She will have forgoten about it in a couple of weeks. Very distressing for parents and child when this kind of thing happens.

No real harm done. Chin up.

I have a transvestite robot alter ego called Slagbot. She/he/it’s the official unofficial celebrity transvestite robot groupie for Evil Scarecrow. No, not quite sure how I have ended up doing this but it’s a laugh.

Then maybe I could suggest Judy Garland for you. How does that sound?

    Well done and congratulations.

Jeronimo is always a good one.

    Some good ones there.

Miss Piggy and Chaka khan are good. Bobby g81 is that Sandy Shaw.

Some friends of mine chose Bette Middler and Grace Jones. One things for sure they knew when it was right.

The missis makes me a honey and lemon drink. Not the powder ,the proper stuff. Something about antisepticness or something she says.

I’m after a compact to have in my rucsac while riding an dthis may be what I want, so thanks. Worth further consideration. Thanks.

As a matter of interest how do you think this would compare with a decent bridge camera?

It did seem a bit like that. He’s not getting any younger. Consistently brilliant though. I hope it’s not the end.

I thought that was Andrew Neil.

I think there’s a little bit of Kenny Everett there.

I’ve tried glasses but like others can’t get along with them. They just steam up and get too dirty too fast. I am scared of things sticking in my eyes if I fall off though.

within minutes they are going to be speckled/blobbed

Spelled my name wrong there. 🙂

I’m considering this because of the difficultly in getting my cassette off. The few grams extra is not really an issue is it?

    speckledbob

Yes. Pricey for a good one but with the amount of maintenance you need to do on a mountain bike essential I would say.

Years of manual work have made my skin quite leathery, so no they don’t cut easily. I’ve always got a few cuts on my hands from work but don’t really notice them too much. However my guitar players nails are another matter. I keep them as short as possible and use coconut oil on them.

I think as you get older you get more awkward and stubborn. You won’t change her, just give her a hug and tell her you love her. She will always want to spend more time with you than you do with her. It is frustrating. Like other people here i’ve lost both my parents and miss them dearly.

Monksie you comment give perspective here and are absolutely relevent. Hope you find peace.

I put my stuff straight into a bucket of water for a rinse, then into the washing machine. Its easy enough to do and it keeps the missus happy.

The thing about the Thatcher years is while most of the country was being closed down city bankers seemed to be quite literally rolling in money and flaunting it.

I grew up in Liverpool and was made redundant twice by the time I was 17. I did get on my bike and rode 60 miles to West Yorkshire where I managed to find some work, although things weren’t too much better there. But leaving my family at friend at such a young age then working in mills and factories on very poor wages is not something I would like my kids to have to do . Sad days.

I agree with tony24 about wickes. Cheap units will not last long. Do it once and properly. Straight in and out job, anywhere up to £1500.

The client specificaly asked for a maple core ply for a project I am involved with. I’m simply saying other types of timber board are available but at a cost.

I’ve been working with some maple ply recently. It’s very expensive, I think around £250 a sheet. Imo its a bit bland although I haven’t put a finish on it yet. Birch gives far more dramatic stripes.

Dawson that is clearly the Sydenham slide you are trying to play. Very clever but I won’t be fooled again.

I’ve used bits of plastic milk cartons glued to the inside. Used one repaired this way for a couple of months once.

I use a KS on a hard tail. It’s been back for repair once but can’t say if it’s due to the extra impact. It does get more stick than on an FS and I do wonder whether this could be the reason for the failure.

I had some 5:10 Basics a while ago and managed to fit some old over shoes on. Did a full winter a worked a treat.

Maybe some ankle gaitors. They could work.

Yes, just practice. Firm but relaxed grip. It will sound a bit harsh compared to your thumb but slow down and try to make a good sound. There are lots of techniques and sounds you can make with a plectrum so it’s important to learn to use it. 0.6mm Jim Dunlop for me. Stiff enough for a nice crisp sound. Good to hear your works paying off and most importantly that your enjoying it. Well done.

Their is no need for an amp with this guitar. An electro acoustic guitar has a small micriphone inside, so an amp would help her to play louder if thats what you want. But for sleeping at night I would get her an electric guitar and an amp with a headphone socket. You can get some decent stuff for very little money.

Never hit a cyclist and never had a disagreement with a cyclist in almost 25 years of driving. I’m not saying it’s always the fault of the motorist but it almost always is.
