Could he have found a saddle any more at odds with the rest of the bike?

reckon a brooks would of finished it off a treat…

Yes breaking it I think is the best bet too … Which is the opposite of the owners intention as it was only built to sell.
Good point about the frames intended demographic too….

I recently got one of these…
    Kampa Woolacombe 4[/url]

Plenty of room and quite versatile removable partitions plus a built in porch/vestibule.

if there is any rust it will be converted into metal
    How is this scientifically possible?

    Don’t ask me I don’t make it…..
But to be a little more accurate call it a metallo-organic compound or some shit…
Whatever it works and even if not converting rust still acts as an excellent protective coat. :-)

I use an M4 up front and find an X2 perfect for the rear.
Has anyone mentioned shimano also make brakes but are cheaper yet? …

Use a chemical rust converter such as Vactan or Kurust if there is any rust it will be converted into metal if the metal is fine a protective coat will still remain.
    Takes about 15mins to dry.
Waxoyle I’d imagine would be rather thick and also easily scraped off at contact points…..

I’m very happy with the MK2 Piglet I recently built up.
Found it to handle as well as if not better than the C456 it replaced yet definitely more comfortable.
The finish on the current Ragley frames is nicer than previous ones too and with ISCG05, 44mm headtube and excellent mud clearance make a very versatile frame and at 300 notes good value too in comparison to others mentioned.
I’ve not bothered to weigh the bike or the frame when building but I can weigh one tomorrow if your interested.

The Ragley frames have a similar chainstay to the Sov, but I don’t know for sure if one fits…can do measurements though.

I offer this at my shop already for the same reason orangeboy mentioned.
I’ll do custom builds with new or s/hand parts no matter where they are sourced.

I generally go M4 front X2 rear awesome brakes! Power, reliability, adjustments, service all excellent .
From experence I wouldn’t buy anything else .
As said, set them up as per Hope instruction on website (which is really the only way you should set up your brakes regardless of brand)Rather than the Shimano fans “squeeze lever nip up bolts” way.

I had a Hornet, Clodbuster and another Tamiya not sure which maybe Boomerang? Before getting a bit more serious and racing with a Schumacher CAT at the local club, they were in a different league…
Also had a Mardave Meteor somewhere along the line.

`01 i-drive . Nasty creaky turd of a frame was convinced that crappy seat tube mount was gonna break..
Wanted rid so bad took a dodgy loan being unemployed at the time , to get a Patriot, which actually another bad move, it wasn’t a bad bike infact the opposite was just the wrong bike.

Factory bleeds are hit n miss . Seen plenty with the “one pull ok next straight to the bar” symptoms.
‘re-bled a set of Elixir 1’s on a mates bike recently and they seem fine. He’s happy with the feel of them, can’t stand the things myself…I don’t get on with any other than Hope’s .

Based on the frame designs Definitely the Five. I like Oranges style, like they mean business!
The Giant is hideous that swoopy downtube just looks w*nk. The Gyro being a 29 just looks like a five with a deformity.
saying that, as complete bikes and as depicted by the photos the Gyro does look the nicer bike… Strangely…

When me and brother were young our parents had a pond we loved it, always playing down there got filled in ‘cos it was always leaking I really missed it.

When I bought my house a few years back first thing I did was build a pond.
I have a 1year old daughter now and can’t wait till she can appreciate it and all the wildlife it brings to the garden…she’s just starting to point out the fish now :D which are becoming more active as it gets warmer.

Struggling to see how it’s “the best” if it’s limited with a crap UI.

I said the UI was not pretty didn’t I? And also stated that it works flawlessly. Where did you get “crap” from? Or does everything have to have nice little pictures on for you to use it?

It’s only limited as in the amount of tracks you can run in a playlist and only. in the free version. The couple of quid for the paid version is worth it as this App outperforms any of the others available.

BubbleUPNP is the best DLNA controller you will find for Android. It doesn’t have a pretty UI but works flawlessly. The free version does limit the amount of tracks in a playlist though.

I use a WD live NAS and a WD TV live as the renderer for my HiFi my phone acts as a controller (or renderer if required) whilst on my home network.
The WD NAS also makes files available from a mobile network… 4TB of FLAC available anywhere ;-)

Orange do divide opinion don’t they
It’s not much of a secret: Bike Radar
It was also on one of the dealer stands at the London bike show and Orange have been showing it on their stands at trade shows forever.
As with any bike if you like it buy one if you don’t, don’t.
Personally I think there is a lot to admire about a company that is British, employs people in the UK and builds some of their bikes here. They also support racing and the general scene in the UK.
Many of the other British brands are even more paper thin (one designer and a warehouse). They also support their dealer network which is why their prices can appear high. If they sold direct they could easily drop significantly.

I admire the Orange brand for all these reasons although it is a bit of a shame these RX’s don’t get to see the Orange factory at all…..

Why drill (with the risk of gouging the tube) why not hacksaw off the closed end?

Why hacksaw off the closed end (with the risk of cutting the tube or leaving an untidy finish) why not simply drill them out carefully?…
