Let me add another absolutely not.

As pictonroad says, probably the worst condition I’ve seen it in for years.

Another vote for Mountain Warehouse tops. I have a drawer full of various materials and variants .

I do prefer a mid layer with a zip and loose sleeves so i  can adjust the coverage and warmth.

I seldom wear more than a base and a mid layer as I run (cycle) warm.

Suggest we ask Geoff Capes for his input, if you are of the same age group as me.

Been biking for about 25 years and never heard such bollox about cranks before.

From an above average weight rider

I keep looking at the Arkose and wanting to buy one but how the hell do I justify it when I have no use for one !

I either to change jobs or move house or retire.

Help, the teal and the luminous yellow look lovely !

    Help me justify !

When I had my disc go the first time, I found cycling was about the only way I could get about. I think being on the bike helped to stretch my back and aliviate the pain. The biggest problem was getting on the bike in the first place.

To highlight the question above, check waterworks operate properly. Some long term nerve damage is not unusual but I wouldn’t expect it to be totally numb.

I was back cycling within 2 months of being operated on.

Most likely dead as repairing aluminium succesfully is not as straight forward as steel.

The palm tree outside my office in fluttering gently in the breeze with the sun reflecting off the leaves.

Damn, when will the snow hit Hampshire so I can send my staff home ?

Would be EXO for me as well on the South Downs.

My Schwalbe Liteskin JJs have been picking up thorns for fun recently while the Minion EXO has never missed a beat.

    Thats me stuffed clearly :)

    Cheers guys.

Think there might be a change of plans and just use the gym at the hotel.

I was cycling slowly along my local prom last summer when my bike came to a sudden halt. What the hell I thought as I jumped off, only to notice small rat type dog on extending lead wrapped around my rear wheel and mech.
Owner started to abuse me from the other side of the path saying I shouldn’t be cycling there. I politely pointed out the cycling sign behind her as which point she started spitting out a tirade of abuse.
I always keep an eye out for extending leads in shared use areas……

Plenty of threads on it recently, do a quick search for some reading up on the SDW.

@stanfree – actually that video looks not bad to be honest. I was a bit wary when the wife first mentioned it.

I can’t help unfortunately but I’m interested as well as I’m visiting for a day in August and the SO has mentioned the ebikes.

    No way I would manage 2 !

Ask on here as you get real life experiences from people in similar situations.

Recently started on citalopram after being clear for many years so interested in replies.

I wouldn’t want to use the Mammoth during the winter but could be a good dry condition tyre.
    Very good price though !

Just left in the garage with the remains of the water from the ride.
Top up before next ride then repeat.

Often the cheaper one is the one in a rank colour that nobody wants and they have piles of them left.

As mentioned, both valves need to be opened to allow the water from the mains to top up the system.
The 1 bar pressure will be for a cold system, this will be higher if the system is hot.

As others have said its gummed up games on the turbo.
Most garages will recommend replacement of turbo.
Had the same issue in a VW Touran.
The wife just kept running it as she was more gentle on the throttle.
Eventually traded it in after a couple of years of it first happening.

Is definitely down to company policy.

My wife is allowed to drive my car but my son can’t. For another part of the company which we took over a while ago anyone can drive provided they have a license.

Unfortunately you need to make that phone call to HR or find the car policy and read it !

I thought the hill after Amberley was worse. Washington is it? It seemed to keep going on and on!

Known locally as Cardiac Hill, but in my mind easier than Amberley.
Much more fun coming down, especially when there are no walkers about !

Only time I’ve made it up Amberley Mount without dabbing was on a bivi ride with a couple of kilos in a bar bag!

I always hate that hill. I remember my HRM screaming at me one day but I managed to clear it.

Nothing more to add really but seeing as this is my backyard I wanted to post !

My choice of bike when I did it in day was a very short travel FS, a Kona HeiHei. Enough spring to take the bumps away but still very light climbing.
I trained by working up to 60 mile sections of various sections of the SDW so when it came to the event day I didn’t need to worry about route finding.

Watch out for the chalk in the wet. Slippery as teflon.
Watch out for the flint in the wet and the dry. Can rip tyres very easily

    Enjoy it :)

It’s interesting to see that the buyer is also bidding on loads of other bicycle parts although I can’t see what.
Has he bought the wrong size and wants you to pick up the cost ?

Another thing I found with Pilates is that the instructors seem to be constantly telling you that your position isn’t quite right, seems you have to be millimetre perfect which I’m a bit dubious about. I’ve not had that experience with yoga.

I questioned my pilates instructor about this the other week. I mentioned that she often picks people up for doing it wrong but doesn’t tell us when we do things well. Apparently its what they taught to do.

Anyway, pilates really helps me with my dodgy back and core strength. Again I notice it if I miss it for a couple of weeks.

We buy everything with the Tesco credit card, paying it off monthly.

We do the same, virtually everything we spend goes on the card to maximise the points. We used to have a Plus account for extra points as well.
I also fill my car up there so although the spend goes on a fuel card I still get the points.

    Racks up pretty quickly.

I contact the shop who admit they no longer occupy those premises and are directing returns to an empty building.

At this point I would be camped inside the shop and not leaving until the refund was in my bank.

175mm on my mountain bike, the 17somethings on the roadbike just feel so small and twiddly.

Swapping the chain ring is the single most important thing as far as I’m concerned.
The rings supplied cause chain suck which in turn damages the chain-stay leading to the potential crack issues.

The brakes can wait unless you going to the Alps, but you look to be in East Anglia !

The tyres aren’t bad either unless you are in really deep mud.

    Enjoy :)

In terms of a pump I would really recommend a Topeak Mountain Morph.
Much bigger volume than a standard mini pump but still fits in a Camelbak.

The thread size relates to the ID of the pipe designed to fit into the thread.

So for example the pipe fitting into a 1/2″ BSP thread will be approx 15mm but the thread will measure approx 20mm or 3/4″.

Clear as mud isn’t it :)
