I’ve only ever really used ERSA stations and found them to be extremely reliable workhorses. Digital 80 would’ve been the model I used, also had the Analogue 60 and 80 models too and to be fair worked just as well. Digital display was nicer though of course.

looks like the digital 80 has been renamed digital 2000 now.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Once the sealant has had chance to coagulate it should be fine.
I’ve not used an anchovy exactly but
here is a pic of a trail bodge I needed to do.

A knotted rubber band poked through with an Allen key.

the pic was taken back in mid May. The band is still there today. Bike in constant use.

Obviously your work has access to the work phone account. They can forward unanswered calls to whatever number they like.

edit: unless of course you mean self employed work phone set up by yourself…

I find it strange why people tend to get upset about this type of vehicle, yet seem to refrain from expressing their distaste for the multitude of vans using the exact same engines, same emissions figures running up and down the country 24/7

I find that Clearoutside the best of the bunch certainly now Darkskies has gone.
goes it more detail than most.
I discovered it when I dabbled in star trail photography.

Ransomes Ajax. Always a few on eBay.

These old push roller mowers are excellent although only really suited to frequently mown lawns due to their short cutting heights

Look for something with a drop stitch floor, makes for a much more rigid craft. Single tube designs dry off quicker and can be packed away  sooner.

I’m pleased with my Aquaglide Chelan.

    Rich Fulcher cracks me up.
I loved the Snuff Box series which I think went under the radar when it was released.

This art gallery scene always makes me titter.

Barzo is classified as an XC tyre. It sounds like you might prefer something like the Agarro or Mazza from the Trail/Enduro range…

Yes it sounds like something you probably don’t want to smell like but the clumsily named Bvlgari Man wood essence, would fit the bill.
It is a mature, masculine scent but still fresh and airy. I find it nicely hangs around all day yet never overpowering.

    I like man wood.

I started out with a Sevylor – standard lilo floor type thing with bladder side walls . I now have an Aquaglide Chelan – drop stitch floor, tough, single tube side walls.

Yeah the AG is 3 times the price but a much more enjoyable experience. Easier to pack away no need to dry out as much too. Still fairly heavy to hulk around though.

    @DaveyBoyWonder,
    yes,Stooge – a Speedball. Great bikes!

I’d always ran it with the truss fork but I had the bi-plane fork too and thought it about time I tried it with that.
Feels a little more spritely but that could be more to do with the lighter faster rolling tyres added at the same time.

It was certainly a thing today, in fact any day. I only have an SS.
I love the simplicity and the quietness of a rigid SS – just the hum of the tyres…

Scurrying down a lightly rutted chute taking extra care in picking the right line can even make the ride home from work fun.

Are your crown race and/or compression ring the same angle as the bearings? They do vary 45° 36° etc so if they don’t tessellate they may wear in over time.
Failing that it must be to do with the preload. It’s not simply bottoming out is it? How much does the stem (or spacer) sit proud of the steerer ?

Can you see if any movement has occurred at the fork crown / steerer interface?

We ran the Maxxis 980E worm drive’s on our old Type2 T3 camper – didn’t notice much difference in noise or MPG in comparison to standard road tyres.

Yes, a sort of settle I suppose.
I think a settle usually refers to the high backed or “monks bench” of UK / Irish origin.

I use an old Hungarian style storage bench in the hall.
At +2m long you can get a fair few pairs of shoes in it. It also provides a handy perch to sit on whilst putting the shoes on.

I found this guy’s analysis quite interesting. Some points made I’ve not heard before.

But for the sensible among us it’s just psuedo-science clap trap.

He doesn’t even get the flu season right ffs!
Propagating this sort of shit increases the death count; has someone got a graph for that?

    I’ll put in a recommendation for Slam69 https://slam69.co.uk/
Had a wheel built to be smashed about on a rigid 29er – rock solid.
Very pleased with the customer service and build quality.

