Great price for what is a very high end frame. Use SLX on one of my bikes and I really rate it so wouldnt see that being upgraded until it broke then its just a case of spotting some bargains in the classifieds to get a pimped steed!

Why not do the W2 at Afan? Has the length to fill most of a day riding and there are some great sections. I did the Skiyline a couple of years ago and hated it due to the amount on time spent on fire roads.

Cwmcarn is ok but as others have mentioned there is only one loop. If Yu did really want to do it you could have a crack at the downhill ad you can buy one run at a time

I don’t think there is any consensus over section names as different people I ride give the same trail different names.

Stayed there lots of time and can recommend a few places if you haven’t booked accommodation yet. There is a lot of walking round there but not so much riding as far as I know. Saying that I seem to remember last time that they had planned to build some trails so they may have starting putting something together. The chap that lives next door to the pub rides a Cove Stiffee and may be a good person to ask when you get there on where the best riding is to be found.

The place is full a real local and everyone seems to know everything so my suggestion is get off the ferry go into the pub have a beer and ask the bar man who you should speak to about riding and I am sure you will get enough knowledge to fill more than a few days riding.

I absolutely love the place, you will have a fantastic time even if your get very little riding in. The food in the Old Forge is great and it might worth a night ride over to the restaurant at Doune as the food there is also amazing. Really hoping we can get up there again soon!

I wonder if he will be better off after the budget? They never really covered money made from stolen bikes and it seems to be affecting more and more people!

I have a couple Montane jackets. One very light weight one called a velo I think and another slightly heavier one which I picked u from go outdoors for £50 at xmas. Both pack up into something the size of a an apple and have been faultless

Yeah climbing, actually pleased with my climbing this year. Did some routes I have bailed on in the past but still not quite where I want to be.

For everyone who had a sh*t 2011 things always get better. My 2010 was really lame but I stopped caring about all the things I couldn’t control and concentrated on those that I could and it all came good eventually.

A resole of climbing shoe is about £30, cheap trainers about £25.

Are you not better off buying 5:10 riding shoes which use the C4 Stealth rubber their climbing shoes do and have a sole designed to match pedals?

i think almost all sports have someone in the history who was ahead a the curve in ability. What you tend to see a lot is the best dont get worse its just everyone else catches up and thus the bar is raised. You also see points in history where two people come along at the same time and no one else can get close. If Federer and Nadal had careers at different times they would of both picked up a lot more titles.
