Well so far i’ve heard nothing back. If I’ve not heard by monday then im tempted to buy the cranks so at least we have a direct ebay and paypal trail we can follow and maybe push the police into action.

Fingers crossed they send it as the seller has sold an odd array of bikes, they don’t seem suspicious at first but once I saw my mates parts the other starts to look a bit odd

Ah I love a dog thread, even better now we have our own

This is Molly, from a local rescue centre. Very nervous and scared (and tired) of nearly everything when this was taken. Now she’s full of confidence and bounds up to see everybody.

    Dogs are awesome 🙂

35 quid to true a wheel? Jesus we only charge a tenner
Contact lenses I get from DAYSOFT
Previously used boots but these are just as good if not better

Tyres are expensive but that’s the only thing that I resent

I had one until I lost it, has barometer and altimeter and found it to be fantastically accurate compared to both my iphone and Galaxy s3

I know how you feel, that sucky mud was hell (and it only got worse). On the upside I only had one puncture, but I did break my pump fixing it, so thank you to the chap who lent my his pump so I could finish that lap.

here we go, from the MBR review
The Quake has adjustable geometry. The ‘Low’ position slackens the head angle to 66-degrees and lowers the bottom bracket to 13.9 inches; the ‘High’ position steepens the head angle by a degree to 67-degrees and raises the bottom bracket to 14.5 inches

You can get your lbs to order the black spire (it’s free delivery for the lbs so they shouldn’t quibble)

I’ve got an EVOC AIR +
which i find comfortable enough to wear for most of the day, it seems to be very similar to their snowboard specific one as well. I’ve also got one of their backpacks which i find great for all day riding (rather than pushups/uplifts)

It’s normal if you have a cassette without an alu spider. It’s not the end of the cassette body though, just file off the burrs and shove it all back together. I’ve been doing this for years ( since the alloy body was fitted).

a mate of mine went today and sent me text updates (we going there tomorrow) mostly along the lines of “reds are crazy” and “blacks are mental”, he did phone to say that the black runs are unlike anything else in South Wales and are the trails he’d ridden today were “quite seriously steep”

I’m not sure if its related but 2pure(the UK dist.) had been out of stock for about 2-3 months. Mine was ordered as soon as they came back in. Hopefully this points to an update of some kind.

I’ve got one on my Mega at the moment (whilst I wait for me reverb to be repaired)> I’ve done about 10-15 rides on it and so far it’s working as expected, I’m confident that If I keep the cable tension set correctly then the stanchion wear wont be a problem. I did notice when setting it up that the cable has to be “just so” to prevent the jammers from scrapping the post.

You can export gpx files of your own rides without a premium account(just tried it to be sure), if you want to export other peoples rides then that requires premium

I’ve mellowed out a bit now after a kip (4hours friday night before driving to Bristol didn’t help) and I probably agree that the majority of people were polite, although I usually heard them coming on the singletrack and took a high line on the berms shouting for them to take the inside whilst pointing. Although the guy who shouted that he was going to pass on my left on the 15 foot wide gravelly climb may have been a tad too excited about being in a team jersey.
Well done to all who raced ( and managed it politely ) and see you next year, I’m gonna do some training next time.

Not a lot of room and nobbers swapping bands at one end and running to the other to grab their bike at speed, then slowly riding off, wish i’d filmed a few now

To be fair there were quite a few riders asking politely to be let past when safe and I did so, they always said thank you. The ones who barged and wanted to pass in entirely unsafe places are the ones who spoil it for everyone.
It was still great though and a shame for those whose day (and maybe season) was spoilt by unsporting behaviour (and don’t get me started on the change over area madness)

we finished with 16 laps in the pairs cat, quite pleased as our our mates in a team of four also got 16 laps and they all half our age. Slow compared to many i’d imagine but i’m still feeling quite happy.

It did seem like team jersey wearing turned some people into angry thoughtless nobs. it wont stop me doing it (and Oktoberfest) though. I’m gonna get jersey’s made with instructions on passing politely on the back

    spev
    Full Member

Yeah, It was mostly people shouting which way they wanted to go without any thought as to whether you could actually pass. I told quite a few people they would have to wait until I was ready to let em go.
There were a few sensible (and polite) ones but they were outnumbered by the nobs.

We have two teams in, one team of teenyboppers (average age 22) and and team of two (previously three but ones ill) in the old gits. I say teams but we are way more shonky than that. We don’t even have team shirts ( unless the fabric marker pen works)
