I remember having have my hand snapped off when I sold my 1998 Kula.
I had set up as a single speed with SIDs on the front.

Such a lovely bike to ride, really wish I still had it but I’m not fit enough to ride SS anymore.

Everyone should have an old Kona in their life….

absolutley; but that doesn’t stop Parcel2go needing a repair quote otherwise i can accept a reduced offer.

    Thats helpful of them !
I take you don’t have someone that can take it to a LBS and get them (for a small fee) to write a quote for the replacement ?

What material is the frame ?

Sounds like it could be more of a replacement rather than a repair quote.

I would definitely recommend pilates as well. Try and find an independent instructor if you can who will understand your needs more. This will build your core strength.

I would also be tempted to seek a second opinion on the operation advice having had 2 ops on disks myself.

Careful on the anti-inflammatories as they have now caused me kidney issues !

Or daughters experience at Cambridge and Oxford was that they just wanted 4 A* or A grades refer than three.
Really, hmm, always want to know more so I can bw helpful when the kids ask. Could you let us know when this was, what she was applying for and what a levels she did. Being a state school bio teacher almost exclusively see top kids apply to vet or medic courses so I could be in my own little echo chamber.
    Thanks in advance.

My son had exactly this when applying to Cambridge for Mechanical Engineering for this year’s intake. The same applied to Oxford’s requirements from what I remember. My son was studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

Just read the mbuk article and it says they build the frames themselves in Worthing having been on a learn to build a frame course in Kent.

Can believe this dick guy lives round the corner from me !

Off to take a look at myself in the mirror before heading out for another ride. Yep, work on Monday will be great as I’m sure it will be for many others on here.

Most unis are only after 3 subjects but a few will look at four especially if similar type of subjects.
My eldest did Maths, further Maths, Physics and Chem. This was viewed as easy by some Unis as very similar. He needed to do both Maths for his Engineering modules. Oxford/Cambridge are interest in both breadth and depth. Others less so. He managed without any problems or chasing but he was very structured in his approach.
Youngest just gone through the same predicament changing his mind several times between 3 & 4. Decided to go with 4 based on the fact that with more study to do he would actually be more focussed on it. He has gone with Maths, Further Maths, Biology and Geography.
My advice would be to stick with 4 if she is a high achiever, review at year end and see what progress she is making.

I had a Cutter Cree unit that I converted my Lumi with.
Worked well until I lost it somewhere the other year.
Still got the battery and charger for some reason.

Another vote for the knee high Seal Skins.
They might look a little silly with shorts but they are ace at keeping your feet warm and dry.
The only pair of waterproof socks that have kept my feet dry when cycling.
I am somewhat attracted to riding through big puddles !!!

The Dune frames appear to have a habit of cracking just behind the bottom bracket on the R/H chainstay & the warranty ain’t worth jack. Mine was just out of warranty(12 months) & they didn’t want to know…..

You probably spoke with GoOutdoors rather than Calibre.

I had an out of warranty crack on the chainstay / BB area and got it replaced free of charge within no time. Only needed to provide a picture and the frame number.
    Great service from Calibre Bikes.

not when you put it in a basket though, which is weird. Just ordered a pair for the original price less the still-functioning code. Went for my normal size despite having wide feet, will see how they work out.

Sounds like a case of ‘fill your boots’ hehe

I’ve just received the Scott boots from Start Fitness you mentioned.

Look really good design in terms of the tongue and cuff arrangement so can’t wait to try them in the wet and cold.

I did notice that the price has gone up from £70 to £79 on the website but still good value on the face of it provided they perform as well as they look.

I also tend to wear the knee high Sealskin socks so the water can’t drip down inside like can happen with the shorter version.

My boots arrived today, only a test fit so far but they look and feel great.
Cant wait to test them out.
Just need the new cleats to be delivered by CRC…………
I notice that the price on the website has gone up from £70 to £79, probably because of the interest this thread has generated.

180 front, 160 rear is pretty much a standard starting point, then you can adjust up or down on size depending on your type of riding and weight etc.

The latest on has been getting great reviews. The 2016 in lime green would be great !

Bubs there is a way marked trail around QE but you would need to mix it up with other stuff to make it a full day.
Some fun stuff at Whiteways but like the North Downs you need to know where it is. Again would need to be combined with something along the Downs.

Yeah I’ll put a second in for strada wheels top job with near on the same build! Bomb proof wheel set.
    http://www.stradawheels.co.ukb
Looks very promising I can get the build I wanted for 500, which is decent but I have seen the same build for 450 just can’t remember where. Anyways this could be the one I’ll go for impressed with the site.

The guys involved here have all worked in various LBS so I can be sure you will get a good service. Darren has always had a great reputation for his wheels.
