I would have thought having injections to stop joint problems was pretty common thing for people with any joint problems and is taken into account vs surgery. I have read alot on tinternet and almost every article said its just delaying the problem, and does not work in a lot of people! Problem is I cannot speak to anyone till monday and the injections are on Tue! spo not much time to find out if it is necessary or just another proceedure to go through for little benefit and potentially end up in surgery anyway in 2-6 months time,

i meant to get the contrast stuff into my spine, it says no driving for 24 hrs after this, just trying to get my head round why they are doing this.. and yes I will call them on monday to find out why this is on the cards when they already decided to op and remove the disc's.. just very curious

I will but ask for some piccies, someone asked how this started… No idea, yes I have had 2 bad crashes, did they cause this? I will never know.. they have said depending on how they do th eop will depend on what I can do after but they wont know until they are in there… mmmm just gonna have to sit back and see what happens!

thanks… They wont use my bone, they said either fuse what is left, use a metal bridge or a fake one, they were great and frm just the MRI 1 hour later put down for very quick surgery, just shocked as to the level of surgery needed

I thought standard hose expanded even a tiny amount when used, with braided they dont expand as much due to the mesh weave = more power, ok not a lot but you dont get the spongy flex in the lever when you apply the brake. Personally i think they work a bit better and as others say in a crash they survive a lot better!

    thank all

well my wife says I dont listen, so the noise of the mri should not be a problem :) I do however have a feeling they are going to say i need an op on my spine….. off we go to find out :( , perhaps I am just passed my sell by date

if I am in the bottom gear yes yes it still rubs even on the bike! but I have just realised I am running a Roadie cassette with very close ratios.. could this be the problem? think its 11-26, that said I have always run a granny ring and the full range of a cassette before with no problems

easy to bleed, and yes any rotor size, however on a good DH or long run they CAN over heat and loose performance, are they powerful.. not really unless you have the set up 100%. Key with older hopes is you need to have the set up very well! some hate hope for bad performance, but you need to maintain them and ensure the pistons are lubed to stop them sticking! get them right and they are great!

its on my spine, posted before on here a few times, basically the space in my spine C7 / T1 area is narrowing and nerves are being pressed on so have had pins & needles and really bad pain in my shoulder arm and leg on the left for the last 6 months, pain killers dont work so I am now on Gabaphenthin (epilepsy drugs), very strangely over the last 4 days it has moved to the right side and the left feels fine now… part of me wants to know what is wrong & get it sorted out, and that small part of me that does not want to hear the verdict!

at least its not as bad as his finess article a while back, full lycra whilst running and a headband.. god he loves himself

before you waste your cash, take pads out, pump lever a couple of times to get the pistons almost out, lube them up, push them back in and replace pads, then pump the brake. your pistons should slide easier, then do a full bleed. Always worked for me and multiple sets of hopes! cost around 20p worth of lube, it is well worth learning how to do it as any brakes can stick esp in this weather!

Terrys in Yate were bloody great sorting out a hub conversion for me, had some trick kit in stock as well! 15 min drive from N bristol. Another vote for mudock, or cyclesurgery in Filton

tinsey – not just on a spreadsheet, I have changed the whole build and it is very different in total weight, but then I have gone for a lot of light stuff like mini pro's, the nice wheels, thomson kit etc. As for how it rides, I cannot ride atm, waiting for an MRI on my neck on the 8th as I am crippled at the moment, that said I am hoping to do a quick ride before xmas to test it out, just need to load up on my painkillers..

I lost around 500 gms off the wheels and around 626 off the tyres, the bontrager wheels I had, had minion super tacky DH tyres I changed to EX1750 wheels and nevegal 2.2 tyres, so 2.4 lbs gone in one shot :)

did you fill the lever end up with oil ? if not fill it up, upen up the piston end bleed nipple then pump the brake, repeat around 10 times to get the air out each time topping up the oil, then seal both ends and pump the brake again!, if they are different sizes you would have oil escaping…..

sadly I put a spreadsheet together to get my remedy down, listed all the parts and what i could replace them with and the weight saving… it was almost 1.7kg, very worthwhile but I just feel dirty!
