Well, carbon monoxide doesn’t smell either which is why it’s known as a silent killer.
This gas is certainly not related to an Aircon system but is related to combustion such as boilers and car exhausts.
Certainly still more to come out…….

A car will only have around 1.5kg of refrigerant in it. I cant imagine that any release at this level woul even be detectable by smell.
In a previous life I was in a small room when a cylinder released 30kg of refrigerant in it. No noticeable smell to it.

    No Riddor, no compensation.

Record as a near miss to start with and investigate further.

I had a lot of connection issues between my Versa and my Huawei phone. Basically they aren’t compatible from a bluetooth point of view. The App runs fine just won’t connect properly.
It works fine when connected to my iphone instead.

What phone are you using ? Is it on the compatibility list ?

At 50 i took up running a year ago having not run since a kid and surviving 2 back operations. I weigh in at about 95kg so certainly not a skinny.
I did a Couch25k in 2 weeks, then started doing Park Runs.
I joined a local club and did a couple of 10k races before signing up for my first 1/2.
Completed it last weekend so now looking forward to working up to a full.
Recommend joining a club as it’s so much easier running in a group.
I do Pilates once a week, cycle once or twice then 2 or 3 times.
Actually preferring my trail running to my cycling at the moment so I’m now signed up o become a Run Leader

Is it worth considering a Small Claim court filing against them with a product not fit for purpose ?

I’m unsure of what the costs and procedures are nowadays but worked easily enough for me in a similar case a few (well 15) years ago.

They are ok if you sleep on your back, not so good if you are a side or front sleeper.

I’m very much a side sleeper in bed but find in the hammock back or side is just fine.
Must admit I was surprised by this.

I’ve only used my Alpkit hammock a couple of times but have been impressed with the comfort of them which is important for me as I have a dodgy back.
Much nicer than sleeping just on air mattress on the ground. Its lovely being able to just swing your legs over and step out in the morning.

As mentioned above, the only downside is that it can be colder due to the air movement below you.
Shouldn’t be an issue in this weather.

I went through a phase of using those alligator rotors

I had a set of these rotors on my SS. I swapped out a set of Magura rotors with them thinking they would suit the minimal look of the bike.
Well the braking performance was also very minimal, shocking discs.
The dentist suggested I didn’t use them again :)

I’ve been fined £60 for having my rear lights (brake/indicator) obstructed by a bike carrier. Was day time.

I had this as well. The copper explained the reasons about lights being visible from the rear but also admitted it was so they could catch your plate on camera as well.

I got the electrics done the next week…

    Doesn’t look fatal to me.

Work socks from Asda. Or any others designed to be worn with steel toecap shoes or boots. They kill socks very quickly but mine have lasted really well despite spending 5 days a week in steel toe capped shoes.

Another vote for the Asda socks.

If your system has been that badly you will end up with air and moisture inside the system.
The system will need to be under vacuum to remove the moisture before recharging (once the leaks have been resolved obviously)
Unless you have a vacuum pump and all of the gear I would suggest going to Kwik-Fit as I’m sure they wont charge you if they do a refill and find a leak.

    So….

    Take it to a garage..

Agree with MattOAB – Vauxhall seats are the worst I’ve experienced recently

To balance this, a had an Insignia a few years ago with the Sports seats as an option. These were the most comfortable seats I have had, and this is from someone with a history of bad backs.
The seats in the Mercedes C Class that followed was nowhere near as comfortable.
They also had memory function based either on a button push on the car or by which key was used to open the car so would be ideal for you.

    Tope tips gratefully received 🙂

Remember to make the most of the water tap stops and fill up at these.
Let me know if you need the details of where they are.

Often your contract will have a clause that says holiday can only be taken at a time that suits the business. The business clearly doesn’t want staff disappearing off during the busy time.
Perfectly legal if in your contract.
IE if they want to enforce this rule then are free to do so provided you are still given the opportunity to take your holiday outside of these times.

I got one last year after being fed up with squeaky expensive saddles on my fatty.
It’s absolutely fine so far, no complaints. No squeaks, comfy enough.
I guess it will always be a bit of pot luck with saddles.

    I’m in the Worthing area.
It has been raining again today but as mentioned above it will only take a coupe of windy days to dry out the puddles so I would anticipate it to be dry & fast running by next weekend.
Most of the route in my area is open track with no grass or tree cover so dries really quickly.

I found that the Citroen C3 was pretty cheap to ensure for my son last year.
The 1.4 was certainly cheaper than a 1.0 Fiesta, Ka or Corsa.
As mentioned above, try and stay away from the obvious boy racer type cars.

My son had a similar situation. We bought the car back from the insurance for 10% of the value. Car valued at £750, minus £500 excess, minus £75 salvage leaves me with £175 in profit.
I had to MOT it to prove it was roadworthy. It only had scratches to the bumper so no work needed.
Insurance company have continued to insure it so everyone is happy.
As a private seller you don’t have to declare it at time of selling.

Car was already a Cat D when I purchased it but doesn’t seem to make much difference on a £500 17 year old car.

Your best bet is to contact Mike Sanderson at Calibre.
Very helpful and he sent me a free of charge replacement frame when my second hand frame suffered the chain stay crack.

I’ll see what numbers come back – tempting to buy/do-up/sell but you’d think the buyy-back price takes account of cat C selling price and repairs?

The buy back price is usually a set % of the valuation of the car.
My son recently had a ‘bump’ and we bought it back at 10% of the valuation, so £75. The rest of settlement was paid direct to our bank minus the buy back cost.
We then had to MOT it to prove road worthiness then everything continued as previously.
All i did was T Cut out the scratches on the front bumper. There were a few other marks but nothing to worry a 18yo driver.

I was going to suggest High Titten , but apparently it’s closed. So what Splashman says.
    https://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/south-downs-way/news/high-titten-campsite-closed-upgrade

Thanks for the heads up, didn’t know that had happened to High Titten.
It was ideal for winter nights out but I never went near it in the summer.
Just hated the slog straight up Amberley Mount in the morning with cold legs.

You could try here, not far off the route.
    Washington
Alternatively park the camper in one of the carparks on the SDW near Storrington or Steyning.

i possibly stand corrected… the for rent sign MIGHT be the building next to the tattoo shop….

    But..it did look closed!

The tattoo shop certainly looked closed up with a note in the door when I drove passed on Saturday.
didn’t stop to see what the sign said.
I’m sure this has happened in the last week or so.

Auto hold brake setting leaves the brake lights on after you take your foot off the brake pedal in (all?) BMWs

    And VWG cars

    Add Mercedes to that list…….

I’m stunned no-one is standing outside their HQ (assuming people know where it is) and screaming for their frames.

Ummm, maybe that’s because ‘they’ don’t have one. Their registered business address is just round the corner from me.

I’ve been the same through the same operation twice in a few years. The last operation was 10 years ago.
I have a little sympathy for you wife as I know what the aches can be like following this operation but exercising it is key.
I found the best way to manage it was regular exercise, cycling always worked well for me, better than walking actually as less impact. I also took up pilates to help build my core.
It certainly took a few years to get back to doing what I could before hand but you also have to appreciate that there is likely to be residual pain doing certain tasks from here on in.
In the last year I have taken up running again and have my first 1/2 marathon planned for later this year.
You certainly need to get her active but as others have said, think of something that can be enjoyable but not construed as exercise.

Any pilots care to give an opinion ?

There are 3 pilots at my club, none would comment when asked..

I live local to the airport and have flown similar aircraft in the past.
I will keep tight lipped other than saying that some of the footage I saw at the time raised questions about the aircraft.