It goes back to civilisation. From the day the pyramids, Great Wall of China, the Inca pyramids were built. Put it this way Great Wall of China was not built by patriotic volunteered labour.

Yeah, I know. I’ve been to Kelvingrove Museum numerous times, it’s not hidden. But the appropriation of wealth to the detriment of others isn’t really something that’s ever ended, it’s not just history.

The monuments inc. wonders of the world can be viewed as commemoration of the oppressed; statues such as Colston are nothing more than celebration of the oppressor.

But what does STW think of phone based apps for ‘contact tracing’?

My initial and unclouded thought would be ‘obviously an excellent use of the available technology’.

But then two words spring to mind:

    Cambridge Analytica

    Then another three words:

    “No **** way”.

I’ll install it on a burner.

    WWSTWD.
As a family of 4 ( child aged 8 and a baby 5months) we are on observing social distancing guidelines. I have approached my boss/the owner a couple of times regarding WFH – I work on the phone and email so no real reason why I can’t, it’s a very small company- five employees.

He obviously isn’t keen on the idea and suggests we just spread out a bit. However, I am concerned about his attitude towards the virus, is he’s always playing down the seriousness of it, a lot of whataboutery on FB -it only affects the oldies etc.

He is currently complaining of a temp and tiredness but claims this is purely down to his infected bawbag following a vasectomy. A co-worker has been given time off due to a tight chest – which is also “unrelated” to C19.

Currently weighing up whether to straight up say I’m not coming in whether you like it or not – not pay me, whatever or hold it out ‘til the likely coming lock-down.

    So yeah WWSTWD ?

I almost mentioned Orange by name in my first post. There is almost nothing uglier than an boxy framed Orange with fully colour coded Hope build kit.

I only say ‘almost’ because of recent developments in non telescopic forks etc.. It’s getting crazy out there!

    Grab a bucket… here’s my old TicTac Four !

My fave Hope colour is the old Gunsmoke like I have on on my Speedball. I won’t post a pic, its non squishy front end might send you over the edge.

their top professional XR range holds up along with the other big brand professional kit and in the case of their 18v combi drill, is far more capable than them all.

Yep. I use Dewalt 996/796 combis
It’s a top quality tool all metal gearbox etc
The 796 with a little 2ah pack will see you through most DIY tasks , it’s compact and well weighted/balanced with plenty of grunt. useful belt hook and bit holder with a helpful LED light too.

Grab to 2 batt pack if you can stretch your budget.

Yes it does. No not strictly a Pro – no weather sealing but I guess due the short throw needed on the focus mech on a lens of this type the focusing speed comes within a similar spec as the Pro lenses and as such quick/accurate enough to work with in cam stacking.

Haha yes they ain’t cheap but seriously lovely bits of kit.

Have you got one of the 2.8 macro’s ? These aren’t a bad price and that’ll unlock the focus stacking feature should you opt for the higher spec body.

    spectabilis

Maybe invest in some more lenses rather than another body ?
The Pro lenses really bring the best out of these little cameras. If you really get into it invest in a EM1X or EM1mk3 down the line?
(I’m currently coveting the EM1mk3 for its liveND mode)

LiveComp is a great feature and I love star trails too, try experimenting with adding light painting to bring out details in the foreground of your LC shots- hardest bit is getting the right location at the right time / weather.

M5mk2 and M1mk2 here. I’ve not really looked at the M5mk3 but it appears to be fairly close in spec. The M1mk2 has better in camera stacking which is customisable. It’s faster too, it’ll shoot 18fps with AF tracking in RAW and 60 yes 60fps fixed focus RAW.
There’ll no doubt be little advantages throughout but those are what spring to mind.

Personally I find the shape of the M1’s better with the grip it’s a joy to hold, it certainly feels more balanced with the longer lenses (40-150 Pro etc)

Note: Focus stacking will require the use of specific lenses on either body – basically the f2.8 pro and macro ranges, which by the way are absolutely superb optics.
