If you fancy a decent steak The Lazy Cow will see you right. Carry on across the bridge if you fancy Thai at the boathouse. Up the other end of town you can find The One Elm which I remember being fairly good last time I ate there, although usually if I’m out I’m just on the razz.

    Xfusion strate 150?

Set up one recently seemed good quality, cable op but then that can be seen as more reliable. Definitely easier to bodge if you have a mishap out on the trail.

The Mrs has just bought something new to replace her 13plate Base model 1.5d qashqai.
Looks like cack, gutless not great on fuel, looks big from outside but hardly any bigger than a standard hatch inside and fairly uncomfortable to be in too. I can genuinely not think of anything positive to say about it. A pointless vehicle IMO

Looks like they are pushing new hubs rather than adapting current ones.

I’m having trouble visualising what the issue is… it’s a qr cap right? Surely you can just drive it out from the opposite side? as said above all axles are the same and hollow tubes, apart from the 10mm bolt in.
    Got a pic?

As mentioned above you can modify the standard 12×142 cap to fit but there is a specific driveside one for Xd driver setups it’s HUB471 http://b2b.hopetech.com/page.aspx?itemID=SPG282

How much are you looking for ?

I’m not sure tbh I just remembered it’s sat in the box doing nothing so could let it go but it’d probably get put on something down the line if not.

I’ll get some pics on if I remember I’d say it’s probably still worth near a 1er.

I’ve got a red pro 2 Evo / Stans Arch. never been fitted to a bike but the rim is a little chewed up by the mechanics trying to force a tyre onto it at a certain Scottish bike shop. Wheel wasn’t set up Tubeless at the time and so not tested but the damage certainly looks purely cosmetic.
PM with an offer if interested.

Do you have a Stooge? and Is it snug with the bolts loosened?

Yes I do, and yes when I said snug fit I meant as in a tight tolerance between insert and aperture….

Ebb is a very snug fit no noticeable play in mine, the grub screws have left marks though but all in all its been bang on not even a hint of a creak. Set up SS too btw

@ spectibilis love the look and detail on the Sherpa, can it run a 120mm fork?

Pretty sure it can take anything from 80-120….. Nothing on the blurb to that effect but pretty sure that’s the word, drop a mail to Dan to make sure

For me, performance wise,it’d be wheels, BB and the nasty Shimano brakes.

there’s nothing wrong with the bars n stem but I’d probably switch them for something a little nicer.

    Hope everytime for me.
As been said ^ build quality, spares, looks but the big reason is the control you get that ABS feel and keep the wheels just on the edge of skidding even on steep wet leaf mulch slopes etc

Yep run Tech 3 E4’s myself and look after a couple of bikes with them also.
Most of the reasons why they are the best brake on the market have been covered and I’ve a feeling you already know.

Reliability wise they’ve all been faultless.
As with previous models bleeding them is a breeze and just really nice to work being superb quality throughout.

If I had to find a negative about them I’d say they are a little trickier to set up than Shimano’s balancing pistons etc as the pads run close to the disc closer than the previous M4s but not quite as bad as formulas.

I’ve used Hopes own, superstar and Aztec pads so I believe this is actually an attribute of the caliper rather than the pads.

Yep, a mate of mine handed some of this at coed y brenin, curiosity got the better of me and I consumed it.

About an hour later the surrounding foliage was getting some extra fertiliser!

First and last time for me.

Edit: for the energy rubbish that is, likely not the country crap

For those that are moaning/wanting a ‘proper’ car show on BBC. There is one, it’s on BBC Alba. I hope you enjoy it*
(*hopefully once watched you’ll realise why Top Gear moved away from this format)

Moving away from the original premis is fine.
A car show with an injection of comedy yes great idea (the comedy isn’t that great but give them a break it’s a car show really )
Now it’s slowly turned into an automotive themed comedy show, again no problem with that but in this case it does actually have to be funny which it isn’t really.

Guy in India was actually quite good and I’m not a fanboi (Harrythespider being at one end and me sort of midway the other).

Yes enjoyed Guys programme too, it took the edge off TG

Wow that really was a low point!
It’s been shite for ages but was always a breath of fresh air after the usual cack the Mrs has on but last night’s really smelt bad!

Rest of the series is on record I’ll watch it if not doing anything else which tbf Sunday nights probably won’t be, good time for it to be on I guess.

    Here’s my simple little solution.

That little black box is a WDTV live only costs 50quid connects to your network via Wifi or Wired compatible with plenty of formats Flac being the reason I chose it. It has both analogue and digital outputs.
Connect it to an amp of your choice.
My Amp is a Cyrus 8dac (not so cheap) it has an onboard DAC so I can bypass the WD ‘s DAC and therefore sound quality not effected by the cheap device.

The OS of the WD unit is a bit clunky if using the remote tbf but it’s better with its smartphone app and near enough faultless using the BubbleUPNP app.

Basically pick any Amp you like, old or new and give it network capability for 50quid If spending a fair bit consider a DAC either built in or external as the one in the WD is likely to be the weak link.

On another note I’m not sure if these new breed micro jobbies would have a phono stage for your possible record deck.

Get thee to Toolstation for your sprays and lubes.

    Nice tip

Asda’s own brand penetrating oil, “Multi-spray” is a great cheap alternative to GT85/WD40

Or stop the guy in the Autosmart van(shop on wheels)
For Brake cleaner, oils ,lubes etc Their G101 is an excellent non-caustic degreaser .

I’ll be giving it a go and building a B+ for the back of my Stooge pretty soon I reckon.
