THIS book tells you all you ever need to know and it's got an example of an 819 build in it.

    Great book :-)

I'd have to pay for that and it'd take 3 working days – I'm off to France for a week Friday and I wanted to fit the bits before I went really.

I can see why some people that live closer to work may want it but for me it's just a joke.

Probably – I got to the final page of an order at about 4.30 but it came back with a message saying I'd missed a step (I hadn't) and then it broke.

Now "server is too busy" or bad summit

Bang goes the rebuild planned for Sunday morning then. BLLX!

The shop don't have the main part of the order whereas CRC do and they can get it here by tomorrow. Or at least they can if the website comes back up before the post cut off or I have to go out – whichever comes first.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH! :x

Not happy, the 1st time I've tried to order from them this year and it coincides with the hamsters going on strike.

If it’s roughly the same place it was when I was there Deep Ellum is the area to go. Pretty civilised and European feeling for redneck country.

Cheers guys. I’m looking at the Merlin wheelbuilding tool and I can see EN521 or EX721 (non-disc). Not sure how a rim can be non-disc.

721 was designed for rim brakes but still works really well for DH due to the balance between weight and strength – for a good while it was what Mavic painted yellow and gave to sponsored riders who used other people’s hubs and didn’t want to use tubeless.

EX729 is pretty much same price – too heavy though? EX325 only a few quid cheaper.

Too heavy – unless you’re a heffer you won’t need the weight or the width or the discness

Also, do I want DB spokes?

Yes no reason not to other than a slight increase in cost – they’re better in every other way

And will an XT rear hub be adequate?

    Probably

It’s ok but it’s just 2 middle aged guys talking in comparison to M&L of old.

Still they both love music and most of what they play is good.

http://www.biggedybong.com has some and I’m sure they will know of more if it’s available.

I do miss M&L – Radcliffe&Macony’s just not the same.
