another bristol vote, so close to wales (5 mins for me as im North bristol) or pop down to the quantocks, tons of riding locally if you know where… im not a fan of the centre of bristol but if you like busy cities i guess its good, and lots of local small villages with nice pubs!!

I accept some riders are bad and I could not give a jot, what I hate is when they have a proper mtb and all the kit on for their commute(prob on this forum or another mtb forum) and then ride like total idiots, almost took someone off yesterday outside parkway station (near filton) he did not stop for a roundabout, had the blooody cheek to f and blind at me… swerved 3 times….. never did get him ;)

it cannot work for a number of reasons. when driving I cannot get out and measure 3ft… one persons idea of 3ft is different that anothers.. men especially :)

And if an accident did happen, who can prove that you were under 3ft? no one!

In principal Its a good idea, I just cannot see how it could work in the real world

why do people think it costs loads of cash to do this? you build a bike for say £1500 from parts, you sell it for £1500, then you build another and so on, it only costs loads if your, daft, palin stupid and buy parts over their worth or have too much money!

really dont see what peoples issue is with Ton buying & Selling bikes, I am one of the worst on here for the same, my cash my time, my bikes. If you have had enough of reading his posts asking about different kit.. Dont read em, nothing wrong with trying to get the best possible bike for your cash, and at the end of the day its fun specing new builds.
, if you dont agree……… Get over it!

Njee, the bike I meant is light considering its travel and intended use and vs stock weight + vs other bikes with as much travel , the wheels, brakes etc are a lot lighter than the stock kit, and it now has slightly smaller but lighter tyres

The bars are 680 wide and a good width for me, as for brakes, I always go back to mini's, love them, esp the 07's with 160mm rotors…

Rob – thanks for the offer but I have some yeti odi's comming!!

yes the 2010 ones are 10mm I think, shame they didnt do that on the 09's

Right need to find a shop with the conversion kit in stock…

    and take paypal

the bottom is 1.5 the top 1 1/8 now I would assume that means the actual frame dimensions….. So I guess my question is, if I cannot sort out decent tapered forks can I leave the top HS as a 1 1/8 and buy a 1.5 to 1 1/8 reducer for the bottom and run it with normal 1 1/8 forks?

I used to say MTFU to myself, usually staring at a gap jump or some doubles, now after casing a double and 3 operations i dont anymore, spent far too much time owrrying about what people around me can do and what I should be doing.. now I just think about enjoying myself, days of dreaming about and trying daft jumps are history, ok my skills are half what they got to and I do need a lot of confidence back.. but in the scheme of things.. it does not matter!

I was more interested in the photo's in a frame :)

I would say thats an 04/05, nout wrong with it and around £500 seems on the money if it is legit, tbh you can pick cheap ones up from ebay around that money as it is a tad older now. I saw one on ebay the other day, same age and similar spec only went for £375………

No they are not THAT much better, tbh it's a bit like Ti frames, you either love, like or dont even notice the difference in how the frame feels, i have owned Ti and a carbon frame.. both felt the same as Alu at the end of the day… Ok the Ti did feel nice, and it did absorb some shock but imho I think it was the build quality not the material. Ok carbon can be repaired easily and cheaply, dont corode, always look nice even with cable rub and can be pretty light………. but, Worth 2k + for just a frame

    hell no

any idea on year? im only confused as a few bike shops said the pro's only came in Post mount F&R and the rear is def IS… I agreed as I thought the older black & gold minis were IS rear and the pros were too new for that format

how about a folding mtb that fits in your boot, easy to fit on a plane or a train etc… but keeping it looking nice??????

    Spankmonkey

Ah now iirc when I spoke to a shop they said they may be a tad older as the rear is IS and newer ones were PM F&R… that said we both thought the mini pros only came out in PM…

if it wont go back in, empty the system of all oil, clean it all up esp the piston's, check the seals to make sure you dont need new ones.. then put it all back together, just a tip when you pump the brakes to get the pisons almost out, put a sheet of card in the middle to stop them falling out,

cheers just wanted to check as they do not say what size it goes from, most say 160-180 etc. Anyone just put washers in place? £13 for a lump of metal seems steep for the hope one!

Well I spoke to my GP they have referred me but have agreed to push the MRI though as I am in a bad way.. the pain is 9/10 and I cannot sleep, the pain killers are not good as they render me into a mess of spaced out and off the planet. I think they did say I need an MRi and the opinion of a nuro sergeon. Hopefully this will get sorted this year, I would quite like to ride again sometime!!
