I try never to think about bamboo flooring, with remarkable success, till now

    Tit.

Had bamboo flooring in bathrooms for 5 years – handles moisture really well but not as hardwearing as oak.

Don't think you can get laminate bamboo, I think it's all solid.

Did it last summer (JOGLE) and it was awesome. Managed to choose the hottest two weeks of the year which helped.
My blog has all the B&B info which will save you a lot of time.

Wouldn't want to do LEJOG – ending up in JOG is not fun. Prevailing wind is a myth too – once you're north of Edinburgh the wind goes round in circles……

we probably spent that on wood though, but am safely smug in the fact that I am doing my bit for the environment, apart from importing the stove from Sweden that is.

Swings and roundabouts on that front. Some Canadian cities have smog in the winter due to the popularity of woodburners.

Saying that we've got Franco Belge Belforts and I wouldn't be without them.
    From my experience:
Don't buy a cheap one – the Machine Mart specials are crap.
Don't feed it crap or resinous wood.
Good wood – ash, oak, apple, beech.
bad wood – pallets (from the pallet tree, obviously), any fir / pine. Willow (no calorific value).

We sell lots of the standard buff-a-likes (Morf) – £5 including delivery.
Easily warm enough for snow rides in the past couple of weeks.
And they have some 'silver protection' ballcocks that's meant to stop them turning green when you leave them in the boot of the car for a week after a ride.

Yet to see a sensible explanation of how iTunes is so bad.

It's not so bad – but it's the fact that you have to use it, or other software to manage music files (sharepod is free and much better). itunes is more of a store with a player tacked on to it.

The iPod has 'proper drag-and-drop', in iTunes you just select manual management of music and video.

Contradiction in terms. With the Sony you don't need any software at all to transfer files.

Like a few others I have both a Sony and an ipod – Sony wins hands down for sound quality, although line-out volume is lower than the ipod. Sony UI is just as good as the ipod.
If you want huge storage, go for the ipod, if you want quality go for the Sony.

    Shouldn't it be "have"?

    Yep. You win, um, nothing.

    Customers, not staff, come first.

You won't get customers in a LBS without decent staff – you only get away with that if you're Tesco / Asda etc

    +1 for the Mobi.
And you gain a few 'friends' at the end of the ride who want to 'see what it's like'.

Better (but much slower) than a jetwash as it doesn't blast grease + oil out of every nook and cranny.

The trail guide on this site is good for Wotton (look for Cotswold rides), but Nailsworth is a good starting point.

A group of us go from a different pub every week – will give you a shout when we next go to Nailsworth / Nympsfield.

Ordered a set of wheels on the 23rd and they turned up today.
Probably should have told the wife I'd ordered them before they turned up, but hey, ho.

Got a Mobi, and it's very useful. Just don't go thinking it's a pressure washer – it's not. Took mine to Cwmcarn yesterday and there was enough water in one tank to do four bikes – not spotless but pretty good.
