balls jacko went for 50 coz he knew he was in hideous amounts of debt

hed been unable to come up with an album he promised that sheikh before taking all his money and had been ordered to pay up
he knew he couldnt manage 50 mins on stage anywhere close to his old form so he took too many painkillers, by mistake

His advisors went for it, not him. They were creaming off huge amounts from him, doctors, lawyers, as well as all the other hangers on.

Jackson was away with the fairies. He knew he had big debts, but was a very sick man (mentally and physically).

I seem to recall a few weeks back that there was areport that 10 shows were arranged with Jacksons knowledge and then 40 were added and he was told about it afterwards – he wasnt happy and even he said he couldnt have done that many shows…

    Correct!

Apparently they could only get insurance fo 20 of the 50 shows.

I have read stuff that indicates Jackson was too ill to perform even one show, let alone 50. Weeks ago people were suggesting he wouldn’t fulfill the commitments made on his behalf.

    Who forced him into it?[/url]

Send it to any MP you like and tell the council they were using it as a second home at the time.

And the CT system is flawed, in this kind of situation. Should be per individual, unless you are a ‘family’.

Goes against your ideology that (wasn’t the Poll Tax a bad Thatcherist idea?).

If there had been no notification about the outstanding debt, then the debt collectors have been wheeled in without any warning, i’d say you have a case against your old council to get bailiff’s fees waived. Oh, sorry, that would be in a fair society, something that the so called “peoples’ party” have eroded. Good old Labour!

    Glad your feeling better.

building more roads is never a solution. how narrow minded.

Correcting the completely useless ones is!

I hardly drive anywhere these days, however it shocks me how tedious and slow travelling is when I do drive.

I blame stupid people who are unduly hesitant and slow when it’s completely safe to travel just a little bit quicker (so as not to pxss everybody else off). Ban them all!! 😆

I tend to make my journeys very late at night when “numpty” is tucked up in bed. You then only have to watch out for deer and rabbits.

I blame the Victorians for building houses 3 feet from the pavement and giving long strips of land at the rear of the house.

Why didn’t they build the houses set back a litle to create some space?

Most North Welsh towns need a bypass!

Have you tried driving to North Wales lately?

We were heading for Anglesey and noted a distinct change in the quality of the roads almost as soon as we crossed the Welsh border.

We seemed to get stuck getting through numerous small towns along the route.

One such town held us up in a jam for 30 mins. The cause: Just a car parked outside a house blocking the flow of traffic in one direction. It must have been a 4 mile tailback. Daft!

Bypassing these towns isn’t easy because of the lay of the land.

Well if the island of Madeira can get billions of Euros to built miles and miles of tunnels for a tiny minority of people, why can’t Wales?

What am I doing about the abuses Muslim women are suffering?

I am voicing my opinion, making people think about what is fair and reasonable, right here, right now.

My little voice doesn’t count for much, but the more people openly discuss matters, even if it’s only on an MTB forum, the more we will understand each other.

This is a significant issue about human rights, if it wasn’t, we’d be talking about something else wouldn’t we?

Like it or not, this influences the wider community. Grass roots debate is a healthy thing and it has to start somewhere. Have you heard of “six degrees”? Look it up if you haven’t. The internet is a powerful medium. It can reach all corners of the connected world in milliseconds.

Who knows where the influence of a little thread like this might end up.

Am I going to become an activist and go and champion a cause? NO! You get victimised if you do things like that. I am jsut contributing to a thread. That’s enough.

I’m all about free thinking and free speech. I deplore anyone who stifles either of these.

From what you are saying, sounds like she has a healthy appetite. I would live and let live to be honest.

Is your missus a freaky eater, or does she have any issues with food? (she must have, she’s a woman 😆 )Be careful she doesn’t transpose this onto the child.

If you put pressure on her to eat, you’ll encourage her to use eating, or not eating as a bargaining tool.

My wife has successfully done this with my son, who now eats nothing very healthy at all. He’s now 14 and she still panders to him based on her own negative childhood experiences. He’s very sporting so isn’t overweight, but i’m certain he will have major health issues if he doesn’t start eating stuff like vegetables and fruit etc.

I would get concerned if the baby reaches 4-5 years and still has extreme eating issues. By the sounds of it, she has none anyway. For now, just keep meal times as calm and stress free as possible, or I guarantee you’ll regret it later on.

But let’s say, for arguments sake, that a woman lives in an extremely male-dominated community, and doesn’t really want to go to the sharia court, knowing that she will probably not be treated fairly, but feels massive pressure to do so anyway.

    You happy with that?

Does a Sharia court recognise her as a human being, or something less than human? Medieval clap trap – ban Shari Law in Europe!

Ok, let’s not worry about this subject.

