference – Going to try a similar length run in my normal running tights and I’ll report back.

    spoon

I’m still skeptical, I’ll give it a week and also try a run in my old running tights – Annoying though, going to have to get rid of all my old running tights and get expensive stuff. damn it.

I have to say, I picked up some the active tights in a sale and… they actually seem to work.

I was very (very) skeptical… i read this blog which has some real research in it

    http://www.joefrielsblog.com/2011/02/an-update-on-compression-clothing.html

But, I ran 8km and 10km Tuesday and Wednesday – wore them while I ran and for about 2 hours after and… I have no leg pain in the morning. nothing.

    I run a bit 40km a week probably and usually do a 10km in 50mins-60mins so I’m no professional.

Normally I’d expect to have stiff legs but on both days, nothing. Feels like I haven’t run.

Not sure if its running with them during or after, but they seem to be doing something.

Canyon outlet section of the website has some really cheap stuff going, seems to get some great reviews for their frames.

might be worth a look for a bargin. 2009/2010 frames are crazy cheap

More speed would help, but it looks like a pretty technical trail !

    How high is your saddle?

Maybe some elbow/knee pads ? gives you a lot more confidence

    spoon

Saying that the torque gets some bloody good reviews as well !

    spoon

I looked at the DH torque FRX version – some good reviews and if you go to the outlet section of the page you can get a 2009 frameset ( same frame as 2010 -diff colours ) for not very much !

You could look at the Torque FRX for more DH stuff. for me the geometry is more freeride orientated than full on DH which might suit you better ?

Takes a triple chainset as well…Only thing is its a tad heavy. But great shock and looks super burly.

I wanted to ship a frame out from London –> Geneve and it was 120gbp -that was insured though.

I decided it was cheaper to go and get it !

Switchbacks, awesome, learnt more about riding in 6 days than about 10 years of biking.

The guides are bloody good riders and you pick up so much.

Seriously good, I even flew from the alps to go there.

    Thanks everyone,

I’ve read good things about JO 30min meals..might pick that up.

I find most cookbooks only have a few useful meals in, I’m not going to cook a whole rack of ribs for dinner every night for example or stuff a pork tenderloin.

    I’ll check out Nigella also.

Ended up watching the whole vid, suuuuuuper nice trail that, some nice technical bits. The tricky section at the end that goes over the rock, have you tried a line to the left, seems to spit you out into the corner a bit better.

Difficult to judge sitting in my kitchen though.

    More Speed for sure.

After a week riding over rocks in spain I’m amazed what one can ride over…

nice idea to make a video and ask for advice, good idea.
