I think as well there is a generational thing going on. I left school in the late 80’s, and it was very easy to go through school without anyone trying to give you an education.

I use mine as road/cross/a bike for riding about. and I like it.
no guard or rack mounts has set me some challenges, which I’ve worked around. But for the money pretty good value.

Have you noticed the relationship between the dullness of the car colour and last of lights is poor visibility?
Bright Yellow car = lights on
dull grey/white/silver car = lights off.

Telford, islands and indicators, I like to execute perfect lane and indicator use when driving through Telford (with my doors locked)

The guys at Rockguardz are really helpful and all great riders, they’ve built a range of Guardz in different lengths now.

The “cheaper Plastic” one is cheaper and polycarbinate, but is a quality product that works very well. The carbon ones are still available, and look ace, and the ploy ones have a bit of flex in them.

Their frame Guardz are pretty ace as well.

Fun but hard. We did the 50k. SpeshJnr did well 3rd home in the 50km, 2hr 50mish. He only put the one hour in to me.
I found some of the climbs were unclimbable and some you couldn’t because of congestion- but that’s the natural of the beast.

These events can bring out the best and worst in people. There are always people to chat to, offers of help and encouragement, plus some quality piss taking.
but there is always someone who thinks its the start of the Mega and they are up for a podium. Which brings us back to piss taking:-)

All in all a great weekend, fantastic to be a little part of Ride For Charlie, which is a great idea, the work they have done already with getting a 2nd at the Euro Juniors.

Its very easy to make a judgement from behind a keyboard, we weren’t there.
Maybe you could suggest to David Lloyds that they might want to help in his recovery, good bit of PR and would keep the incident in the news.
