My 2 FS bikes have been abandoned in the garage since about July.
I’ve used for my Fatty for every ride since.
Ask me again next year……but at the moment I just love the smiles it gives me from riding it especially off camber grip, it leaves my friends on skinnies for dead :)

So my RennKompressor guage has a thread of about 12mm (1/2″?)

How have you measured it ?
I suggest you check thread dimensions on a chart before jumping to conclusions as to what the actual thread size it. That could actually be a 1/4″ thread…

The very similar to the type of gauge I was going to try.
The ones I can get from work are 0-35psi, a 50mm face and I think a 1/4″ gauge fitting.

I am looking to take my track pump apart this weekend if I get a chance to check connections.

I’ll check my spares box and see if I have any left :)

I had some plastic sleeves with a collar that fitted over the cable then slid inside the cable guide which then kept everything tight.
I know I left some attached the Kona frame I sold a few monmths ago.

I can have a look in my parts bin at home and see if I have any left over.
I think there were 2 guides on the top tube ?

Hmmmm, not heard of the trail centre before so looked it up.

It says on the MBWales that it’s got a grant from the FC for upgrading so I wonder if it is bad news after all ?

Hmmm…..

Leaves disappointed after expecting to see video of crash.

Honestly, glad you got away with no major injuries.

Why not add another spacer to the BB if you are concerned.
If will effect your chainlike but difficult to know whether for the better or worse !

Edit: beaten to it grrrr

I’d rather that I think than be carved open on a whim.

I had my disc operated on and was up and walking within hours, completely pain free.
It was an absolute blessing not to have to take any drugs :)

Was impressed as it had fallen out of the bag so was rattling around in the drum as well.

Please do not try this at homes kids……..

There really isn’t much accomodation in Amberley other than Amberley Castle.

There is this B&B a couple of hundred metres off the route – Sustins

Or this one – Arun Valley

So if we stay in the middle riding west to east both days is best with the prevailing wind at our backs?

Most definitely the best direction to ride but can’t rule out an Easterly wind but they are rare at that time of year.
Make sure you book the wind direction in advance….

The Amberley mount climb is a great way to warm up!

Lovely start with cold muscles :)

There is a YHA at Truleigh Hill if that floats your boat. About 55 miles in, otherwise Steyning is slightly less.
YHA

Worthing is about half way (where i live) but is a couple of miles the main route. Not sure of anything at Washington.

What time of year are you thinking of ?

I have a GPX if you need one.

Mountain Warehouse always have deals on. Often tops for £6, got some merino mix ones for £12 – £15.

Just to clarify, both of my rips were straight through the main tread, not the sidewalls.
I guess thats the price to pay (or not) for the Liteskins.
Not my choice for sure…..

Sounds like the same wind we had on the South Downs.
Was lovely in the sun if you found some shelter, otherwise it was biting !

If it is self steer you will probably notice it on off camber trails as well.
Lower pressure will make it worse.
Some tyres patterns are worse than others.

I’ve got Jumbo Jims Addis blue stripe, came on new Kona Wo.

Two small rips in 2 rides on the rear, I’ve probably only ever had 2 similar rips in many years.

Work of the devil, avoid avoid avoid.

*veteran of several terrifyingly random unclippings when experimenting with multi release. Only really good for pootling on the flat and level, which begs the question why you’d use SPDs.

The same experiences of them here. Even when I upped the tension on the pedals I would pull out of the pedals when ever I stood up on hill or started to apply lots of force.
Never, ever use them again……

I’m currently using a pair of the knee high version. So much better than the shorter versions I’ve had the past due to the extra length.
(Ooooh missus…)
Lets wait and see how long it takes for the cuff to go baggy……..

if it feels weird and the tyre feels softish I put a bit more air in, if the tyre feels hardish I let a bit of air out.

This is true but when swapping between tyres they have a very different feel so would be good to have a datum to start at and then adjust from there.

Cheers gents – that table makes interesting reading.

As nedrapier says, even in the south we can have a large temp swing.

@andreasrhoen – due to the low pressures on the fat tyres a slight difference in pressure makes a huge difference in feel. I’m typically running about 8-9psi (I think….).

@TINAS – exactly, these things are never straight forward. It might be time to take the track pump apart and see what check valves are already in the assembly.

has 0.5psi increments but as above, it’s more about the consistency than an absolute value.

Yes, exactly, consistent and a small range that can actually be read !

The gauge on my current track pump doesn’t start reading until about 10psi, probably with an accuracy of +/- 50% as well !

@nedrapier – I have direct access to gauge manufacturers with my work, just not really bothered thinking about it before as its never been an issue.

@BadlyWiredDog – that has given me an idea, maybe I should just look at ways of incorporating a better quality calibrated gauge into my track pump.

Hmmmmm

I’m certainly not paranoid about pressures and normally just work with the standard squish test that scotroutes mentioned.

I’m still feeling my way with differing pressures so I guess I need something to re-calibrate my squish test against to measure 8psi rather than 30psi !

Exactly…. every car needs to be ‘taxed’ even if you pay zero.

As well paying £0 you need to provide proof of insurance details and MOT (where appropriate)
Owner of a zero VED vehicle for many years.
The process has changed slightly in recent years and can be done online now I think – I always leave it to my SO to ‘pay’ it :)

Certainly continental European countries have a different approach to delivery of goods and paying for things.

From a business view I recently ordered a large quantity (value) of goods from a company in France that we have never dealt with before.
They were happy to ship the goods to me and then accept payment after we had received them. No upfront payments were required.
There is no way that UK companies would operate in this way but clearly business and probably personal payments are viewed and handled differently to what we regard as ‘normal’.

Alternatively use the inner ring that actually has teeth left on it rather than just some serrations and spin at a higher cadence :)

Take a read of this

Hot and cold will need to go through the pump, they are double headed for this purpose.
Whether you need a single or 2 separate pumps will depends on things like location and throughput etc, are both sowers often used together ?

You need to ensure that your incoming water pressure isn’t compromised by trying to pull too water through to feed both showers with hot and cold water together.

Another vote for MDF here. I often struggle to match up the features in my 30s property with either product but MDF seems easier to deal with and gives a better finish for architrave.
For skirting I have also had some specifically planed when I needed a 4m length to make good.
