Well 4 gp's and 1 physio… she keeps saying its notted and trapped nerves but from my research physio often does not reslove such actue cases… I have read; a lot of these are solved better with an MRI and possibly seeing a nurologist? how true this is I am not sure, im just at my wits end of 5 months and being no further forward. left arm and shoulder are now constant pain with loss of feeling and numbness every 10 mins, neck is stiff and sleeping I wake 10 times a night. as for riding, last ride over the quantocks was a nightmare of torture! who should refer me to nuro, the gp or physio?

Mark best of luck to you.. reading this makes a lot of daft petty things in life seem so insignificant, your positive outlook is an inspiration! Focus on yourself and get well!

wheel building and facing.. same as above see no need for facing. Everything else I am happy to say I now do, but I do really want to learn to build wheels!!

if it is mostly new you will losse a lot of cash!! I would go for a ride anyway to try and get the interest going…. either that or pack it away for a few months

well tbh it would be for a Ransom riding the likes of wales, quantocks, and possible some uplifts at cwm carn so every type of riding…

Well its for one of my friends, he has a 5 and is thinking of a Zesty but his components on the 5 are really good so was after frame only to swap the lot over!

Taka – Its damn strong, hard as metal as long as it is not cheap and has to be properly made with a lot of knowledge, I think cheap cr@p from china would snap quite easily if its a rip off job.

I must say I was torn towards a very nice S-works carbon enduro SL….. the new 2010's look rather nice, but the ransom just pipped it.

£350? 05 frames are not that desirable imho… I would sell the spare shock seperate, no one would pay more for a frame with 2 shocks..

I do like 66's .. ok a bit heavy, very strange but i just do not get on with Fox forks or shocks.. always got on with Marz far better!! I think I was doomed with the 5.5 with 36's and a DHX 5.0

thanks mama.. yes the intense was damn nice, I just could not get on with it.. changed the wheels, forks, stem & bar configurations but it just did not feel right… fettled the suspension lots.. no joy. The ransom just feels spot on and actually weighs the same as the 5.5 did!

Mr agreeable… it was the 1st incarnation… it had 66's in the end

swift.. no idea, make me an offer! I have never sold tyres…

Guitar.. now if I posted 400 photos of the kit & Parts I have had.. that would scare her!! most of my bikes have had every part changed about 3 times…

the nic's are bullet proof and you pay for the weight increase, I really do not need 2.4's with snakeskin protection. looking on CRC you get a huge range of weights from 450-850+ gms … 800 grams difference for a different set of tyres is huge if you dont need ultimate protection. looking quickly I know I can move to Mt Kings and save 460 gms.. 1/2 a Kg in one swoop! I like 2.1 – 2.2's and am certain I can save weight over the nic's.. just not sure which of them will perform!

ah Im not that bad then :)

Photos on these links are the best I have

    Rear

    Front

Rear, the middle is worn, sides are pretty good.. you get a good idea of them from the pics, front is pretty good and looks almost new. They are nice but £100 for a pair.. crazy!

yes the nics are going, rear is quite worn, front is almost new! just ott for what I need, they are 2.4 nobby nics snakeskin.

I thought 11 was a lot.. I have certaily had a lot of stick, couple that with circa 400 parts on top, its been a LOT. Finally happy to be able to just ride and enjoy it!

Oh Mrb / BigM this is dedicated to you ;)

seems odd to me, basically I have play in the BB so need to replace it, I had a spare RF bb and it wont allow the crank through 1 side as it is too small! just not sure what BB I need to order from crc

In that case it really depends what level of contracts you are after? over EU threshold then TED is your best place as ALL EU tenders will be on there and it is free. Under threshold then in general you need to pay for a custom service. that said have a look at these

    http://www.europeantenders.com/
    tendersdirect.com
    QSL Tenders (qsl-uk.com)
    publictender.co.uk
    ectenders.com
    govopps.co.uk
    dcicontracts.com
    https://www.uktradeinvest.gov.uk/ukti/appmanager/ukti/ourservices?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=opportunities&_nfls=false

Also search for tracker, you have to pay though……… again!!

My main gripe is that most search companies charge and their results can be off, they tend to send only basic information and not always the full information. Basicaly you get a digest once a week or they send anything that hits key words. IMHO they are nigh on usless.

    What market are you in?

btw.. I work for the Audit Commission and set up contracts & frameworks :)

    supply2gov is free

    also try tenders electronic daily

    http://ted.europa.eu/

    simap

Depends what your after, are you a supplier or a buyer?

southerndownhill is quite good as they have all the sections broken down also the sales section is split so very useful to find info on different subjects….

I put a thread on here about the spray on my wife's bike!… basically i did around 5 under coats, 4 of the main colour and 3 protective coats. I used plasticoat paint, like you say if it gives up you can always send it off… it cost me about £15 in total

scruff… I think that is the problem, there is so much knowing which are the best rides is a mine field. I am after long rides with tech sections, if possible some nice long decents, something to make a good 3 hours + of

Congrats… I have a 6 month old daughter and an almost 5 year old son (about to start school) seems all a tad serious with school starting soon, but very exciting! Since the arrival of my daughter 6 months ago my riding has dropped well off, back to no sleep, no cash and my stomach has increased a good 4" … life is great :)

If you want involving.. try yourself… just re-sprayed my wifes frame and forks and am so chuffed with the result… like you say picking off a web or asking for a finish is not that satisfying, unless you hate DIY that is :)

ok ok this was never meant to be a which is better or can old school handle the modern world…. I love my modern all singing all dancing intense, but I still love the old original kit regardless of how well it rides! that said it worked back then for epic rides and still can.. just not as easy ;)
