@ Jeff – yes the 2017 WoZo is looking good value at the moment unless I can find a frame only deal with the right dimensions to swap components over with.

The WoZo keeps appearing in my advert feed just to remind me…….

I have no idea about the compression socks but the long Sealskinz socks are absolutely ace in my experience. Well worth the money even if they can look stupid at times due to the length.

@dangebrain – no I didn’t have to sign for it but the parcel I got a couple of days later was delivered in the same manner but had the tracking number.
I’ve also noticed despatches arecgetting slower. You receive an email saying it’s been despatched but it doesn’t register as being with Royal Mail for a couple days.

    Yodel ? Noooooooooooooooooo

I’m sure I have an adaptor which you can screw onto the Presta valve and then clamp the Schrader gun fitting onto the top.
Unfortunately I’ve no idea where I got it from, it might have come with a set of Mavic wheel :)

I had a similar thing the other week. The tracking number stated on line was garbage. I had to wait until Royal Mail sent me a text in the morning to say they were going to delivery it that day.
Another order I placed the same week came through with the tracking details correct.
Might be something to do with some order being despatched by Wiggle (apparently)

Zippykona – I had a basic TIG repair done on my frame but without proper heat treatment etc it didn’t last long before the crack grew.
Unfortunately the cost of the frame doesn’t warrant spending too much on it.

Its looking like a Kona Wozo is top of my birthday list at the moment.

Mine was also where the drive side chain stay meets the bottom bracket :(

    Clearly a common fault.

Not sure I would want to be climbing that ladder right behind another person

My has gone on the drive side chainstay where it meets the bottom bracket. I’ve heard of others going in the same place.
Real shame as I’ve really enjoyed riding it.

Normal Man – there is definitely a number of frame failures around on them.

Agreed the Smokestone looks great if you could just swap everything across.

Mugboo – have you broken your Dune or just anticipating it ?

I get embarrassed if I buzz the rear wheel of a mate let alone a stranger !
I think I would just just slowed down on purpose to piss him off.

The Smokestone is certainly interesting but unfortunately the rear dropout is smaller……

Think I miss my Dune on tomorrow’s ride !
80mm of travel on my Hei Hei won’t bring the same smiles per miles.

    Splash-man

The Dune has 197mm rear dropouts.
Unfortunately that Trek is too big. I would be looking at 17.5 or 18″ frame ideally.

Roverpig, I already have a 5/6″ travel trail bike, and a short travel full suspension XC bike.

This is just the fun bike at the moment but has been my go to bike since I got it.

The frame only option was one thought I had in my mind but was thinking I would need to upgrade a number of components so maybe a full bike would be a better option.
    A 2017 Kona Wozo is looking attractive….

Take a look at the latest Kona Hei Hei offerings, very wide range in terms of wheel size and travel. Rave reviews.

I’ve certainly been pulled over and fined for obscuring the number plate. The copper said the reason was they can’t get for me speeding through a camera !
After that I just got a socket wired into the boot of the car by the local tow bar fitter to save any grief.

    Cheers Whitestone.
Time for me to up the mileage then

The scenery looks awesome. I’ve added it to my must do list.
Just not sure how much of it I’ll manage in one go.
How long do people reckon it would take for mere mortals to complete ?

Paid mine off at mid 30s with redundancy money then 5 years later moved and took on the biggest mortgage I have had.
Hopefully pay this one off at 55, 6 years to go…..

I just use a neoprene stretchy one on mine bike with a hole snipped out where one of the guides is located.

It seems to be a bit of a random glitch I think.
The wife couldn’t get the details and prices to show last night but it worked fine for me so I ordered my own birthday present :)

Whiteways is good at night, a good mix of open trails and tree covered single-track where a helmet mounted light makes a huge difference.
Nothing too technical to worry about.

In my experience it seems as if 24″ wheels get out grown fairly rapidly.
Both my boys moved from 20″ to 26″ wheels. They went directly to a 16″ frame.
The benefits of going with a 26″ wheel frame is that you can easily change frames and components are all of the readily available and generally cheap second hand if wanted.
Mine both had front suspension but I changed out things like stock handle bars and seat posts as these are generally made from solid scaffold poles.
I had disk brakes on the kids bike but purely because that was what I had available in terms of wheels.

I had the same disc operated on when I was 40 and again exactly 3 years later following more problems.
It has left me with damaged nerves so my calf muscles constantly twitch but it doesn’t stop me cycling at all.
It did take a while to get back to fitness but a subsequent shoulder operation didn’t help either.
I’ve been doing Pilates ever since the operation and rarely get any pains but if I’m going away for a weekend of cycling I might take some anti-inflammatories as a precaution.
I’m 48 now and appreciate my private health care every day !

Don’t be concerned about having the operation, you will be able to push just as hard afterwards.

I’m a Crossmark fan as well.
Ride them year round cross country on my Hei Hei.
Roll well on the road and the winter handling keeps you awake and your reactions up to speed.

Aracer – correct, just need to keep it running. It rarely get used other than ripping music and a few other bits.
It has been on my ‘to do list’ for a while but the wife keeps adding more important things to the list.

Am I better off clonning the drive to the SSD then upgrading or doing a clean install ?
In would prefer the former from a point of view of having all the software ready loadec etc

    ^^^^ What he says.

Been there, seen it, done it !

You will come across all sort of different size fittings and diameter of pipe that are completely non-standard. Where possible just run new lengths of pipe back as far as possible.
Lots of new products like plastic or plastic coated metal are much cheaper than copper and a lot easier to work with and joint etc.

I’ve checked the CPU and it is supported so that should be fine.
    Currently 3Gb of RAM fitted.

I would go with the humorous side to start with then finish off the complaint with a serious side.

    Best of both worlds :D

Anywhere that sells electrical goods has a requirement under WEEE to accept goods even if they haven’t sold it. Therefore pretty much any shop selling electrical items have a duty to take items.
I know my local tip does but reading above I guess it varies.

Nothing to add at this point but I have just picked one up 2nd hand. Everything is standard on mine apart from a Deore rear mech.
Lots of fun so far but the self steer from the Juggernaut front is horrendous.
Need to try some different pressures I think and looking for different tyres.

    Any one tried Minions ?

I’m a tight fisted Southerner

I’m pretty sure that there wont be many of this model Cinder Cone hanging around so I’ll pop down there in a moment and leave the details with them.

The good news is that the new headset for it arrived today to replace the manky M Part one on there, saved me a job.
Guess that needs to be returned to CRC now :)

Hi guys, I’ve already stuck a picture on the Worthing Facebook page.
It was a 2004 vintage Cinder Cone.
    Cinder Cone

All original apart from the tyres. 17″ frame.

I know the shop you mean so will take a look over the next few weeks.

    Splash-man

    It was Worthing, West Sussex.
A lost cause I would imagine but it was grey, 17″, pretty standard really, nothing to make it stand out.

I might punish him by making him ride my Unit with the draggy tyres he complains about !
