    I recently got a HP Envy 5544.
Got 8 months or so free instant ink, does double siding automatically, scans, prints from phone etc.
    So far so good.

@chris36860 – not aware of the big gap jump. I did notice the new entrance to NBC yesterday but didn’t get round to riding it.
Ive tended to stick to the original lines Tbh, I’m not a jumper so not bothered looking.

    As always…dont be a dick.

Exactly this, luckily nobody has built jumps etc, just using the natural features and deer tracks.
As mentioned before all of the tracks are used by cyclists, walkers, horse riders, deer etc.
Always seems to be very harmonious.

@daver27 – it’s a good place to go and explore. Park by the cafe then either get someone to show you around or go and explore the tracks. You are never far from the car park so can’t really get lost.
Don’t forget to stop at the cafe for a hot chocolate and a slab of cake.
    Whereabouts are you based ?

@hummer Jim – we can’t help it I’d we occasionally fall off the fire roads on a deer track, we always find our way back :)

Clearly I’m crap judge of chains.

Never gave me any issues hauling my not insignificant frame up hills on my old SS.

Admit I generally use KMC on the rest of my bikes.

I got a cheap and cheerful bivvy bag from Mountain Warehouse, paid about £20 I think.
Unfortunately they don’t seem to have them on the website at the moment.

I still think it’s just the extreme North East and North West corners which aren’t FC.
After all it was the FC that wanted to put the lodges right through the middle of the forest to the north of Denture bridleway.

Was rather ‘damp’ today after another night of rain !

    D) drive 20 mins to bike shop and buy new one

This, i like to change my helmet on a regular basis anyway.
Or should I say, it normally needs changing one acregular basis due to ‘contacts’…..

@Littlenose – it states it’s owned by the FC.

Actually, having checked the Interactive map the North East corner of the forest where the trail starts looks to be outside of the forest boundary so I stand to be corrected.

I’m often use this map link to check ROWs.

AFAIK the woods are owned by the Forestry Commission. It was the FC that was trying to put some lodges up in the woods a few years ago.
I know the trail you mean (I think) and that isn’t exactly new.

    I’m heading over tomorrow btw.

    Are they good in mud?

My experience is that my mates on skinnies are off and pushing while I continue to plug through although occasionally you will find some mud that just causes you to wash out.

It did get me up steep techy pieces I’d failed before.

    This as well.

The grip on off camber ruts etc is amazing in comparison.

The Carribbean chicken the wife made once, she thought putting 3 times the amount of rum in it would add to the taste.
The only meal I have ever thrown away in 24 years of marriage !

That includes having had several local delicacies from several trips around Asia sampling several delights !

I think my best investment was my Mountain Equipment jacket, it’s now in its early 30s and still going strong.
Just wish I had got the Patagonia fleece at the same time.
For some reason TNF never did it for me.

Have to admit that most of my layers nowadays come from Mountain Warehouse, can’t go wrong with the prices they charge.

Time to get your test meter out, take the socket face plate off and see if the

    the light switches “doesn’t work”.

actually switches power to the circuit.

My money is with Cougar that they are old round pin power sockets.

Would it be worth me considering picking up a 2nd hand Dune then?

Most definitely worth getting one. Best fun ive had in years on mine.
Best check the chainstay / BB weld as this seems to be the problem area, caused by chain suck generally I believe.
    Thats where mine went.

I contacted Mike Sanderson directly via his email and he was brilliant at sorting me out when I had my frame issue.
I found a FBF made a huge difference on the front. Lost all of the self steer and gained loads of grip.

I must admit I’ve just taken delivery of a Kona Wo…..

Any Scottish posters know what Whitelees Wind farm would be like for getting a feel for the bike?

Suggest you start a different thread about where to ride, there are loads of riders based in Scotland who can advise.
I’m a Southerner sonic no use.

BTW, go and enjoy the new bike !

Sounds like the bolts are probably bottoming out in the adaptor.
Check the length of them against the adaptor and possibly try shorter ones.

Fwiw, Kona have reduced prices this year (but they were overpriced last year imho)

I noticed this, just treated myself to a Kona Wo as my Christmas present.
Surprisingly they have now sold out, maybe Kona have reduced the quantities they are importing as well as prices.

I can’t cope with the coloured line, it doesn’t match the bike & it’s off centre!

Totally agreed with this. Kept being distracted by the wonky blue line on my Jumbo Jims last night.

Twice I’ve suffered from severe sciatica following disc problems twice.
On both occasions I continued to ride as it was the only way I could relieve the pain.
I struggled to get my leg over the bike but provided I didn’t have to stop too often it was great. Once on the bike I felt great.
My consultant was happy for me to continue it felt right for me, he said it wouldn’t cause any issues at all.

The actual amount of helium put into the balloons is very small.
Its actually grossly contaminated with air and thus can’t be used in applications where high grades of purity are required (such as MRI scanners)

Have to agree that I struggle to see why people feel the need to let these things go, whats the point ????

10% isn’t a great discount. Less tax and NI alone it’s a thin profit

It was 10% of the RRP,not 10% off the RRP…….

    Edit: Damn beaten to it…..

Wait… Have you already done this?!
I’m no engineer, but I reeeeeeally don’t think taking 1.4mm out of the wall thickness of a seat tube is a good idea. Ever.
Unless your bike is actually made it scaffolding poles. Surely there can’t be any tube left?!
    This needs pictures.

Submarined – Nope, he would be machining out from 30.0 to 30.9 then sleeving so taking off 0.45mm. Maybe that’s why you aren’t an engineer :)

About 30 bottles of wine, numerous boxes of chocolates and a leg of Prosciutto ham donated by my lovely suppliers.
All ready to be dished out to my staff on Friday, apart from the ham of course, that has my name on it :)

How about picking up the Downs Link path to take you down to the South Downs by Shoreham. Nice and scenic, plenty of places to stop for a coffee along the way.
Or of course head north and take the path all the way to Guildford. Not too exciting but certainly safer than the roads.

Edit: Forgot to mention that Tilgate Park isn’t far by car either.

As you mention, it used to be Freeborn but no longer.
I believe that there is currently no distributor in the UK so direct to the US is the only route.

Dial in some more sag on your forks to compensate for the 15mm rise that you would probably never notice anyway ?
