I have ridden a lot of famous areas but looking for some hidden gems. Rode the lakes and the Peaks a few years ago but as I might only get a days riding up there I would really like to make sure I get the best riding I can done rather then riding around trying to find some epic singletrack.

Rannoch might be a bit far but in a couple of years I would like to ride up that way and finish off the trip by riding into Knoydart.

Anyone heard from them as to when they are going to be back in stock? Ordered some yesterday and but nothing from them to say when they are expecting more

Its OK for a no-brainer action movie but as mentioned above the plot could do with a bit more to it. You can guess the end from about 15mins into the movie

If there is a gathering I’m keen to join in. I ride the a loop around Burrington quite a bit taking on the two down hills, high point and Tynings farm but keen to see what else I might be missing. I met with a chap a few months ago and showed me some new stuff and I did likewise.

Hopefully if there is a gathering I can make it this time as last time I was away.

I ride the Mendips a bit but tend to do the same loop and don’t recognise anything on your pics? Guess you tend to ride at the southern end?

What time are the big boys due on track?

I get this on mine and am a slightly heavier rider. Run them at about 115psi. Mine are the uturn versions and often often find after big hits they wind themselves down which is really annoying.

Did an uplift day at Cwm Carn a few few weeks ago and by time I reach the bottom of a run i found they had wound themselves right down to minimum travel which was annoying and made the bottom section very sketchy!

I reset the pressures every month or so and never really find they have lost most pressure. When I called TF Tuned a couple of weeks back they suggested the helix might be damaged in the left leg but this would be about £200 to fix and as my LBS replaced all the seals are serviced them two months ago I am reluctant to do this.

Its not her hen night its her best mates so can’t really not go. I thought about the DND thing which would work but I am sure they will say she can have a few then just stop early.

Don’t want to tell friends and family yet as risk of stuff going wrong is the first three months is high so would rather just be sure.

As for being ashamed, hell no! I now know everything works down there and I might be the father of the next Gee Atherton or Victoria Pendleton!

I find the new bit along the quarry fine but the new red section has some real tight twists and turns! Rode it a few times over the last week and never quite nailed it all in one.

Still practice makes perfect!

For anyone travelling for a little further affield parking is free around Clifton so you can get the bike out easily enough then head over the bridge.

You can also be ‘Under biked’ an example of this would be my mate riding the Cwm Carn DH on a 1997 Specialized Rockhopper.

I think the rule with both is that you can do the ride on chosen ‘steed’ but you would be a lot faster on something else

Went out early to try and avoid the worst of the heat but didn’t really help as a I stayed out most of the day.

Absolutely fantastic ride around Ashton Court/50 Acre. New trails are started in bed in nicely just a pity it was so busy! Guessing everyone had the same idea we did.

Cracked the chainstay on my old Enduro although it has now been recognised as a design flaw as the warranty replacement from Spesh was a different design

Think they need to start racing soon, people have paid to sit there in the rain and a GP race in rain is an amazing spectacle

Went down there yesterday and really enjoyed it. Would have liked to see more mountain bikes but mountain bikes don’t represent the majority of customs anyway.

Hopefully it runs for a a while and starts to attract some names from further afield. I know its a UK thing but would have been nice to see some of the US builders

I ride one set of tyres until they die. So they are used in all the condition Bristol has to offer.

Was hoping the keep the mountain kings for a bit longer but just booked an uplift day at Cwm Carn next month and will need some fresh rubber for then!

I run 150mm on mine, tried 160mm earlier this year and they felt fine.

Seen plenty around with 160mm forks on them, as mentioned about if you can fit a low stack headset you make life little easier on the climbs and put less stress the head tube

I drove one on a track day and absolutely loved it.

It was more fun than most of the cars there which included Elise, M3, Clio 202.

Loads of fun in the corners which was an odd feeling as I felt like I was sat quite high up

If its of the smaller ones I might take it off your hands. I have a 990 and the middle to top is pretty worn but the lower ones are like new. So could bodge them together I’m thinking

There are lot of places you are more likely to get mugged but its pretty sh*t that you have to think about this type of thing before hitting the trails. Especially when they such great condition!
