Devolder, what a guy. Think Carlton Kirby was genuinely a bit wibbley there.

Usual carnage out there. Yes quite normal. It may get safer as the bunch thins and string out but probably not. Unfortunately its one of the things that make it such an exciting race.

My leftfield prediction is the polish quikstep guy.
cant recall his name right now.

    Stybar? He’s Czech.

Looking forward to this. Hope its raining so i’ve got an excuse to stay in.

I think Cancellara will have the edge over Sagan again this year. Degenkolb is also on good form with a strong team. Be interesting to see how Boasson Hagen does this year and Wiggo is supposed to be riding.

Excellent solo by Prince but where does his guitar end up?

I wouldn’t trust a damn thing Clarkson says in relation to cyclists. The cyclist doesn’t look to be doing anything wrong in that photo. Clarkson is using his phone.

I’m going to try Cragg Vale. It’s a long enough climb so there should be some room. Probably bike over unless lots of none cyclists decide to come with me. If so we’ll park as close as possible and then walk. Be nice to see the rest in a boozer, maybe the Robin Hood or the Hinchcliff. Presumably these two places will have it on.

I am very excited. I may also do a naked run and would definately be up for a mass streak.:)
(TBF a solo streak up Cragg Vale would not be dissimilar to just standing naked in the croud with the speed they will be going)

So now people are warning each other through social media about RM terms and conditions while they keep quietly sending people’s belongings to auction. Nice. Merry Christmas everyone.

Well done KOB. You’ve done a great service for the family. Also meehaja and the emergency services goes without saying.

CountZero has given you some good advise. Unless you are sure they’re fairly modern pieces of furniture I wouldn’t consider doing anything other than waxing. If you really feel the need for the hinges and handles to be black use black grate polish carefully. They will look fine with waxed. Hard to tell the age from the pictures. Stuff like this has been reproduced endlessly. The smaller cabinet has some nice medullery rays. But the carvings in the table look a bit clean for any real age unless its been excessively cleaned.

Like the look of the mirror.

That old guys probably been riding all his life without a helmet with no problems. Bandana though. Unforgivable.

No, but out of interest what type of mech is it? I’ve broken plenty of mechs mainly the cage. Can’t say i’ve ever snapped the top of one. The mech hanger would go before that.

    Picture?

So has he only just opened the letter or has he had another letter? How does he know about it? If it’s been to court without him being present he may has been issued with a fine which will not have been payed. SO he may find there is a warrant out for his arrest. Possibly.

So should a pedestrian be wearing a front and rear light on the same road?

I think they went the same way as guitar solos. Don’t mind either but stuff like moby dick are a bit too far for me.

I’ve owned this for about 30 years now and it was raced loads back in the day. I bought the frame second hand from a fella called Stan McBride who bought MKM in the early 80’s and continued to build for a few years. But Bill Whitcomb claimed it was one of his. Doesn’t get used very often now except on rollers hence the out of place computer. I’ve also got some mavic GP4’s on Campag. record hubs from the same era which were my race wheels.

Markie do you know the history of your frame? There’s quite a bit of info out there about them

I came over from road about 7 years ago mainly because every time I went out I’d come back in a bad mood. The last road ride I had I had to jump off my bike and pull it onto a grass verge to get out of the way of a bloke in a 4×4 who was trundling towards me on a single track road. He actually looked me in the eye as he went past about 12 inches from my face. No aggresion, just a slightly distant look in his eyes.

Can’t believe I didn’t mountain bike earlier though. Can’t see me going back now.

Yes. About 50:50 for me. I do enjoy it but sometimes can’t be bothered with all the wiring.

What the op is talking about is health anxiety.

Checking yourself and visits to the doctors will do no good and only serve to reasure you short term.

A friend of mine had Cognitive behavioural therapy which helped a lot.

Good luck. Maybe some work ahead.

Your photo captures the new pavilion building too. A Great place to drink beer whilst watching others run around like madmen

This is from the canal today. The new pavillion is great. I’ll definitely try it next summer.

Halifax courier reporting 3 people arrested on Tueday with air rifles after shooting at buildings. I’m no Columbo but that is quite a coincidence. I would have though the police would have spoken to me to see if there was a link but I have heard nothing.

    speckledbob

John Ellison that is interesting. Clearly a few offenses committed here then. I was asked over the phone whether they had cases for the rifles.

    speckledbob

Well the NPT (not NCP like I put earlier) e-mailed back saying someone else had reported seeing youths with rifles in the area about the same time and a search was done but nobody was found.

Yes, that whole section from Norland is a good long decent. A good 5 mins plus of decending. Not sure how it will be at the bottom of wireworks once that estate gets built. It will probably end up a doggy toilet.

Anyway just e-mailed the NCP as suggested bu deluded. See what happens.

DBW I believe I may have heard it from you so it’s maybe just me and you who call it that. Either way its a good decent. I left part of my left ear on that path. Have you tried the other side?

Steel4real and nigew, baby head alley runs from the edge of Norland Moor down the left side of Norland Clough into Packwood Scar. It used to be far more loose than these days. You probably know it. The right hand side of the Clough is also rideable but not for me. It’s fairly technical and also a footpath.

One thing i will say is these guns looked brand new. I hope it’s not the start of something regular for these lads. If they have taken a shot at me I doubt they hesitate with a dog.

Deluded, yes that’s the station. Thanks for the link. I’ll wait and see if anyone gets back to me tonight. If not I’ll e-mail in the morning.

To be honest I did consider going back and confronting them but thought it would be a stupid thing to do.

**** taking pop-shots with weapons need levelling. How did the operator respond exactly? Did you get a crime number, etc?

No. It was all pretty shoddy.
