With those type of soft alu bolts I usually have great success with the easy option of just grabbing by cutting into the side of the head with a nice sharp/strong pair of side cutters.

Hope’s hs136 crown race converter lets you run a 1-1/8th fork in any tapered headset/headtube.

You can still get forks with a 1 1/8th if you look
    26″ 2014 model year?
    2 mins searching

You can google for two minutes and find a suspension fork no problem, look at an on line retailers entire range of forks and see how few are 26″ straight steerer, and the choice Is only getting smaller.
    what Chip said .
the replies from the 26″ club seem a bit desperate or maybe muffled, maybe the heads are buried in the sand?

Desperate? why would it matter to me?

I’ve been on lucozade as it tasted nice but it makes me feel sick.

I’m thinking I should just switch to water.

Mix it with water . thats what I did, the fizz of the Lucozade made me want to chuck but mixing it with water I got some of the benefits without the fizz…

apparently you shouldn’t drink lucozade when you have D+V things, not entirely sure why, but it says it on the bottle!!

I saw that but I put it down to them not wanting to be assosciated as a sickness remedy and more as part of an active healthy lifestyle….

My car has a light in the instrument panel which flashes when my indicators are activated ! OK at least its only one light rather than one for each direction (I hear some cars have independant ones??)but I know i’m indicating I just moved the effing stick and can hear the relay!

My girlfriends car deems it necessary to constantly inform you its cold outside with constant beeping!! “We know we’ve just been there you dick” .

Although mine tends to do the same but by handily keeping the temperature constantly the same inside as it is outside . This is very useful as negates the need to take a coat off on entry and back on,on exit.

    OK, looks like 30mm centres.
It’s also 6mm deep. I think that’s slightly deeper than the magura clamp but I’m the barrel nut is sufficiently long enough to secure it.

Yes give Hope a call and get the measurement for the centres, if I go out yo the cave I’ll measure a set for you. they wouldn’t be far off if at all.

The Magura’s have a captive thread and nut fixing don’t they?
I’d say with a bit of luck and drilling out the holes in the matchmaker you’d have a good chance of them lining up….

I wouldn’t want to walk more than a mile carrying one of my kids in a heavy uncomfortable rucksack carrier.

    Won’t your fella help?

Seriously they’re neither heavy or uncomfortable if setup correctly. My Osprey really makes for easy going, hands free over stiles, walls up and down steps carrying a beer , controlling the dog etc

I’m using tubes…..in my ghetto dual chamber setup.

Try as many out as you can . The fit and support vary greatly. I didn’t want to spend much initially but after trying a few of the cheaper options I went for an Osprey Poco totally different league ,found it perfectly easy to get on solo and loaded up the grab handles and straps are well placed etc, some of the other models just seemed floppy and awkward.
The Poco is an awesome bit of kit very comfy for both parties.

An extremely well made and durable bit of kit so you should be able to find some nice examples in the second hand market if your open to that.

The cups are generally all down to the bearings really…
Can’t go wrong with a Hope one, also the New Nukeproof ones I’ve dealt with recently have been very good.

Give a Piglet a go . Put the money saved from not going the cotic route towards some components.

So is the BluePig more suited to downs and the piglet all rounder? Quite similar specs on geometry?

Possbly yeah, depending on build really, but both climb rather well considering how well they go down.
The 2nd gen Piglet is very similar to the Pig , the Piglet topping out at 130 /150mm forks depending on headset etc the Pig can go 160.

he Soul’s a much higher quality product- better finish, and more expensive steel which is what really defines their ride.

    Some may not say much…..

    4130 n I’m ok for hours.

I’m guessing the Marley is just the Alu version of the BluePig, as they seem very similar.

    Alu version of Piglet.

The Ragley’s have some nice features absent from the cotic frames and it isnt clear why the cotics cost more? They likely come off the same production line 😉

There’s more love for the cotic brand on here but that accounts for nothing.

    I really enjoy my 150mm 1×9 Piglet.

When I bought my “live” the other option was “live hub” hub refers to the fact it has a built in HDD.
I partnered mine with a WD mybook live NAS which is accessible from a mobile network….which is nice..

Check out bubble on your android. It will display all media shared on your network from whatever device .
You will see all your sources can select between them and also select your playback device and even switch between them mid-stream.

The WD has it’s own remote and there are atleast two android based remotes available which perform very well and nice as no.need to have a tv screen on for playing music.
It will accept streams from your laptop via Windows share, or any upnp media server like tversity, bubble etc.

Id check the WD site for all supported internet services as I don’t use those tbh.

Yes there is a USB which will do what you want. But transfer rates can be slow if you wish to copy accross files.

IMO the WD UI isnt bad at all maybe a little clunky at times but way way better than the PS3 for sure.

Besides I use an app on my phone as a remote. Add BubbleUPNP to the mix and you have an excellent system for playing lossless audio n HD Video stored either locally or on a network plus internet content all controlled by your Smartphone or tablet.

PS3 is pretty poor as a media client.
Unfortunately you’re a bit late with that advice

Why? it’s quite handy for playing games so not a bad purchase.

My point was a WDTV live costs about 50 quid rather than chucking money at the PS3 in an attempt to make it better at secondary function it might be better spent on a device which does it much better fairly cheaply……..

IMO your money is better spent on a WD TV live or similar device rather than aadditional controllers to try and make the PS3 more user friendly. PS3 is pretty poor as a media client.

    QUAD 11L’s through Cyrus 8 .

I’ve a small room so this setup suits well.
Spacious sounding, delicate and intricate yet has the guts to more than loud enough if you like. Bass is very well controlled and never boomy despite them being relatively close to a back wall.

The finish of the Quads is very nice too.

I run a Piglet on 150’s with an external cup , out of ragley’s recommendations but no issues. dependent on A to C what’s 10mm eh ?
Mines an 18 but feel a bit stretched on it at Times think about swapping it for a 16 , I’m 5’11” . A 20″ will def be a BIG bike.

Very interesting. Not into that seat clamp thing though really think a normal clamp at the top of the tube would be better, both for security and I’d expect for water ingress due to the top not being sealed tight.
That’s about it really it’s all down to how it rides, it’s a prototype so can’t comment on finish etc

Good luck to you hope to see a few out there soon!

Btw. I don’t care how nice or not your website is , it does the job.
    Swearing? …. I don’t give one.
Attitude? ….apparently you walked in with your fly undone and upset the ladies…no bother.

Yeah so fair play. Good luck.

Definitely a classic but what could you do with it?

Nice to look at but I prefer stuff I can use.

What is stopping it being used?

+1 for the Piglet. It’s makes a great bike suitable for all types of riding. The frame also has some nice features which put some similar yet more expensive offerings to shame.
The colours aren’t for everyone but IMO the colour is a lot better in the flesh, they have a sort of metalic look not easily picked out in photos ….

    Here’s my horrendous creation…
