You won’t regret it DT’s are brilliant forks both performance and build quality is top notch.
You may take a while with the setup to get your sweet spot but once dialled in your golden..
    I doubt you’ll bolt a Fox in again after….

    I ran EXM 150’s btw.

    Extremely dangerous thing to do!
After prolonged trail shredding you may find a pressure build up in the steerer assy causes the stem top cap to burst and thus blasting you whole damn face off!!!!

Note: only applies to 650b ers

I’ve decided to plum for a Stooge… If I don’t get on with it I’ll shift it for a Swift.

My first post was hastily bashed out and didn’t cover my main concern.
I’ve gone off mtb a bit I’m thinking bollocks to all the technological advances and want to get back to basics…
This build I want to be able use for general local riding mainly farm tracks bridleways woodland local village pub rides that sort of stuff.
Now the Swift I know will be bang on for that but I guess I also am worried about it being too XC and getting bored I like to get my wheels off the ground, manuals drops etc. So I see this stooge thing.

Love it, read the premise on the site and I’m like yep that’s what I need! But I’m worried this thing whilst being all the fun I need might be a bit of a pig for XC stuff… Also the weight it’s a bit heavier than the Swift isn’t it..

Re: colours the colours are nice I do like them but I sort of made my mind up on this classic looking bike in a nice bland boring pastel shade.

Was toying with either a Stanton Sherpa or Switchback….. But now I have an urge to go back to basics and build a rigid SS like a Singular Swift. Or maybe something that doesn’t begin with “S”

got a bit sick of all the industry techno bs so going to keep it simple.

I used it to coat a fish tank I made out of steel. Wasn’t the easiest application of a product but did the job. I have no concerns over its longevity.

We had the BT 250 had good reviews which I would agree with.. Has a great sound to it and the light show function thing with temperature indicator is a nice touch.

Happy to sell it now boxed in perfect condition.
Send me an email if your interested.

Freehub is part HUB526 inc QR end caps

    HUB526:12 with 12mm
    HUB526:X12 with X12

Yes there is.. Not sure on the part code but I know there is an option on the dealer system for wheel builds.

You will also need to change the axle end caps for an XD specific version.. although if you have a file an 20mins you can make a regular 10/12mm fit.

Hope Cup E or G are internal cups that will take a tapered steerer in a 44mm HT .

no they won’t. It’s not possible to fit a tapered steerer internally on a 44mm head tube. Do so you would need bearings and a headset cup with combined thickness of <3mm as 1.5″ is 38.1mm.

Has to be an external lower cup.

YES 😳 Don’t what I was thinking there ! I was even sat looking at the damn chart as I typed lol ….

Got two custom builds here I’m working on was sure the one with internal was a tapered steerer but obviously not as you stated impossible!

No . If I had to find a negative it’d be that the pad clearance is a little narrower than previous models so set up can be a little fiddlier, but that is it !

Went to look at one in a shop, realised how absurdly big all these new phones are, had a little laugh and went home.
I’ll probably end up getting a Z1 compact or *shudder* an iPhone

Yep that was me too stupidly massive and the HTC answer very nearly tablet sized.
I got the Z1 Compact can’t fault it really. Still has a poncey glass back which I scratched on day one but it’s wrapped in a nasty cheap case now so all good. Liking the waterproofness of it too (underwater photos are shit but video is good)

Split rear window? Cool would have been 53 or earlier.

I bought a Kampa Woolacombe 4 last year and it’s brilliant really well made ,compares well to Outwell but better value. I was originally put off by the cheap sounding brand name but i’m really pleased with it .

take a look at the Oxwich 6 for £250

Is DBC Pierre actually comedy or tragedy (black comedy), going by the synopsis?

I found parts of these books proper LOL black comedy for sure but real captivating tales, I don’t have much time for books generaly but it was hard to put either of these two down!

    Really.

i’ve learned, from many expensive, time consuming mistakes, to use the right tool for the job.

i have been able to knock a bearing out with a screwdriver, but usually with some ‘collateral damage’.

it’s become wiles workshop policy not to start a job without the right tools – otherwise the sense of momentum leads to me attempting bodges.

so what’s the right tool? – and where do i get one?

Well i’d have thought that most home mechanics would be aware of the concept of a drift …

even the video from Hope on how to rebuild a pro2 rear is next to useless.

“to remove these (bearings) just gently* knock them out”

(with no explanation how, or with what)

    great, very helpfull.

    (*yeah, right)

Yeah I was stuck for hours trying to knock them out with an undernourished penguin!
    Really?
Seriously I think a little common sense is expected…..
