They are pretty much a 2 seater. As stumpy says I doubt you will get an anorexic child in the rear !
It might help if the SO is only 4' tall and moves her seat right forward, oh, and take out the passenger seat……….

it's fairly obvious that the wings RB & Ferrari used in the race flexed a lot less than they did in recent races

But then Spa is a low down force circuit so not as important as outright speed.

However, I am keen on Ferrari getting a good kicking for once…………
Mind you watching Schumi struggle is just as much fun :)

Uplink – the link I posted is for the Sussex police. I guess if anybody, they will do something about people whinging especially as they have set this up specifically.

    A pleasure Si ;)

So what happened – spill the beans….

I've spent a bit of time around there.

I would say that you need nice weather to enjoy a boating trip there. The scenery is nice and I'm sure you can find some pleasant places to stop off at for a meal and beers…….
Very limited night life from what I have seen.
Guess a lot of it depends on what you want from it ?

However, if it rains I would imagine it would be suicidal

Blimey – need to be careful when you get out of bed in the middle of the night.
Need you wits about you or a nasty fall lol 8O

    Never seen them before

Blimey – how did that dropout break ?

BTW – love the bike, I think the red goes really well with the white and black.
Reminds me of my SS Explosif that I had red hubs on. Just sold it sniff sniff..

As for the Jones bars, not my taste but I guess they are really handy on a SS. I just went the cheap way and used bar ends.

I once got sent a PSP from Woolworths when somebody hacked my credit card account. They obviously weren't very cleaver !
Anyway I phoned the credit card company about it and they weren't interested. Phoned Woolworths and they said they would arrange collection, a couple of weeks when past with nothing. Phoned them again but nobody was interested as they didn't seem to know what to do.

After about 9 months I sold it. I'm sure I checked up on the internet somewhere and it gave a timespan of 6 months. After this time you can claim the goods as your own.

I have started to add posts at the end of some of the dealings I have had on the Classified recently. Just adding 'sold – many thanks' or 'item received' etc.
It doesn't take much and who knows might help somebody out.
Don't think I've had any horror stories to date. Sometimes items you buy appear worse when you receive them or in a case this week some forks looked better in the flesh than the photos !

I've had to re-register on here as I haven't been for a while but luckily I've still many to buy and sell quite a lot in the couple of weeks I've been back. However, I have been spending far too long on the forum but then having a bad back laying on the floor most of the day what else can I do ? :?

Quirrel – those Geax look quite similar to the very old Conti Cross Country mud tyres from yesteryear.

I think the wife had a pair in 1.5" width 8O

On my long travel bike I have been running WTB Timberwolf for the last 2 winters. They are built like a motocross tyres. A bit draggy but simply great for grinding through crud ;)

My neighbour had squealing pads on his XT the other week, and he likes to use his brakes as he minces along. I was unfortunately stuck behind him on a 2 mile section of singletrack – my ears were ringing by the end of the run !

Anyway he replaced them with some after market pads and all was fine.

Suck it up. If in doubt re-align everything again, take a bit od sandpaper to the pads and try again. Certainly doesn't warrant replacement in my eyes.

Think he replaced the sintered with organic as well.

The Mavic Crossride wheels are a reasonable package. They look good and run well, not too heavy. Sound more than enough for the type of riding you are looking at doing.

No experience of the Juicy 3 brakes so can't really comment. However, /i do know Merlin do some good deals on brake/wheel packages so you can't go too far wrong.

Forgot to say that I use a plastic container and lid from the local chinese takeaway. That way I can fill with petrol then leave the chain to soak with the lid in place :)

    Splash-man

I've used petrol to clean my chains for years. It works a treat at getting all the cr@p off them.
Then I rinse in water, spray with GT85 and leave to dry.

Apply lub of your choice once fitted back on the bike :)

Hmmm – seen the Easton Havoc on the new Kona – do look nice even if the logos are rather BIG.
No idea how they ride tho :?

Why do you need left-handed iron ?

I'm left handed and don't have any problems, so what would be different with a lefthanded iron ?
    I think he's just making excuses ;)

If you don't like the clicky Hopes go for a super silent Mavic. Been riding mine for ages and got used to it, then took my bike out with the Hope Pro 2 on it and scared the living daylights out of myself the first time I free-wheeled. Felt so stupid…………….

I guess it depends on what you ordered but normally you would expect to receive either an IS or a post mount adaptor for each brake.

    Splash-man

Depends on why you want to do !

If you want to do for the experience of a endurance type event then yes feel free to come down and do it.
If you want to do purely for 'mountain biking' then the answer probably is no.

To sum up – Lovely countryside, views etc, some grinding but short climbs but nothing technical.

ps – I live right by SdW so it is my play area lol

except for when you drop them for fun !

It is fun, yeah. Much more fun then averaging 5mph.

I agree there are times when you want to go fast but there are also time when its good to slow down and appreciate the countryside and your company. Infact if you are clever you even put all of these together into one enjoyable ride and still keep a good average speed.

Maybe you are riding with the wrong people ??????

Motivates them to get fitter. Going slow is boring.

Actually this would only motivate me to drop you as a cycling partner

My SO refuses to go near my cycling kit so that is definately down to me !

I'm happy to a load through the machine then hang it out or stick it in the dryer depending on the day.

I draw the line at ironing nowadays…….well, sometimes I will iron my work shirts but everything else is over to her :)

Maybe it's in my blood from my time in the forces when I used to have a bat man to do my ironing and bring a cup of tea in the mornings – those were the days ;)

Not used them. Was with Standard Life who I found very good when I needed to claim. Now in the process of making a claim with AXA ppp – no issues yet……..operation next week and just waiting for the final approval.

I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion. In your idea of a social ride, everyone gets split up on the descents and the climbs? In our idea of a social ride, everyone sticks together for the whole ride except for anyone who's not quite fit enough to keep up, then gets waited for.

…except for when you drop them for fun !
Get your facts straight one way or the other before you spout ;)

Another piece of advice – never raise to the bait unless you can put up a 1st class rant – you will be flamed…………………

thanks for typecasting me as a crook, i appresiate that, you hardly know me but seem to think just because someone else got ripped off by a classified only poster that i will do the same….maybe i should befriend you within the forums first so its easier for me to rip you off!?…
    there!! that's my rant over….for now…

A level results came out yesterday, lots of mates going lower then what they needed to get in, and still getting in. I needed 3 As, got myself A*AAB. Pretty pleased.

Off to Exeter around October time to do lots of cycling, drinking, badminton, and maybe a bit of maths if I feel up to it. Can't wait.

We have great social night rides our area, but they really are fast paced. As in, people do get dropped.

So not particularly sociable for the people that get dropped then…..

And since when should I not have a beverage of my choice when I return home or stop at a pub ?
Sometimes I have tea, sometimes hot chocolate, sometimes beer. Why shouldn't I ??

If you go with a larger casette you will have a lower gear for climbing but will not lose your top gear for when you want speed !

So my option would be change casette not chainring first.

Which is most important ? Top speed or climbing ability ?

Just do as you mention. It could be that some of the travel is taken up with negative travel.(Not sure how the floats work but it can happen on other makes)
Take all the air out of all the chambers and test them as you say.

Well its been dry today in Sussex with a good breeze that has just dropped off a little. I reckon that should certainly have helped to dry off the overnight rain.
