Have you any idea how busy kids are these days? Lots of homework and studying to do most nights, football training, rugby training, scouts then football and rugby matches Saturday and Sunday mornings.

I suppose he could say goodbye to a decent education and level of physical fitness and work in a cafe instead.

Well yes, im 14, work on a saturday ,go biking on a tuesday and a sunday, do all my homework , and still have more than enough time left over to tinker pointlessly with my bike for hours every night.

Its an FSA V-Drive crankset… you reckon BB? what would be causing it?

If its external bearings (can see through the axle with cranks on and one side of the crank is attached permanently to an axle ) probably not, but if its any other type, isis in particular(splined integrated axle),square taper ,octalink etc,it probably is. Theyre very problamatic types of bb and worth it in the long run to upgrade to external bb's.

im not sure about the formula but why do you need 1800 lumens!

cree torches instead of bike lights? £15 for 230 lumens and 3.5 hour battery life, £100 for 120 lumens and 2.5 hour battery life.

that beamshot is of an earlier version, look at the video for refrence

they brung out a cree upgrade and then a new improved one that fixed problems i think. The 'extreme' version, TLE-5EX Ministar 2.

Beam shot taken at about 1.5m from the wall on an iphone. Tesco on the left mag aa on the right. using new batteries in both.

could you tell me which tesco torch that was and how much is it?

got this upgrade for my mini maglite and another for my D-cell maglite. The AA maglite is bright but not that impressive. Definitely not as bright as the Tesco torches some of my friends ride with. The D cell maglite is stonking. However I converted both to save on batteries. I hate it when you come to use a torch and find the batteries flat.

just to verify as this will affect whether i buy one was it the exact same one not the normal led upgrade?

I did the upgrade the other week and to be honest I didnt think it is that great. My Tesco 3w AA is much brighter. If i get a chance I will try and sort some beam shots out.

Was that the standard 3 LED upgrade? Was it a cree(little yellow tint in the middle and flat) upgrade?

You could get 2 tesco torches for the cost of that upgrade

2 one watt tesco torches, this is a 5 watt upgrade

if you wrap it in 1 layer of broken inner tube, zip tie 3 times with small ones, then use bigger zip ties to attach to your helmet it wont come off.

ive heard somthing about it getting hot, shouldnt be too bad with cold air at night though. I currently have the cheap non-cree led upgrade on my aa maglite and it isnt that bad as a climbing light, not enough for descending though. That wont bee half 140 lumens i dont think so that cree upgrade should be pretty good.

'im only riding on gravel paths to link local trails' As in to link mtb routes. Im just wondering if my mountain kings are particularly bad on loose gravel paths as they feel unstable(to me anyway but i do have a bad history with loose gravel paths and the likes)and i get mocked for not pedalling much on them.

once youve got fox, theres no going back, i personally would get the vanilla 32 r because its coil(smoother travel) but 140mm is 20mm over for you so im sure the f120's would be great.