Let’s get rid of democracy. So what’s it to be? A facist dictatorship, or communist dictatorship? Can’t see a lot of difference in the two. They are both about economic failure, opression and lack of freedom, just like a certain religion we know when it’s taken for what it is!

Check your actual line speed by using a few online free checks – google them.

If you use ADSL, find out how far you are from the exchange – google this too. Look up the tables to determine whether or not you have good line speed for the distance you are from the excange. If the figure is about right, there’s nothing you can do except perhaps switch to cable. Be warned though – VIrgin are a nightmare for customer service and billing errors.

If the figure is on the low side, contact your ISP and get them to fix the line. Ask for a different profile to be loaded for your line. If you are out of contract and they won’t. switch to a more reputable carrier.

If they do switch your profile, bear in mind that it will take a few days before the line settles to it’s optimum speed.

I have no problem with it all, I mean UK law will stop anything illegal from going on

    Erm, NO!! (Sheesh, the naivety!)

    Sharia courts should be banned!

When you live in the UK you abide by the laws of the UK – period!

A tolerant society has allowed Sharia law to come about in Europe, it is not healthy, not rational, it’s plain discriminatory! IT’S POSITIVELY MEDIEVAL!

The teachings of Islam are at odds with the ways of a fair, modern society. There is no place for it in Europe. The more you hear about the abuse of women, the hatred towards Jews, homosexuals etc, the more you realise that the Quran is a book about hate!

But why single out Islam? I don’t see that any religion can justify it’s existence. There can be no faith better, more valid, more justified than the next! It’s pure discriminatory nonsense based on unfounded myths. Rule by fear – bullshit!

Christianity falls flat on it’s face when challenged by science

Rowan Williams controversially said that it was inevitable that Sharia law will become incorporated into British Law — ERM NO! YOU NUMPTY ARCH BISHOP! He patronisingly trys to make us feel stupid by using a bunch of big words and confuses people by making a simple subject seem inexorably complex to the point that we should “faithfully” except it. Like we’re a bunch of lost sheep who can’t think for ourselves. Tosh!

    Religion totally sucks!

There has to be one set of laws for EVERYBODY, no special exceptions! I can envisage Sharia being used to influence British Law. In effect, giving a so called minority group special privilges. Is that fair??

I predict there will be major conflict in Europe in the next 20 years as a result of allowing in the “Trojan Horse” of Islam. There is no such thing as Islaminc fundamentalism, just Islam.

We need a peaceful co-operative society that does not strive to divide itself. Religion is the biggest threat to peace and stability in this region.

The Coleman PerfectFlow™ 2-Burner Propane Stove looks good, but it’s £50. I like the windshield however. I use the plastic carry case that comes with my stove as a windshield. Of course, the coleman carry case is extra. Nice gear, but at a premium. Depends how much you will use this.

A tyre is a tyre! Get the cheapest but a well known brand. Drive gently and they will last twice as long. You’ll also save gallons of fuel, brake pads, your heart and will dramatically reduce the risk of getting in a smash up.

Mobile tyre fitters online worked out cheapest for me. They come to you – amazingly convenient!

It’s shameful that workers have to resort to such drastic action.

I don’t like militancy, but then nasty greedy barstools with no social responsiblity do need a wake up call now and again.

Being a French employer, they know better not to upset workers. The French make striking a national passtime. I suppose they thought the British workers would roll over and die.

Energy companies have been doing very well recently (unlike most other businesses). Surprising that they felt they needed a headcount reduction. There are a lot of firms playing on worker’s feelings of insecurity, purely to save money – shame on them! For example, look at BA! It should be registered as a charity!

I suspect that part of the hostility to muslim women covering up is that it makes the rest of us feel judged, whether we are women wandering around in minimal clothing or men who like to peer at women. And we don’t like feeling judged.

I don’t feel judged whatever i’m wearing and frankly I couldn’t give a damn what people think of how I look, REALLY!

The speech from Gordaon sounds good, but in practice, will it make things better, or will minorities feel undermined by the increased surveillance and invasion of privacy? You can just hear them all complaining about being victimised. Like black people and stop and search issue many years ago. You have to rely on these people to self-regulate themselves, but this clearly hasn’t stopped this threat to our security. If we let it go, we’ll end up with the same strife that’s afflicting Pakistan.

I’m really dubious about any plan to fix this. You can’t interfere with dogma. Remember that “rule by the rod” religions don’t tolerate descent, where free thinking and questioning the scriptures is literally punishable by death. (yes this really is happening still).

You can begin to see why Henry the 8th decided on the disolution of the monasteries. Religion is a powerful monster, it controls so many gullible people and is incredibly dangerous.

I’ve had this loads of times. Every time it’s been the bearing in the sealed BB. The first step however is to remove the BB and grease the threads as this can be the cause. It’s never been the cuase for me however.

Some BB’s go after no time, others last years, so it’s luck of the draw.

