    I really hope you’re joking.

In fact, phone ‘Injuries 4 U’ lawyers and tell them that the sign reminding your missus to remove the nozzel before driving off was too small, or obscured by birdshit.

Got one on the advice of druidh and instantly loved it. The ‘Phillipino Maidens’ effect has yet to materialise, but it didn’t take the hundreds of miles that some folk suggested it’d take break in. Superb.

Just gone from Mercedes C180 Estate to Trafic 115 crew van last week. Wish I’d done it sooner. Better fuel economy, much more practical for my life. Doesn’t appear to be as good on fuel as the figures predicted, but its still good and it might just be my driving. It has a 6 speed gearbox so I’m still getting used to it a bit!

I loved the luxury of the Merc, may one day get another one if I can afford it, but if I have to have only one vehicle, then it has to be this or something like it. The Trafic came with sat-nav and bluetooth, the Merc never had that!

Interesting the number of folk here with VW’s, I decided to get a Trafic (Vivario/Primastar) after speaking with colleagues/ tradesmen that had a lot of experience using all kinds of vans daily for their work. Except the big VW and Merc vans (Sprinter) I was advised to avoid the German stuff (Vito/ Transporter) as they’re generally less reliable despite being more expensive.

Its easy to fit round 8hr shifts, if you’re strict. But 12’s are just a write off for me, I have gone out after a 6am-6pm but it was short and I had eaten at work. Guess that s key, how much prep can you do at work? That’ll cut down the post work faff and you could still be home before 8pm after an hour or so. Time to shower and go to bed.

Benefits of shifts are that in the winter you needn’t ever need your lights and you can often ride the trails when they are at their quietest.

What you need is sheep tallow and caustic soda or lye, mix well and leave for about six weeks or so……….

    Airbags, for or against?
An Austrian client of mine was the first person to test an airbag in a deliberately set off, light-powder avalanche. He survived and was very enthusiastic about them. That was over ten years ago so why don’t I ski with one? Well I thought about the acquaintances that had died in avalanches and realised that the airbag would have been about as useful as wearing a cycle helmet when run over by a truck.

One was on a ridge when the snow he was on avalanched. A very small avalanche but a very long fall – a parachute might have helped but an airbag wouldn’t. Three others were in woods hit by an avalanche made up of ice, rocks, snow and trees. The cause of death was impact not burial.

So, an airbag wouldn’t have saved those but might encourage one to venture out on light powder days when it would be better to stay in thegasex area or watch TV. When I put my ARVA on I find myself thinking “if you need this then should you be going out?”

is this one of the “in” jokes, . . . i don’t get it? x

    He said gasex!! lolz!

    Yes Spey ,
PAA your bucket , or get it ‘hot’ from the phe transfer main
    Why flog it ?
Coz you can make it for tuppence , and sell it for pounds.

Give me a ring , leave me a 5 gall bucket ( clean ) and i will sterlise it and fill it for you .
Give you some hops and yeast if you ask nicely

You head brewer or something!? Where’s your brewery? I’ll be right over with two firkins, that’ll save me hours! How much for 18gallons?

Yes, spend a fortune on the right gear and buy real hops and grain!

Wouldn’t think any micro would flog the wort. Why when they can turn it into beer? Also, it’d start picking up infection as soon as it hit your bucket.

I do all grain all the time, 90l per brew, but I have a LOT of gear, which makes it easier. Most of it was custom made in stainless steel, so it’ll last a lifetime and the beer is as good or better than commercial scale brewers beer.

I don’t think it is worth it if you’re not doing it in bigger batches, it is very time consuming to do correctly with the all the boiling and stand times etc. Don’t take the time and you’ll waste what time you did spend as it’ll never turn out right.

I’ve seen the damage they can do in a night to a field of barley or grass, there’s thousands of them up Glenfiddich way and he doesn’t fence off his land very well. A huge problem. Make a right mess of your car when you hit them too.

Far far too many and they’re almost tame, almost no sport in shooting them IMO.

Check out info from the deer commission.

Great eating in them tho, a cull would surely drop the price of venison for a while too. Win win situation!

I went with them in May too, not much more to add but to say you absolutely should[/u] do the Granada trip if it is available. Probably the most fun I had all week and an opportunity to see a fantastic city.