I rebuilt a roadbike last year with one of these new fangled splined cranks. Anyway, as there are too many “cock” drivers out there, i’ve barely used the bike. After less than five hundred miles, the bearings are beginning to creak.

Shimano must be doing brisk business!

Anyone make a BB with replaceable bearings? – so much easier and cheaper!

£75 looks like a bargain price. The light looks really bright in the photos, but these could have been “photoshopped”.

I’ll be interested to know how this kit performs. Can you post an update?

I hope there is no import tax to pay. Courier’s sometimes demand this when they deliver.

So called quality forks and shocks are ridiculously overpriced and not well engineered for reliability, durability. Shocking! (no pun intended)

The mid to high end stuff is temperamental tosh. Engineering a set of bike forks is NOT rocket science. We’re being mugged!

This gear should be getting better and cheaper now, but for example; the inflation of the price of Rockshox range this year indicates that the bike industry has lost the plot!

I blame consumers for stumping up and supporting this nonsense.

How many times can they play Thriller ? as ( imho ) that’s the only half decent album he did

Erm no! The first album he released was Off The Wall when I was a youthfull 16 years of age. There’s not a bad note on that album. An album that never become tiring and is packed with hits.

Quincy Jones made Jackson’s productions flawless – QJ THE most successful record producer of all time (check out the facts online).

MJ was a genius writer and performer. I saw him live at Wembley and frankly, the showmanship was dazzling. Highly charismatic! He deserved to be the success that he was due to his talent!

A troubled soul and much maligned in recent years, an emotionally damaged shy person off the stage, very eccentric and stupidly naive in many respects.

I guess if you are too young to have experienced the development of this legend and his music, or just don’t like the style of music, or believe everything you read in a news paper, you might not think this is a big deal.

I do agree that the news channels are overdoing it though. BBC News 24 always get “stuck” and exclude all other news. I’ve complained to them a few times about this. I recommend you do the same. They might then listen.

Spongebob – you don’t think we’ve reached saturation point then?

Not at all! A multi-cultural Britain is enriching in many positve ways. I embrace it. This is not a race issue! Why can’t people get their heads round the fact that tolerance of different cultures and religions is a two way street? That means we all live together and make compromises. If one religious group decide they want to go off the end of the scale and impose an alien culture to the extent that it disregards and disrespects other cultures, they must surely realise they are going to be met with contempt. There are wise people in all cultures, all walks of life, so what the heck is going on here?

Balance! That is what I avocate. We need to look for what we have in common, not what sets us apart!

Religion can easily become highly divisive. For the past decade or so, it has become nuch more of an issue in the UK, but I don’t really know why. We all used to live in relative peace, but look at what has happened in places like Bradford for example – a fiercely divided community – very sad!

Some say we are experiencing the Islamification of Europe and that these extremist Imam preachers of hate have come and poisened the minds of good European citizens. I don’t think people are that stupid are they? Conversely, opposers of these ideas irrationally react by shrieking “racist”, that the objectors must surely be akin to Hitler and the Nazis etc. It is NOT racism! It’s this sort of bullying reaction, the and irrational silencing of free speech, that means for example; idiots like the BNP not getting the opportunity fully expose their nasty hidden agenda – to victimise good people, people who contribute a great deal to society, but who happen to have the wrong colour skin. We can’t debate why the Muslim community have been ramping up their crusade to convert ethnic communities to a much more authoritarian Islamic doctrine. Challenging this would be so politically incorrect, but what about the abuses that people are suffering as a result of this? It is not ok to beat your wife, or to disrespect Jews, or homosexuals. I listened to BBC R4 woman’s hour about a group of muslim women who are in fear of their lives. Honour killings, forced marriages. All sorts of abuses of human rights brought about by Islamic culture. Sorry guys, but this matter needs to be aired!

I stand for peace, freedom and anti-stupidity. No religion fits in with this i’m afraid. Superstition is something born out of fear and ignorance. We really need to rid ourselves of this mumbo jumbo!

We need to be able to ask why there is so much hostility towards British culture. Why so many good people have rejected compromise and respect for others. My guess is they have either been bullied into it, brainwashed, or both.

(waiting for some unthinking person to call me a racist or right wing extremist – i’m neither, so don’t waste your time)

I’ll carry on observing. I hope my take on the situation turns out to be wrong.

The Burka should be strongly discouraged in Britain as it’s offensive for anyone to cover their face in western culture.

As Western women respect the culture when visiting arab countries by covering up, Muslims who live here should respect our culture.

We tolerate all faiths in the UK, far more than than in most parts of the Middle East.

It’s a simple give and take compromise – something we Brits excel at IMHO. Or would becoming tolerant be regarded as an erosion of a Muslim’s human rights and we’d get sued?

Let’s have a bit of balance shall we!
